Chapter 4 Upgrade
"I was called up at 5 a.m. for a urine test, which affected my sleep!"
"I had 7 urine tests a day, and 42 in the past few days. I couldn't sleep at night because I would be woken up in a while!"
"Chinese athletes have the most urine tests in the world!"
"Why doesn't the American team need it?"
In the temporary training venue of the Chinese swimming team in Paris, all the athletes watched Zhang Yufei's interview before the Olympics on TV, and everyone seemed indignant.
In the past few days, Chen Shu has been pulled for urine tests more than 20 times, not to mention several world champions.
And the American team next door, Gretchen Walsh, the world record holder of 100 butterfly, has 0 urine tests; and many members of their team can be exempted from the test because some of them have asthma and need to take specific medications.
Such double standards obviously made many people in the Chinese swimming team angry, which led to the interview video in front of us.
"Let's train!"
"Only by defeating the opponent in the arena can we shut them up!"
"I don't have time to attend the opening ceremony tomorrow!"
"There will be a competition tonight!"
While the head coach Cui Dengrong was lecturing, Chen Shu jumped into the swimming pool and started his routine training.
This kind of practice in the swimming pool will also improve the system's skill experience, but the higher the level, the harder it is to improve; and every time you defeat the opponent, it is not the active kind, the experience you gain is more; of course, the most is in the competition.
Chen Shu has done experiments.
In the city-level competition, if you win a group match, you can improve your primary level by 1 level; and in the finals, you can improve by 2 levels.
At the provincial level, it will be more.
Like the Olympic qualifiers, if you win the finals, you can directly upgrade to the intermediate level, 10 levels, a major level, from the primary to the intermediate level.
So in the Olympics, the finals will definitely improve more.
If you can win a gold medal, you can not only light up your skills, but also gain more experience.
So breaking records and winning gold medals are what Chen Shu needs to pursue now, so that he can participate in more swimming events.
For example, 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter, 400-meter and even 1500-meter!
This requires the strengthening of skills.
Currently, Chen Shu’s 50-meter is absolutely no problem, but 100-meter is a bit uncertain, because he only signed up for the 50-meter qualifying competition, so he can’t participate in the 100-meter event.
However, he can try to make a breakthrough in the 100-meter freestyle relay.
I just don’t know if the head coach will let him play, because there are many good 100-meter freestyle swimmers in the swimming team.
He is currently only a substitute in the national swimming team, ranking fifth.
The first one is of course Pan Zhanle, the current world record holder for men's 100m freestyle. In this year's FINA World Championships men's 4x100m freestyle relay, he broke the world record for men's 100m freestyle with 46.80 seconds, shocking the entire swimming world.
The second place is Wang Haoyu, with a personal best of 47.89 seconds. He is the runner-up in the 100m freestyle at this year's championship, only losing to Pan Zhanle.
The third and fourth places are Ji Xingjie and Chen Juner. The two are actually quite similar, both around 48.5 seconds.
Ji Xingjie may be slightly faster. He was the third in the most recent championship, 48.33 seconds; Chen Juner 48.50 seconds!
Chen Shu is not sure how fast he can swim at the moment, because he hasn't tested it for a long time, and he hasn't tested his maximum speed since the championship. The bonus experience and so on were directly converted into sprints.
Directly reached level 39, only 1 level away from master.
Master-level sprints can add a 10-second buff, and sprints are more powerful!
Currently, Chen Shu's most lacking skill in 100m freestyle is actually underwater turning. He has not deliberately improved this skill, but has gained experience when practicing 100m frequently. His current level is only LV9!
"Practice for 1 hour and get familiar with the swimming pool in Paris!"
"Then select the preliminary lineup for the 100m freestyle!"
"Chen Shu, Zhanshuo, Guangsheng, Wang Shun, you will also participate!"
Cui Dengrong said to Chen Shu and the other four. Their main event is not 100m freestyle. They have basically signed up for other events. For example, Chen Shu's roommate Zhang Zhanshuo is 1500m freestyle, Wang Shun is also 200m, and Niu Guangsheng is 200m butterfly.
But sometimes, the four of them actually work part-time as relays. They are the tallest among the short ones. There are indeed not many good players in China who are good at 100m freestyle. Many of them practice part-time.
Hua La La!
Chen Shu swam quickly in the water.
Level 21 intermediate acceleration and level 39 advanced sprint. With normal training, his experience basically didn't increase much. He mainly practiced underwater turning.
Ding!
Just when he had practiced for about an hour, the familiar upgrade prompt sounded.
[Congratulations to the host. After unremitting efforts, the underwater turning has been upgraded to intermediate! ]
[Intermediate underwater turning lv10]: Turning can get an extra 0.2 seconds of time bonus, and the skill proficiency is improved.
"0.2 seconds?"
This time is a bit scary.
You know, the primary level is only 0.1!
To be honest, Chen Shu's underwater turning action, let alone Pan Zhanle and others, even Niu Guangsheng can't compare. He should be the worst among all people in turning action and the longest time, otherwise he would not only sign up for a 50-meter freestyle that does not require turning, just a straight line distance in one lane.
You should know that in swimming competitions, the longer the distance, the more turns you have to make.
Therefore, the quality of the turning action has a direct impact on the performance of the competition.
Under normal circumstances, a correct and perfect turn can be more than 0.5 seconds faster than a poor turn. With the rapid development of modern swimming level, the game is often decided by a few hundredths of a second.
Therefore, mastering the correct fast turning technique is of great significance.
Chen Shu currently takes about 1 second to turn, while Pan Zhanle only takes about 0.5 seconds; this is when Chen Shu has mastered the basic underwater turning, otherwise he might need 1.1 seconds or even 1.2 seconds!
Now, if the underwater turning is upgraded, it is very likely that Chen Shu will only need 0.9 or even 0.8 seconds to turn!
This is a lot of progress compared to before.
Pah pah pah!
Suddenly, Cui Dengrong's clapping voice came from the shore: "Okay, rest for 5 minutes, and then start again!"
"3 chances!"
"The 4 fastest swimmers will participate in the men's 100m freestyle relay preliminaries tomorrow night!"
