Chapter 2: Just one step away from the boxing championship

Chapter 2 One step away from the boxing championship

"Come on Link! His nose is injured, attack his nose!"

“Link, you are going to win, hold on!”

“Link, get up quickly, damn, that’s a million, stand up and there’s a million!”

Link opened his eyes suddenly, sat up straight from the bed, took a few deep breaths, suppressed the pounding heart in his chest, and felt a little dazed for a moment.

 He was dreaming again.

I dreamed that I was participating in a cage fight in an underground casino on the border of Myanmar and Thailand, competing for a reward of one million U.S. dollars, and was beaten to death in the finals.

In the days after time travel, he often dreamed about the past at night, dreaming that before he graduated from high school, he followed his uncle to work as a miner in a private iron mine in Xishan, pushing a dump truck full of ore out every day.

The exit passage is on a slope, and every time he has to hold his breath and grit his teeth to rush upward in order to push the car weighing several hundred kilograms out of the mine.

Running back and forth seventy or eighty times a day, I was exhausted every time I left work and lay in bed like a dead person.

He did this kind of work for three consecutive years.

When he was eighteen years old, he was eating in a restaurant and encountered someone robbing him. He punched the person subconsciously, causing him to vomit blood and break three ribs.

His boxing coach Lao Liu was also having dinner in the hotel at that time.

Lao Liu saw that he was strong, flexible and a talent, so he asked him if he would like to learn boxing.

Hearing that he had a living allowance of 3,000 yuan per month, he resolutely agreed to Lao Liu's suggestion, practiced boxing with Lao Liu, and participated in amateur competitions in China.

His amateur record was 12 wins in 12 fights. In the thirteenth game, he fought too hard and beat his opponent to death with one punch. Although it was manslaughter, he was sentenced to three years in prison.

This imprisonment had a huge impact on him. Not only did he lose the qualification to represent the country, he was also expelled from the provincial boxing team. He was also blacklisted by other boxing clubs. He could only follow Lao Liu to participate in underground boxing.

At the age of 28, someone on the Myanmar-Thailand border opened an unruled fighting competition, inviting fighting, wrestling, and boxing athletes from many countries to participate. The winner was awarded a million US dollars.

He followed Lao Liu to participate in the competition.

After six rounds of eliminations, he successfully reached the finals. However, the competition in underground casinos does not pay attention to the rules and there are endless tricks. Injuries will occur in every game.

In the last game, he was beaten to death on the stage due to a recurrence of an old injury.

When he woke up, he was lying in a hospital in Miami and became an American named LinkBaker.

LinkBaker, twenty years old this year.

When he was fifteen years old, his father died in a street shootout, and his mother remarried. LinkBaker became a street gangster, selling goods, drag racing, stealing, often getting into fights, and was imprisoned many times.

Having a fight on the street more than half a month ago, I was stabbed in the back with a dagger. I lost too much blood and died. Later, I was successfully taken over by Link.

This diving shop is the legacy of the predecessor’s grandfather. His grandfather was an old fisherman who couldn’t catch fish because he was too old, so he opened a diving shop on the beach.

Link took over the place after he woke up and became a diver. Although he didn't make much money every day, his mood gradually improved as he looked at the sun, beach and sea, and all the discomfort caused by the time travel slowly disappeared.

He is quite satisfied with his current life.

 “Hey, welcome to Miami.”

Link smiled at the mirror. The person in the mirror had crisp, short black hair, narrow double eyelids, and chiseled facial features, as handsome as a sculpture. His blue eyes were like the sea outside the window, deep, pure, and carrying A hint of melancholy.

This face and temperament have a slight resemblance to his previous life, which is something he is quite satisfied with.

Out of the bathroom, Link put on a red sportswear, wrapped two ten-pound iron sand bags around his waist, and went for a morning jog on the beach. It was around four o'clock in the morning, and it was still dark outside. There were stars in the sky, and the crescent moon was like a hook. The sea in the distance looked calm under the night. There were only a few small islands above the water. They were dark, with swaying vegetation, like the bottom of the sea. The exposed skull of a giant beast.

Link walked along the promenade, starting from the diving shop, heading north to the Palm Beach District Seaside Park, which is about fifteen kilometers.

Eat two pieces of ham pizza at Joisce Pizzeria and continue running back.

While passing the public pier, there was a pleasant sound of guitar tinkling in the wind, adding some elegance to the early morning seaside.

He ran past the pier and saw a girl in a blue dress, sitting on the mahogany deck, holding a guitar in her arms, one leg curled up, one calf hanging in the air, swaying casually, her calf wrapped in white gauze.

Her long golden hair was lifted up by the sea breeze, revealing her fair and rosy face. It was Taylor Swift whom I met yesterday. She lives in the Hyatt Place Hotel in the Palm Beach area, not far from here.

 “Hi, Link!”

The girl suddenly turned around and smiled at him.

"Hi!"

Link waved, slowed down and asked, "It's very windy here, why don't you go sit in the shop?"

"OK!"

Taylor nodded, put down his guitar, and stood up slowly while holding on to the railing.

Link walked onto the dock and helped her carry the guitar case, holding her arm with one hand.

Back at the store, Link took a shower, changed into dry clothes, fried two steaks in the kitchen, and two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice, and brought them to the door of the store.

Tyler was sitting on a beach chair with his legs crossed and playing guitar. There was manuscript paper and pen on the table. He seemed to be composing a new song. When he saw him coming over with food, Taylor put down the guitar and thanked him.

“Link, do you go for a morning run every day?”

Taylor looked at his thick and powerful arms, and his chest and abdominal muscles were exposed even if he was wearing a loose T-shirt. They were so **** that she couldn't help but take a few more glances.

“Pretty much, except for rainy days.”

“Like you, I practice guitar every day, but I prefer rainy days. When it rains, I sit behind the window and watch the rain. I will be more inspired.”

Tyler curled his lips and gestured with his fork.

“Writing a song on a rainy day? It sounds very emotional.”

Link smiled, cut the steak into small pieces with a knife, and stuffed the fork into his mouth one after another. It only took two minutes to put an 800-gram steak into his stomach.

After time traveling, not only did his physical fitness double, but his appetite also doubled. He had to eat a lot of food at each meal to feel full. James called him a loser.

By the time he finished, Taylor had only eaten half of his veal steak.

“I don’t cook often, and the taste is average. If you can’t finish it, you can leave it.”

Link said as he looked at her plate.

 “No! It’s delicious.”

Taylor shook her head and swayed her golden ponytail. She pointed to the sea and the beach and smiled slightly: "I just feel very romantic. The sunrise, the sea, the white beach, the palm trees, having breakfast face to face with a handsome boy, it feels like Like in a movie."

Link smiled softly, it sounded good, but he felt that the greatest romance for a man was to use a fierce punch in the boxing ring to completely beat the opponent to the point of losing all resistance. That was called romance.
