Altar of the Heavens of Harry Potter
Chapter 60 Newt
Canaan had time to open the invitation only after he and Lincoln returned from Boulogne.
This is a hard paper made of golden material, on which it is written:
"Please arrive at the designated place within the specified time. Inviter: Guweit." The writing on it was faintly visible, and disappeared after a while.
Canaan found that the time and place were not written on it, so he curiously flipped through the special invitation letter. Combined with the disappearing handwriting on it, he guessed that this invitation letter should have been enchanted, and the handwriting would only be displayed at the specified time.
Sure enough, around six o'clock in the evening, the invitation letter issued a light yellow halo, flew out of Canaan's pocket, and a line of writing appeared on it:
"Please arrive at Building 44, Avenue Valente, Paris within half an hour."
"Oh, hell." Canaan murmured, and then hurriedly found out a map of Paris to find Avenue Valente. If it was far away, he would have to use apparation to make his way.
There are quite a few wizards living in Paris these days, and Canaan doesn't want to use magic as a last resort.
Fortunately, Valante Avenue is not too far from here, and after explaining to Lincoln, Canaan rushed there.
Canaan, who arrived at the destination, got off the taxi. He felt that he should be the only wizard who came here by Muggle transportation.
But he looked at the Valante Street in front of him, it was gloomy, there was no light on any of the buildings inside, and the street was pitch-black, as if even the moonlight couldn't shine in.
"I hate this kind of place the most!" Canaan frowned. He was a little puzzled as to how the private party that Gouvert said could be held in such a place.
It was estimated that there was not much time until the meeting started, so Canaan had no choice but to walk in slowly. With the faint light, Canaan stopped in front of a building, and the wooden sign not far away read: "44 Valente Street"
At this time, a figure suddenly jumped out from the fence of the front house, and shouted in a low voice: "Little one, this is not the place you should come."
"Sir, I have an invitation letter!" Canaan took out the invitation letter that started to glow red from his arms. He took it as a reminder that the time for the party was about to begin.
What a personal invitation!
"Why does he still invite children?" The black figure muttered, then waved to Canaan, and said, "Then come with me!"
Canaan went up and found that the man was wearing brown linen clothes, and the long brim of the hat covered his head, making it difficult to see his face clearly. It's a bit like the costume of the mysterious man in the magic movie.
"After entering, just find a place to sit down. You may be able to brag about it for the rest of your life if you can participate in this kind of gathering." The man exaggeratedly asked Canaan.
"Okay, sir." Canaan nodded in response. He was looking forward to the content of this party.
He led Canaan into the room, feeling the strong light in the room, Canaan narrowed his eyes slightly.
There is a lot of space in the house, as big as half a football field. Light and bright, palatial. It seems to be mainly in the golden red style, even the ceiling has cast scene magic, a huge fire cloud floats above the head, and the afterglow reflects Canaan's little face red.
There were also quite a few wizards inside, probably dozens of them, and they gathered together in a group, discussing something cheerfully. There were also a few house elves who brought various snacks and red wine from time to time, and dressed everyone up. The whole picture is like a scene of a gathering of top aristocrats.
Canaan walked in, found a remote place and sat down. He didn't know anyone here.
He heard that the nearest group of people seemed to be discussing intensely about alchemy, so he looked up curiously. The person who led the conversation wore a long-sleeved shirt with tightly tied cuffs, thick socks on his feet, and layers of cloth wrapped around his head. He looked like an Indian.
"Don't underestimate me, I will definitely take the first place this time." He spoke with a fluent Indian accent,
Undoubtedly an Indian.
"Come on, Azik, you said the same thing last year. Last time you couldn't even complete the basic combined magic circle within the stipulated time, so it probably won't work this time." A black wizard in the crowd laughed.
"I don't believe it either, Azik, you should go back to India and be your history professor. Alchemy is not suitable for you." Another white wizard in the crowd mocked.
Everyone immediately burst into laughter.
"Fuck you Luo Ruisi, I don't like you a long time ago." Azik raised his beard, cursed loudly, and punched him when he went up.
"Damn Indian, you dare to strike first." The white wizard covered his face with an incredulous expression.
…
Canaan looked at the scene in front of him with interest. It is not common for wizards to fight with bare hands. But soon the two were held back by the people around them, and the crowd slowly dispersed.
Before the party started, green flames burst out from the fireplace in the house from time to time, and then wizards emerged one by one. There are also some wizards who appeared directly in the house, and it seems that they used phantom to transfer here.
Canaan also saw Dumbledore, who had just appeared in the house with an old man with unkempt brown hair. And he seemed to notice Canaan's gaze, he nodded slightly to Canaan.
The old man beside him looked at him and smiled gently at Canaan.
Dumbledore's prestige in the wizarding world is indeed extraordinary. As soon as he appeared, many wizards approached him cordially with red wine and chatted.
Looking at Dumbledore surrounded by the crowd, Canaan heaved a sigh of relief. He doesn't want to have too much communication with Dumbledore right now, unless he can reasonably explain how his magical talent came about.
After taking a sip of the sweet and sour orange juice in the goblet, Canaan took another piece of cake and chewed it carefully. This was specially sent by the house elf just now. Knowing that Canaan is underage, it also prepared extra orange juice for Canaan.
"Canaan Bryan?" The old man standing beside Dumbledore came to Canaan at some point.
"Oh, hello, who are you?" Canaan immediately stood up politely.
"I think that kid Rove should have introduced me. My name is Newt Scamander." Newt said gently, his voice sounded familiar.
"I know that you, the author of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", have also done a lot to deal with the first generation of Dark Lord Grindelwald." Canaan said pleasantly. He looked at the old man in front of him, with disheveled hair and loose tie, looking unkempt.
"You know a lot. Um, can I sit down and have some cake?" Newt begged, pointing to the dark chocolate cake on the table.
"Of course, please sit down."
"I came here in a hurry at night, and I didn't have time to eat dinner." He took a large piece of cake and stuffed it into his mouth, not paying attention to his image.
"Aren't you with Dumbledore?"
"I don't like places with a lot of people. If it weren't for this gathering, I wouldn't have come." Newt said inarticulately with a lot of bread stuffed in his mouth.
"You can eat slowly, don't worry." Canaan poured a glass of orange juice for Newt, and then asked, "Who organized this party? Is it related to alchemy?" At that time, Guwet sent him an invitation letter At the time, there was not much information at all.
"You don't know?" Newt asked in surprise.
"Oh, I'm really not sure, the thing is like this..." Canaan told Newt about his meeting with Gouvet.
"So that's the case." Newt nodded, took a sip of orange juice and said slowly: "This party was organized by Guvitt privately. It has been held five times, and this is the sixth time. You also know that he is famous Alchemist, so every gathering is also based on the theme of alchemy."
"Every gathering, Guwitt will invite alchemists from all over the world to attend. They discuss alchemy knowledge and exchange thoughts and insights. Later, this gathering became more and more famous, and many alchemists couldn't find their way." Newt stopped at this time. He got down and took a look at Canaan, as if to say: You are such a lucky little guy.
"By the way, the last part of the party is for participants to take out their favorite alchemy items. If they can win the first place, they will be rewarded with 5,000 Galleons!"
"How much?" Canaan asked in surprise.
"5000 Galleons!" Newt held out five fingers.
"He is really rich." Canaan said enviously. He was a book writer and a performer, and the money he earned in Diagon Alley for so long did not add up to 5,000 Galleons.
"His family is one of the richest families in France. Just look at this house and these house elves." Newt smiled at Canaan's expression, and continued: "Dumbledore He is here to attend this gathering on behalf of Nicole Flamel."
