American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#127 - Madripo Island

Madripoor Island, a core port city in Southeast Asia, is a small island with a diameter of 160 kilometers, handling 40% of the Pacific shipping traffic.

The island has a unique terrain, with a central plateau exceeding 2,000 meters in elevation and cliffs along the island's edge.

Consequently, the island's economic structure is also unique, crudely divided into the High Town and Low Town, with an extreme disparity in wealth.

The upper class virtually controls all businesses, living a corrupt and luxurious life, while the lower class consists mostly of impoverished people and runaway criminals.

Adding to this, the area is a haven for pirates, with an unbelievably strong pirate culture, making the security situation imaginable.

Sovereign Hotel, the 103rd-floor presidential suite.

Madame Viper sat in front of the large French window, calmly watching the scenery outside.

A verdant green python coiled behind her, its bright yellow vertical pupils opening and closing intermittently, its tongue flicking slightly.

A soft ringtone sounded, and a virtual light screen projected from the wide sofa armrest.

The screen flickered, showing a man in combat gear. His face was obscured by large infrared displays, and his half-length hair resembled a lion's mane.

His expression was indifferent, and he didn't seem to show much respect to Madame Viper, simply saying, "It's almost time!"

Madame Viper chuckled, "Oh? The Hand's little dogs are all coming out?"

"You've been searching conspicuously for more than ten days and put a huge bounty on the Princess Bar, blowing all the rats out of the sewers. Where else could the Hand hide?"

The man tilted the camera, revealing the sea in the frame.

"The coastal defense line has already been deployed. The fleet you mentioned hasn't appeared. Has something changed?"

Madame Viper narrowed her eyes in satisfaction. "No, this is the best news!"

From the beginning, Madame Viper never expected Kingpin to help her.

She paid $300 million for him to remain neutral.

It's important to know that Kingpin's power is so great that even Hydra is deeply wary of it.

The Hand was already troublesome enough; Kingpin's involvement would create too much uncertainty.

If Madame Viper's forces suffered too many losses, other snakeheads might launch an internal war of conquest.

There is no such thing as unity and friendship in Hydra.

Whoever has the bigger fist has the right to speak.

At this moment, the man's ears twitched slightly, and he parted his lips to reveal two rows of shark-like fangs. "They're here!"

Madame Viper said calmly, "I've been waiting for them. The waves have been very rough these past two days. Hopefully, this offering will satisfy the Sea Dragon King."

The man scoffed, "You still believe in that? How could such a thing exist!"

Madame Viper said meaningfully, "There are always things hidden very deep in this world, wouldn't you agree, Chen?"

The man's expression stiffened, he snorted, and the screen went black.

Madame Viper reached out and swiped, switching the black screen to a radar map, which was completely silent.

She snorted softly and snapped her fingers.

A stream of green, smoky energy danced and merged into the light screen in front of her. Then, three dense clusters of green dots flashed on the radar.

She curled her lips slightly: "John! You can tell those cannon fodder to move out!"

From behind the wide chair, a strong white-haired man walked out. His skin was dull, he wore a snake-patterned suit, and his eyes were snake-like vertical pupils.

"Madam, are you talking about those allies?"

"You could say that!"

Madame Viper said indifferently, "The things I asked you to prepare?"

"They've been buried according to plan! But..." John hesitated slightly and said, "The red mercury bomb is incredibly powerful. According to laboratory calculations, if it detonates, Madripoor Island will lose a third of its land. Not only will all the ports be destroyed, but even the freighters on the docks will be difficult to escape..."

"John!"

Madame Viper interrupted him, "Do you think the Hand's actions will attract the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"Are you saying that S.H.I.E.L.D. might discover us?"

"Not might, definitely!"

Madame Viper sneered, "Perhaps it was Pierce's personal instruction. His expenses are high, and Fury isn't that easy to control. Dancing on a tightrope, he will eventually fall."

John was stunned for a moment and said, "So this entire operation is to demonstrate our strength? You've been planning for over a month, just to fight internally with the North American division?"

Madame Viper snorted softly, without speaking.

Teaming up with the New York Mafia, opposing the Hand, and even spending a lot of money on bounties were all smokescreens.

Her main purpose was to expose her identity, so that S.H.I.E.L.D. would launch another crackdown on Hydra.

Then Pierce would not have time to covet her territory.

If the plan goes smoothly, not only will Madripoor Island be preserved, but it will also be possible to directly insert a hand into New York.

Give Pierce a counterattack.

John came back to his senses, his eyes filled with excitement.

"I see, sending the power of the Hand and the New York Mafia to heaven together, no one in the New York underworld will be able to stop us. As long as we are wary of Kingpin, we can even steal Pierce's core business. I'll go prepare!"

With that, he clapped his hands and strode out.

Looking at his back, Madame Viper's lips curled into a smile: "Not only that, but after today, the New York Mafia and the Hand will be mortal enemies. They have no choice but to turn to us.

After all, Madam Gao is Kingpin's partner!"

At this moment, outside the huge French window, several clusters of fire suddenly rose.

It was in the direction of the Low Town, also the Hand's landing point.

The battle has already begun!

Madame Viper got up, took a step, shattered the glass, and jumped onto the observation deck above.

The whistling wind filled her ears, mixed with a hint of blood and the smell of gunpowder in the salty sea breeze.

Madame Viper took a deep breath, her expression slightly intoxicated.

At this time, the Low Town had become a battlefield.

Gunfire and explosions could be heard everywhere, screams, blood, and death intertwined, hidden in the darkness, creating cruel works of art, life becoming the cheapest thing at this moment.

No one knew that, at an altitude of thousands of meters, a man in black clothes and a white trench coat was standing quietly in the air, listening to the screams, breathing the fragrance of souls, waiting for midnight to arrive.
