A Realistic Mount & Blade Game
#7 - The spirit world scene inside the door
The apartment door was violently pulled open by Shen Mu.
“Kill!”

The five Swadian militiamen at the head still raised their spears, intending to charge in again with the ten Swadian recruits behind them.
But having only rushed forward two steps, their expressions subtly changed, and even their footsteps halted.
“Lord Shen Mu… there… doesn’t seem to be any enemies here.”
One of the Swadian militiamen spoke hesitantly.
“What’s going on?” Shen Mu frowned, finding the claim of no enemies somewhat ridiculous.
He drew the longsword from his waist.
Shen Mu pushed aside the Swadian recruits blocking his path, and his expression also shifted slightly as he looked at the scene behind the door.
What appeared before him was not the thirty-square-meter apartment room at all.
Instead, it was a room built with stone and wood, resembling an ancient medieval style, or perhaps the style of a lord’s castle of the Spirit Realm human race!
The entire space was approximately 600 square meters, with stone walls and pillars, and a large amount of wood used in its construction.
In the center stood a massive long table.
“It looks like the hall where lords hold banquets,” a knowledgeable Swadian militiaman, who had worked as a servant for a lord, said at this moment.
“Stay alert! Maintain vigilance!” Shen Mu slowly interrupted them, gripping the longsword tightly in his hand.
His eyes coldly scanned the empty lord's hall, which carried a faint, rotten smell in the air.
While breathing, Shen Mu also keenly noticed a slight odor permeating the air.
It was the smell of sulfur.
“Be careful, everyone.” The Swadian militiamen and recruits also wore solemn expressions.
Under their observation, they had also keenly discovered that many corpses were lying scattered across the floor of the lord's hall.
They were dismembered and scattered, with bite marks even visible on the remaining limbs.
This was enough to indicate that something bad had happened here.
After waiting for a moment.
Nothing unusual occurred.
“Alright.” Shen Mu's expression was grave, and while holding the longsword in one hand, he waved his left hand backward: “Retreat.”
The Swadian militiamen and recruits immediately retreated in an orderly fashion.
They exited through the narrow security door behind them once more.
Once everyone had retreated.
Shen Mu directly reached out and closed the security door. As the 'click' of the automatic lock echoed, his expression eased slightly.
“I didn’t expect that a fragment of a Spirit Realm scene would appear on this floor.”
Shen Mu slowly breathed a sigh of relief.
He understood that these so-called fragments of Spirit Realm scenes were locations sealed by time that had been scattered after the collapse of that fantasy-side crystal wall system.
Stepping into one meant breaking the seal of time, and time would begin to flow again within.
During the day, the danger might not be high.
But at night.
The undead rules would cause countless undead monsters to fill the area.
“This is indeed a tricky problem.”
Shen Mu pursed his lips.
Although the monsters inside the Spirit Realm scene wouldn't easily appear in reality.
Having such a door connecting to a dangerous Spirit Realm scene on this apartment floor was indeed a cause for concern for Shen Mu.
After all, the only thing separating the Spirit Realm scene from reality was that thin iron security door.
If they encountered powerful, or even intelligent, higher-level undead monsters.
That iron security door wouldn't be able to stop them.
[Ding! Your mission is complete!]
[You have cleared the floor and all rooms, confirming that there are no more enemies and that it is completely occupied by you.]
[You have received the mission rewards: Bread × 5 portions; Wheat Field × 1 acre; Recruit Upgrade Scroll (10 people) × 1.]
Just as Shen Mu returned to his apartment room, seeing the room filled to the brim, before he could say anything, a dialogue box appeared before his eyes.
At the same time, from between Shen Mu's eyebrows, streams of data began to emerge and extend into the room.
After the data streams disappeared and the light faded.
In the corner, there were now five loaves of extremely solid, brown bread, as thick as an adult's thigh.
And a card with an image of wheat printed on it appeared in Shen Mu's mind.
There was also a tightly wound scroll with images of soldiers training on its surface.
“Bread, a wheat field, and a recruit upgrade scroll.” Shen Mu slowly opened his eyes.
He knew that these were the rewards he had received for completing the mission.
He was just a bit surprised.
“It seems that the Spirit Realm scene in that last room wasn't counted as part of the mission completion requirements, otherwise it wouldn't have been so easy to complete.”
This was also a pleasant surprise.
Shen Mu turned his head to look at the bread in the corner, which was as thick as an adult's thigh, and a smile appeared on his lips.
He wouldn't need to worry about staple foods for a few days.
“And the upgrade scroll.”
Shen Mu's thoughts stirred.
A thin scroll that seemed to be made of parchment appeared in his hand.
It was also bound with a parchment rope, and there were many images of soldiers holding weapons on the surface.
[Recruit Upgrade Scroll (10 people)]
[Description: This is a scroll that can immediately upgrade 10 newly recruited recruits.]
[Function: Upgrade to Tier 2 units.]
The description of the item appeared before Shen Mu's eyes.
“Immediately upgrade to Tier 2 units.” The smile on Shen Mu's lips never faded: “Use!”
He directly chose to use it.
Instantly, the parchment scroll in Shen Mu's hand transformed into a stream of data, which then surged towards his currently only 10 Tier 1 Swadian recruits.
The upgrade was in progress.
After only ten seconds, the white light dissipated.
The previously thin and weak Swadian recruits, who looked to be only around 16 years old, had undergone tremendous changes.
Just like the five Swadian militiamen beside them.
They had gained weight, their age seemed to be around 18, and their eyes had become firm as if they had undergone training. Their weapons and equipment had also been replaced with standard items from the Swadian Kingdom.
Although they still couldn't compare to true regular soldiers, they were already capable of fighting bandits and expelling rogue soldiers within the Swadian Kingdom.
Their combat power had greatly improved!
Shen Mu was quite satisfied.
“Greetings, Lord Shen Mu!” The Swadian militiamen all saluted Shen Mu with their hands on their chests.
“Yes, very good.” Shen Mu raised his hand in response.
Fifteen Swadian militiamen.
All equipped with shields, spears, and hunting crossbows.
And they had received basic military training.
During combat, they could form better spear phalanxes or shield walls.
Their combat effectiveness had been greatly improved!
Shen Mu was quite satisfied.
“But what should I do with the remaining 1 acre of wheat field?” Shen Mu stroked his chin.
A dialogue box appeared before his eyes.
[Wheat Field (Crop Building)]
[Description: This contains 1 acre of land from the Suno Plains, with dense and healthy wheat growing on it. The ears of wheat are full of plump grains and will be ready to harvest soon.]
[Function: Obtain 1 acre of fertile land with wheat ready to be harvested.]
The description above was simple.
But.
Where should this 1 acre of wheat field be placed?
“I can't put it in the green belt downstairs, can I?” Shen Mu's expression was a bit helpless at this moment.
It would be easy to put it in the green belt below the community.
The problem is that it would arouse jealousy from others.
If it really came down to harvesting, it wouldn't be certain whose wheat it was.
And it was very likely to expose his Mount \u0026 Blade system, causing unnecessary trouble.
In Shen Mu's mind, the card with the wheat drawn on it was floating.
But when Shen Mu's thoughts came into contact with the card, a vague but real-in-his-eyes force field emerged from the card!
“Hmm? What is this?!” Shen Mu subconsciously watched the force field extending from the card.
It began to spread around him.
It even followed his feet and spread towards the surrounding rooms.
So much so that in Shen Mu's eyes.
It was as if small pieces of wheat field were evenly distributed among these apartment rooms!
“This is…” Shen Mu suddenly thought of what he had added before: “The Mount \u0026 Blade map editor!?”
