Alien Knights

Chapter 85 Swearing

Five days later, Huggins returned with the carriage.

The three people who had heard the news in advance, Todd, Edgar and Jerry, waited at the entrance of the town early.

Looking at the two people who were looking forward to it, Todd inexplicably remembered the days when everyone was in the monastery together. Underground gatherings, farm work, visits to the circus, refining silver slag... everything seems to be in sight, but the reality is inadvertently pushing everyone further and further away.

When he found Edgar and Jerry a few days ago, he had learned that since the Inquisition was over, leaving the Abbey, and moving to Mussey, Huggins had found them a job in the Guards.

Edgar still does the work of delivering letters and helping people run errands, but the objects of service are changed to the residents of the town; while Jerry is in the escort, doing the work of carrying and guarding.

Although what they did was not a profitable business, the workload was much easier than before. Coupled with the income from silver refining and the occasional help from Huggins, the two looked pretty good. Edgar's face was rosy, and Jerry had gained a lot of weight.

In terms of emotion and reason, as the first to follow Todd, Edgar and Jerry could have found Todd and found a fat job by virtue of their past affection, but they did not do so. There is Huggins's inspiration, more of their own ideas, but Todd is deeply sorry for this.

When Todd found these two people and hoped that they could come to him, he couldn't believe his eyes and ears. Little Jerry hugged him excitedly and spun around on the spot, while Edgar yelled at "silly big man" anxiously. The two of them returned to Todd immediately without any hesitation.

The only thing that left Todd speechless was that when Edgar was injected with the "Sutherland Archaea", his screams almost knocked the entire roof off...

The carriage slowly approaching in the distance finally stopped before everyone's eyes. Huggins, proud of the spring breeze and full of joy, raised the curtain, and Todd knew the two people who jumped out of the car.

The beautiful woman is his wife, and the lively and lovely girl is his daughter. It seems that he has been forgiven by his family for the lie a few years ago.

What surprised Todd was Huggins' next move. He climbed into the carriage and took out a simple long sword from under the driver's seat. Walking in front of him, the man knelt down on one knee, lowered his head, offered his long sword, and said in his mouth, "I, Hudgens Zezuquel, swear allegiance to my lord Todd Fisher. I will be loyal and stay on my side."

"Wait, wait!" The other party's sudden action made Todd's head a little dizzy. The amount of information in this paragraph is a bit large, and he needs to sort it out: "Hagins, first, I am not a nobleman, so I cannot accept your allegiance; second, if you want to become a knight of the Holy See, the object of your oath should be the Heavenly Father."

Huggins laughed, pulled out the long sword, stuffed the hilt into Todd's hand, held the blade in one hand, and drew a bloody cross on the other arm. Shen Sheng said: "You gave me a second life, saved my family, and saved my soul. My oath is higher than class, higher than belief, and it only comes from being loyal to you!"

A few minutes later, Huggins, who seemed to be convinced of his death, refused to let go no matter how Todd persuaded him. The latter saw that it was hard to say anything, so he simply let him go.

Watching a group of people chatting and laughing as they walked towards the town, Todd looked up at the sky: "Todd Fisher... This is the first time I've heard my full name."

———————————

The Huggins family quickly integrated into the life of the town. The man accompanied his wife and daughter to every scenic spot in Muxi Coast and ate every kind of snack in Muxi Town.

When he heard that Todd planned to take the "Grafting Rose" to Silver Ring City, he flatly rejected the priest's kindness, arranged for his family, and joined the escort team.

"Your family just came to Muxi Town, and they need you."

Huggins tightened the weapon around his waist, shook his head and said, "I still have a long time with them."

"I need someone I can trust to stay in Muxi Town."

The man looked at the gloves in the bag, threw them aside, and laughed: "I have already said hello to Alfonso. During my absence, he and his followers will be responsible for the safety of Muxi Town."

Todd was out of words.

Huggins whistled behind him, and his "acquaintances" stood neatly armed together. The man put his arms around one of them's neck, punched the other's chest with his fist, and said happily: "They are all my subordinates in the legion. I saved their lives, and they saved mine. When I chose to leave, they gave up everything and chose to wander the world with me. They are like my family, my brothers."

Looking at these familiar faces, Todd nodded involuntarily, thinking of those old days.

The old farmer Sassoon came to his side, took off his hat, and bowed his head respectfully: "My lord priest, all the flowerpots have been loaded into the carriage."

Five horse-drawn carriages lined up at the entrance of the warehouse, and 32 pots of "grafting roses" waiting to be released were fixed in the carriages. Todd lifted the curtains of each carriage and repeatedly checked the binding ropes and air holes. Huggins, Edgar, Jerry Jerry and the guards once again confirmed their respective luggage and dry food for the team.

Alfonso walked to the front of the convoy, came in front of Todd, and lowered his voice: "Father, I don't want to see any surprises about my friend Huggins."

Todd understood what the other party was referring to. He nodded and found that the knight did not move out of the way. Instead, he continued: "I have applied to the Third Inquisition for a transfer. From now on, I will be the guardian knight of the church in Muxi Town."

After hearing this, Todd slipped on his feet and almost fell down. He asked in surprise, "The church here was transferred from the Inquisition? Do you know what that means?!"

Alfonso pressed his chest and said indifferently: "If you really solve the problem of the "successor" for hundreds of years, I think it is more meaningful to follow you than to be there."

Todd rubbed the bridge of his nose, shrugged helplessly, and looked around the crowd. He didn't find the familiar face, so he gave up the search and said loudly to Huggins, the leader of the team: "It's time, let's go!"

Huggins waved goodbye to his wife and daughter in the farewell team, and the whip in his hand exploded in the air. The horse kicked its hooves and headed towards Silver Ring City with the "hope" of Wuxi Town.
