A day at Hogwarts

#494 - Someone came early

"What is this place?"

"I don't know. This is my first time here too."

Charles brought Voldemort to a place like a hall. There was light all around. There were five huge portraits on the wall, three men and two women. Except for one man who was particularly young, the other four were middle-aged.

In front of the portrait is a huge pool. The water and the fish in it are obviously made of magic. The fish come in four colors: yellow, purple, red and dark green.

Voldemort studied the portraits on the wall for a while, and came to some conclusion. He just said in confusion: "There should be four guardians, why are there five here?"

As he spoke, he suddenly realized that the person in the portrait seemed to be looking at him.

Behind him, Jack looked at the portraits.

A hundred years is enough to change a person's mentality and ideas.

Jack said in his heart: "Professor Figo, now I have decided to open the secret vault. I cannot let the power inside continue to be buried in history."

"Isidora also realized that this incredible power could be used to help others."

"This power has great potential. With me, Dumbledore, Charles, and smart wizards like Granger, we can completely avoid repeating the mistakes that Isidora made. I believe we can find a way to use this magic to benefit the world."

This is the last mechanism to enter the secret vault. Before this, Jack had been hesitant in his heart, wondering whether it was right or wrong to expose the magical power inside.

Now I understand that this kind of power cannot be hidden. Today we have Voldemort, and in the future there might be another Voldemort. Instead of letting future generations mess around, it is better to solve the problem while I am still alive.

Jack nodded toward the portraits.

Voldemort and Charles studied the pond for a long time, and finally Voldemort said, "Kill all those fish."

Charles took out his wand and cast a Flying Spell on a red fish in the water, preparing to throw it at his feet.

However, the flying spell had no effect on the fish.

Charles frowned and tried again with the yellow fish next to him, but it was useless.

He didn't believe it and tried again on the purple fish.

The fish suddenly flew out of the water and disappeared instantly when it landed on the ground. At the same time, the water level in the pool dropped a little.

Charles asked in confusion, "Do different colored fish react differently to different spells?"

Voldemort said, "Try another spell."

Charles cast the spell again: "Thunder Explosion!"

A high wave exploded in the pool, the red fish disappeared, and the water level dropped significantly.

Charles continued his efforts, frying and using flying spells to catch, and soon cleared all the purple and red fish.

After trying several times, I finally found a way to deal with the yellow fish: just freeze it.

But in the end, the dark green fish left Charles helpless, and no matter how many spells he tried, they were all useless.

Voldemort said to him, "Try the Cruciatus Curse."

Charles immediately said, "No."

Voldemort said: "I will teach you. The wand should be like this. The spell is 'Crucio'."

Charles tried it reluctantly, since he was forced to do so anyway.

"Crucio!"

A dark green fish disappeared in the water.

Voldemort blinked and thought, That's not right, I haven't even told you to harbor hatred yet and you've already succeeded. You're so talented, does Dumbledore know?

When all the fish in the pool were killed and the water receded, an ornate metal door appeared on the pool wall, and the surrounding braziers were burning with flames, illuminating the surroundings.

There was no need to say anything more at this point. The three of them opened the door and walked in.

"Huh?" The moment he stepped through the door, Charles felt something was wrong around him.

This space gave him an unreal feeling.

Behind the door was a huge cave. The rocks around it were covered with strange trees that looked very old.

There was moonlight in the distance, but it was certain that there was no such pit near Hogwarts Castle.

"Kind of like the Room of Requirement?" Charles said.

Voldemort did not answer, but suddenly became excited. The stranger the place, the better the hidden things.

In front of us is a wide and long stone bridge. At the other end of the bridge is a big door. Four braziers on both sides illuminate the surroundings.

A group of people walked to the door, and the door opened automatically with a "click".

Behind the door was another cave, much larger than Charles had expected.

He began to cast a spell to illuminate the area. A light came out from the tip of his wand, but it couldn't shine through the darkness. In the distance, there was a dark shadow, which he couldn't tell whether it was a stone or a fallen tree.

Charles thought for a moment, recalling some of the spells recorded in his diary, and finally waved his wand.

A large group of glowing butterflies emerged from the top of the magic wand, flying in all directions, illuminating a large area.

"Huh?!" Charles discovered that the black thing in front of him was a huge machine covered with dust.

Voldemort also saw it, waved his hand, and found a way to go over.

The machine is cylindrical in shape, with rotating teeth at the front and a tunnel at the back, apparently dug from the outside to get here.

"A goblin did it."

The size of the space above can tell who the maker and user are.

Charles exclaimed, "There are fresh footprints here!"

The machine was covered in dust and there were a few footprints that were particularly obvious. Judging from their size, they were undoubtedly those of a goblin.

Jack's expression became serious. He had checked this place two years ago and there were no footprints.

Voldemort said grimly: "These despicable thieves, they want to steal my things!"

Jack laughed in his heart, looked around, and found footprints extending deeper into the cave.

He said to Charles, "Charles, be careful, they may still be here, and I'm afraid we have been exposed."

The originally dark place is now brightly lit, and the other party will definitely notice it.

Charles nodded and asked Voldemort: "Professor, how do goblins fight?"

It took Voldemort a while to realize that this "professor" was himself, so he said: "The goblins are most proud of their magical creations. The weapons in them contain strange energy and are good at close combat."

"I heard that they have a kind of shoes that can rush to the wizard in the blink of an eye and attack the wizard with weapons."

Charles nodded and said, "Let's have close combat?", so he took out his weapon.

Voldemort was a little dumbfounded.
