The situation is deteriorating

After Malele, the highest military commander of Siceslav, chose to surrender, the city of Siceslav was basically declared "liberated" and it was basically impossible for the enemy to organize effective resistance.

So, after less than four hours of fighting, the Labor Party completely occupied the city of Sicheslav. Of course, with the Labor Party coming to power, the name of the pseudo-government of the city of Sicheslav was naturally abolished, and the Labor Party restored the old name of the city of Yekaterinoslav.

However, the name of the city of Yekaterinoslav has a strong Tsarist-era flavor, so just a few years later, it was renamed Dnepropetrovsk by the Soviet government.

Without the command of Malelai and other senior leaders of the 37th Division, the remaining troops of the 37th Division immediately fell into a state of leaderlessness.

At the same time, the Labour Party, using Malele's name, began to reposition the rest of the 37th Division.

"Commander, the division headquarters sent an urgent telegram ordering our regiment to immediately stop the current military operations, return to the base, and wait for the next order." The signalman delivered a telegram to the commander of the Renlovsky regiment.

"What?" Renlovsky shouted in disbelief, snatching the telegram from the signalman, and said, "We just got halfway and they asked us to retreat. What is the division doing?"

It is no wonder that Captain Renlovsky reacted so strongly. Anyone who is suddenly woken up in the early morning and has his sweet dream disturbed would definitely feel uncomfortable.

Moreover, the troop assembly was an order from the division headquarters. Now, they had just assembled the troops with great effort, but halfway through, they received a telegram from the division headquarters asking them to go back. This made Renlovsky, who was already in a bad mood, feel even more confused.

Isn't this just looking for trouble? Renlovsky thought so, and this feeling was no different from being played a trick on someone.

However, Renlovsky still read the contents of the telegram with a frown on his face. After confirming that the division headquarters had indeed made such a request, Renlovsky cursed: "Assholes, those bastards in the division headquarters are really looking for trouble."

"They woke us up before daybreak and asked us to gather at the division headquarters. But after we had been struggling for quite some time, they asked us to go back. It really doesn't make sense!"

His adjutant, Chasokov, also said with resentment: "It is indeed a joke. I originally thought that something big happened in Sicheslav, so the higher-ups mobilized the troops to assemble. But now it seems that the matter may have been settled, so the division headquarters issued contradictory orders."

Renlovsky thought the same thing. He asked, "What could possibly happen in Sicheslav that would require military intervention?"

"Unless the Russian Red Army attacks, it would be fine. But Sicheslav is not the front line, so I guess those good-for-nothings in the city government must have caused some big trouble before, so the army had to intervene, but it was quelled before the army was ready to go."

Chasokov guessed: "Perhaps the Labor Party launched a riot in the city, which caused the officials in the city to misjudge. After all, it was dark and it was normal for them to be confused about the enemy's situation."

"Those government officials were so afraid of death that they asked our division for help. Division Commander Malelai thought something big had happened, so he asked the troops to assemble."

Chasokov's subtext was that something did happen in the city, and as a result, the officials of the Sicheslav city government exaggerated the situation and exaggerated the details, which eventually alarmed the top leaders of the 37th Division.

Following his adjutant's guess, Renlovsky said, "Before, there was indeed a small-scale gunfire in the direction of Sicheslav. It was probably the Labor Party or some other organization trying to start a rebellion, but it was put down by the Sicheslav Police Department."

In the view of Zhilovsky and Chasokov, the Labor Party itself is a small and insignificant organization in Ukraine. After all, the city of Sicheslav had launched several rounds of "effective" attacks on the Labor Party before.

"Forget it, never mind. Anyway, we won't go wrong if we follow the orders given by the division headquarters. If there are any problems, those are for the division commander and brigade commander to consider. Let's go back to sleep." Renlovsky didn't intend to dwell on these issues anymore. After all, obeying the orders of superiors was the right thing to do.

There are "honest people" like Renlovsky who are not vigilant and thus follow the orders of the division headquarters obediently. Naturally, there are also people who notice that something is wrong and are ready to find out the truth.

At the same time as the Renlov Regiment received the new order from the division headquarters, the other 37th troops naturally also received related news, such as the two battalions that had just approached the city and were preparing for combat.

Battalion Commanders Cherkaskoye and Vyazov gathered together to discuss the matter.

"Vyazov, I feel like something might be wrong at the division headquarters." Cherkaskoye frowned and said, "The Labor Party in the city is quite powerful right now. We entered the city to quell the riots at the request of the division commander, but now the division headquarters has withdrawn the order. I have a bad feeling."

In response, Vyazov said with a gloomy face: "Indeed, I have a bold idea. Perhaps the Labor Party has infiltrated the troops, and the division headquarters has run into big problems because of this. This is not impossible."

Unlike Zhilovsky, Vyazov and Cherkaskoye were completely clueless about what was happening in Sicheslav.

They knew that the arsenal in the city had been attacked, so Commander Malele urgently sent them into the city to suppress the rebels.

Moreover, the two scouts have brought back some intelligence from the city. Now there are a large number of Labor Party members wandering on the streets of Sicheslav. Based on their equipment and the gunfire that has now subsided in Sicheslav, it can be judged that the arsenal has most likely been destroyed by the Labor Party.

Therefore, the two of them were very clear that the situation in Sicheslav was precarious, but the division headquarters asked them to withdraw at this time, which must be a big problem.

Cherkaskoye said: "There must be something wrong with the division headquarters. What should we do now?"

Vyazov said with embarrassment: "I don't know either. We are now in a dilemma. The Labor Party in the city is not easy to deal with. After all, if we enter the city now, street fighting may occur, which is not conducive to our operation."

"Besides, entering the city now would conflict with the orders of the division headquarters. To put it bluntly, it would be disobeying military orders."

"But since you and I have deduced that there may be a big problem at the division headquarters, and it may even be infiltrated by the Labor Party, it may be dangerous for us to go back at this time."

Just when the two were struggling, a soldier suddenly reported a "good news".

"Battalion Commander, Commander Morinkuzov's troops have arrived!"

Hearing that Morinkuzov had arrived, Cherkaskoye was overjoyed and said, "We don't need to worry about it now. If the sky falls, there are tall people to hold it up. We will report the situation to Commander Morinkuzov, and then we will just follow his lead."

Vyazov thought the same thing: "Captain Morinkuzov should be one of us, who was sent by the division to quell the riots before. He should be one of us."

So the two of them couldn't wait to rush towards the direction of Captain Morinkuzov, and soon, Captain Morinkuzov saw them.

"Captain Morinkuzov, you should have been sent by the division to quell the riot, right? The situation in Sicheslav City is critical now, but the division suddenly asked us to go back. I'm afraid there is a big problem." As soon as he saw Morinkuzov, Cherkassky said hurriedly.

When Morinkuzov saw the two, he was also very "happy". He said with a smile: "You two guessed correctly. There are indeed some minor problems in the division headquarters."

Seeing Morinkuzov's weird smile, Vyazov realized that something was wrong, but it was too late.

It happened in a flash. Before the two men could continue speaking or making any move, Morinkuzov's guards suddenly stepped forward and subdued Cherkaskoye and his two men and some of the soldiers they brought with them.

At this time, Cherkasskoye had not yet reacted. He struggled and asked loudly: "Captain Morinkuzov, what do you mean?"

Morinkuzov laughed and said, "Don't you understand? You have been detained."

Vyazov said to Morinkuzov with an embarrassed look on his face: "Are you in league with the Labour Party in the city?"

Morin Kuzov said: "Yes, I have indeed joined the Labor Party. Now the division headquarters and the city have been captured by us, so you'd better not make any unnecessary resistance. Obey our arrangements honestly to ensure your safety."

Hearing what Morinkuzov said, Vyazov and Cherkaskov looked at each other helplessly. Vyazov said self-deprecatingly: "We have walked into a trap! I didn't expect that Morinkuzov, a guy with thick eyebrows and big eyes, would actually be a member of the Labor Party. It was beyond our expectations. We can only consider ourselves unlucky to be caught by you."

If they had known that Morinkuzov was a member of the Labor Party, Vyazov and the other man would definitely have chosen to run away first. As a result, both of them are now dead here.

In this way, the officers of the 37th Division had either defected to the Labour Party or were detained. Only a small number of them chose to resist after realizing that the situation was not good.

However, their strength is no longer significant compared to the already powerful Yekaterinoslav Labor Party.

The next day, at six o'clock in the afternoon, the Russian Red Army on the Donbass defense line had already begun its attack on the Ukrainian troops stationed in Donbass.

The Ukrainian troops in Donbass did not know yet that Sicheslav, such an important city in the rear, had been captured by the Labor Party.

"Comrade Malenkov, we succeeded. The 37th Division is completely under our control. We have also occupied important institutions and departments in the urban area. We have now completely established a firm foothold in Yekaterinoslav. I propose that a provisional government of the Yekaterinoslav Labor Party be established immediately to cooperate with the Red Army on the front line to defeat the Ukrainian puppet military government." Tomadevka excitedly suggested to Malenkov.

Malenkov said: "Not only that, but we will also transform the 37th Division, using Petrov and Morinkuzov's troops as the foundation and adding workers to form two new troops. One is the Yekaterinoslav City Defense Army to consolidate the results of victory, and the other is the New First Ukrainian Army to expand our results and provide support to other battlefields at any time."

In fact, Malenkov did not trust Petrov and Molinkuzov, who had just joined the Labor Party, very much. However, at this time, he had no one available, so he could only boldly use the two.

Malenkov said: "Comrade Tomadevka, I hope that you will serve as the political commissar of the defense army next. In addition to protecting the fruits of victory, you must also cut off the main transportation routes in Yekaterinoslav, interrupt railways, roads and waterways, and wait for the lifeline of the Ukrainian army."

"I will lead the New First Army to fulfill my original oath and march north along the Dnieper River to support the Labor Party movements in other cities. At the same time, I will march towards Kiev, the seat of the puppet government's head, to force the puppet government to mobilize its forces and disrupt their layout."

Malenkov's move can be said to be extremely risky. If he went deep into the enemy's territory alone, he might be wiped out. Of course, Tomadevka and others who stayed behind in Yekaterinoslav were not in a safe situation either.

It can be said that Yekaterinoslav has a very prominent strategic position. When the puppet government receives the news that it has been occupied by the Labor Party, it will inevitably send heavy troops to encircle and suppress it.

Of course, compared to Malenkov who chose to lead the troops north, it is safer to stay there. After all, there is no pressure on logistical supplies if he stays here.

Tomade Fuka was naturally well aware of this. He held Malenkov's hands tightly and said, "Comrade Malenkov, don't worry. I will defend Yekaterinoslav to the death."

August 1921.

For the Ukrainian government, this can be said to be a period of great disasters.

On the one hand, the Russian Red Army officially launched a large-scale military operation against Ukraine. On the other hand, with the active response of the Labor Party organizations in Ukraine, rebellions broke out in many parts of the country. For a time, the whole of Ukraine, especially the east, was in turmoil.

By September, a total of more than a dozen towns changed their flags due to the riots launched by the Labor Party. In Ukraine, the Labor Party successfully developed dozens of large and small troops, especially the New First Army led by Petrov and Malenkov. They went north along the Dnieper River, occupied the city of Kremenchug in mid-September, and continued to move north, posing a threat to Kiev.

At the same time, the Labor Party's armed forces behind enemy lines began to cooperate with the Russian Red Army on the front line to disrupt the Ukrainian army's transportation and material supply lines.

This put the Ukrainian army on the Donbass front into a very passive situation, especially the Ukrainian army in the Donetsk direction, because the transportation hub of Yekaterinoslav was occupied, and material supply became very difficult.

Strategic materials such as ammunition, food, and medicine began to become scarce. At the same time, the Russian Labor Party armed forces in the rear began to expand, further cutting off their supply channels.

The Russian Red Army seized the opportunity, concentrated its forces and artillery, and attacked the Ukrainian army in the direction of Donetsk.

Finally, near October, the Ukrainian army in the Donetsk direction was broken through by the Russian Red Army due to the depletion of supplies and the dilemma of being attacked from both sides. With the breakthrough, the entire Donbass defense line became completely useless.

The Russian Red Army began to enter Ukraine in large numbers, and with the cooperation of the Labor Party armed forces behind enemy lines, they quickly expanded to the west. For a time, the situation in the whole of Ukraine quickly deteriorated and a large number of high-ranking Ukrainian government officials fled abroad in cities such as Kiev.
