Chapter 4 4Failed Torture
Chapter 4 4. Failed Torture
Khalil returned to his shelter covered in blood, and there were already two people waiting for him in the dark room.
The ghost was squatting in a corner of the room, picking his nails carelessly. His black hair hung loosely in front of his forehead, his face was covered with blood, and there were even pieces of meat hanging on his body.
Seeing this scene, Khalil knew that he might have torn some people into pieces again.
As for the other person.
Khalil looked at her. The woman was in a daze. The metal right hand had disappeared and was completely broken from the connection with the shoulder. Judging from the rough wounds, Ghost probably tore the arm off forcefully.
"Is he dead?" Ghost suddenly asked.
"Dead," Khalil said. "Also, can you go out for a while, Ghost?"
"Why?"
"You stink so much, Ghost, that's why. I remember we agreed that you should take care of your personal hygiene."
Ghost frowned: "Aren't you covered in blood too?"
"Don't get me wrong, Ghost."
Khalilpi took off the blood-covered cloak without a smile, threw it out the door, moved the tattered chair over and sat down with a smile.
"Do you still have any questions?"
"."
The ghost said nothing more, but turned around and walked out of the door. His hearing allows him to clearly hear what's going on in a room from a great distance, so it really doesn't matter whether he's there or not.
However, he still didn't understand why Khalil insisted on letting him out - maybe one day he would understand.
The broken door creaked shut, and the smile on Khalil's face instantly disappeared at that moment. The skin and flesh relaxed, and the pale face became calm.
"It's time for you to wake up," Khalil said. "Pretending to be asleep is not an option."
The woman opened her eyes faintly. She was very calm and seemed to have a clear understanding of her current situation.
Unfortunately, it's not clear enough.
"It turns out that the vengeful spirit has helpers," the woman said slowly. "But you still don't know what your helpers have done, right?"
"He killed some damn people."
"He tore my car to pieces in public, and tore my bodyguard to pieces. And I already told those low-life bastards my name before I was forced to leave. Soon, the Skolywock family will Know what’s going on here.”
A ferocious smile slowly appeared on the woman's face, with malice boiling in it, and she did not hide it. The word she used to describe her being kidnapped was 'forced to leave'.
What fun.
A smile appeared again on Khalil's originally calm face.
"Really? So, which family do you belong to? Which earl?"
"You know a lot," the woman said with a sneer. Khalil's words seemed to make her more certain of something.
She was covered in blood and sitting on the dirty ground in a state of disgrace, but she acted as if she was the one in control.
In response, the smile on Khalil's face became more obvious. He didn't speak, just breathed slowly, as if he was brewing something.
Women, on the other hand, mistook this harbinger of destruction for something else.
"If you don't want to be tortured in pain for more than ten years, you'd better let me leave. You can't run away, the evil spirit of revenge."
She stared at Khalil sitting on the chair with hatred, and said Khalil's ridiculous title very seriously.
"I don't know who is behind you, and I don't know who gave you technical support, or even gave you an iron puppet with low-level intelligence."
At this she screamed.
"But the Skolywok family will come for you! And your only chance of survival is to let me leave this dirty ghost place!"
Khalil finally laughed softly.
"Iron puppet. Hahahahahahaha."
His laughter echoed in the dark room. "You actually think he is some kind of killing machine created by those craftsmen."
"Isn't it? Don't try to fool me!"
"You have a great sense of humor, ma'am," Khalil said softly. "But I hate humor."
He stood up and gave the woman a kick without hesitation. The force was controlled just right, and the kick on her abdomen not only made her feel severe pain, but also prevented her from losing her speech ability.
This is nothing to the nobles.
They have a deep-rooted tradition of throwing their still-growing offspring into dens, where they are hunted down by gangs and civilians alike. Only those who survive can assume a certain title in the family.
The woman spat out a mouthful of blood. She struggled to get up, and angrily hammered the ground with her remaining left hand: "I'm going to skin you for this! You lowly trash! Who do you think you are?" !”
Khalil said nothing and just kicked her again. This time, the force was slightly stronger. It can make her feel hurt and humiliated without causing her adrenaline to surge to a certain peak.
He needed her to feel fear, not ignore it with intense rage.
Khalil was able to control his power with precision, so he did this easily. This is one of the many reasons why he can survive in Nostramo to this day.
The woman flew backwards and crashed into the place where ghosts usually like to stay. Two ribs were broken, and several teeth in his mouth were missing.
After a cry of pain, full of resentment after being humiliated, she got up without hesitation and rushed towards Khalil. He even screamed curse words incoherently.
A pale hand suddenly popped out from the darkness, stopped her blind charge, and pinched her neck. After feeling that real power, fear finally appeared on the woman's face.
She finally realized that this so-called vengeful spirit that had been killing people at the bottom of the hive city for the past year and a half seemed different from what they had speculated.
He was not a private soldier sent by a certain noble before the Great Purge, nor was he a secret agent arranged in advance.
He doesn't care about the 'rules of the game' that the nobles know well and everyone abides by!
Squeezing her neck, Khalil led her out of the room. The ghost had jumped onto the roof of the shelter at some point, squatting there like a wild animal, silently looking at everything below.
It's still raining in Nostramo tonight.
The night never ends, but the neon lights used by gangs to declare their sphere of influence pierce the night and create strange lights and shadows in the sky. Sour, smelly and poisonous rain falls from the sky and is likely to get worse.
In the heavy rain, Khalil spoke slowly.
"I guess you are probably racking your brains right now, wondering who has the support behind me to make me act so boldly."
The woman's remaining left hand slapped his right hand with difficulty, trying to get him to let go. The combination of lack of oxygen and leaving the ground left her with no strength to struggle.
"But there's no one behind me," Khalil said. "No nobles support me, no family supports me behind my back. Isn't it incredible?"
He smiled and let go of his hand, and the woman fell to the ground in embarrassment, covering her neck and breathing heavily, mixed with violent coughing. Khalil didn't look at her, just raised his arms, enjoying the wash of the heavy rain.
Burning pain shot through his exposed skin, but he didn't care.
He has long been used to it.
He crouched down.
"Let me tell you something, ma'am."
Khalil stared into her eyes and spoke softly. "Not everything in this world has to rely on your set of rules."
"For hundreds of thousands of years, Nostramo has been following your rules. The people in the nest live in embarrassment like dogs, eating each other's corpses in the dark. The gangs divide and rule, collect taxes on your behalf, and exploit Prolo public."
"And what about you? You just need to sit in your own palace and enjoy yourself. You have invented all kinds of ways to enjoy your fallen life."
Khalil grinned, his white teeth exposed to the humid air.
"I'm very unhappy about this, to be honest, I'm extremely unhappy about it."
He raised his right hand and showed the tattoo on his wrist to the woman. Her eyes widened suddenly, and a name was shouted out immediately: "Lohars!"
"you are right."
Khalil chuckled and nodded, stood up, an elegant court ceremony was born in the next second, and his voice became deeper.
"The remnant of the Lohars, Khalil Lohars, greets you, ma'am."
The woman finally let out a scream of fear and backed away on her hands and knees, trying to escape. And Khalil had already rushed forward with a ferocious smile.
Flesh and blood flew everywhere.
——
"I thought you were going to torture her."
"Um."
"But you didn't seem to get her to say anything."
"Ah, really?"
"You didn't let me kill her, but you killed her yourself."
".Can you leave me alone for a moment, Ghost?"
Khalil turned his head impatiently and glared at the ghost sitting in the darkness: "I'm planning what to do next!"
"oh."
silence.
Khalil closed his eyes and finally couldn't help but curled his lips. He turned his head again and asked, "Are you curious about what that woman said?"
"She said your last name and seemed scared to death." Ghost nodded. "Why? Does she know you?"
"No, she doesn't know me, but she knows the tattoo."
Khalil said. He raised his right hand and showed the tattoo to the ghost.
"A knife dripping with blood?" Ghost said doubtfully. "What does this pattern represent?"
"Representing a family."
Khalil smiled mockingly. "A family that specializes in executions. Their methods are very cruel, even those nobles who like to be tortured and abused cannot bear it. That's why she is afraid."
"The previous and last Earl of this family was named Gaius Lohars, also known as the Earl of Beheading. He was a cruel executioner with no morals or humanity at all, and he loved killing."
"As for House Lohars. Its founder was a very lucky bastard. He climbed from the bottom to the top five hundred and thirty-one years ago. He rose from a dirty gang in the great purge game of the nobles. Transformed into one of the oppressors.”
"So, you are also a noble?" Ghost asked.
"No." Khalil shook his head. "Don't compare me to them, Ghost."
"The Lohars broke the rules of the game during the Great Purge twenty years ago. Gaius Lohars attempted to murder a lord and annex his territory, and his actions were betrayed by members of the family. The reporter reported it, and the entire family was sentenced to death.”
"Are they all dead?"
"Yes, they are all dead."
"But."
"But?"
"But you're not dead."
"Yeah." Khalil smiled slightly. "I'm a traitor, so I'm not dead."
After receiving the explanation, Ghost not only did not loosen his frown, but instead frowned more and more: "But your age doesn't match. You were just a child twenty years ago, how could you tell the truth?"
"A child born of sin, a child born of the blood of his victims and fed on their flesh."
Khalil corrected the ghost softly. "That betrayer is someone else, and I"
He shook his head.
"What I betrayed was the whole damn aristocracy," he said. "It's up to you to decide whether you believe it or not, Ghost. As for the truth...hehe."
He smiled softly: "The truth has long since dissipated in the wind."
