American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#1312 - Fighting Back

In the corridor, the intense battle between Akame and Tobi had shattered the concrete slabs between floors, and the aftermath of their fight had riddled the surrounding walls with holes. They had moved from the third floor to the first.

But the situation remained deadlocked.

Strictly speaking, Tobi's body was no longer human. Each cell and tissue had been skillfully replaced with steel by Dr. Stylish.

The surface was as hard as iron, yet he retained his self-awareness. The intricate nature of his internal structure far surpassed that of ordinary mechanical puppets.

He could match Akame in both speed and strength, but the unique composition of his body prevented Akame's Teigu from achieving its intended effect.

“Akame-dono, it is an honor to fight you. However, time is almost up. Allow me to finish you off!”

After a burst of sparks, the two crossed paths once more. Tobi kicked a large hole in the wall, using the slight recoil to perform two somersaults in the air before landing steadily on the ground.

The entire process was smooth and natural, marking him as a master.

Tobi's ice blades, attached to his feet, were crafted from an unknown material. They were not only incredibly sturdy but also far sharper than ordinary blades. Even with the ground covered in rubble, Tobi could move without any issues.

Any stones blocking his path were effortlessly sliced in two by the ice blades.

Each time he crossed paths with Akame, the ground was cut into even finer pieces, which is why the floor slabs continued to break apart.

Akame flicked her long sword to the right, the blade covered in dense runes. This was the unique effect of Murasame: one strike, certain death!

As long as she could create a wound and expose her opponent to the blood, no matter how powerful they were, they would instantly die a gruesome death.

Akame's eyes narrowed, and she lunged forward.

The two engaged in a fierce and swift battle, filled with killing intent. Tobi's movements were agile and expansive, showing no intention of defending.

Akame's weapon was indeed unable to harm him. No matter where she struck, only sparks would fly, with no effect.

However, Tobi's weapon could certainly injure Akame.

Two blades were connected to his forearms, and when spun, they acted like meat grinders, capable of instantly turning anything they touched into mincemeat.

Suddenly, Tobi slightly opened his jaw, revealing a machine gun inside his mouth.

His eyes filled with manic glee as he opened fire without hesitation.

Bullets sprayed out like a metal storm, instantly engulfing the entire corridor.

Akame swung her long sword, defending the space in front of her with an impenetrable guard, sending sparks flying.

She retreated rapidly.

Tobi laughed maniacally, chasing after her like a madman. His hands and forearms transformed again, revealing more gun barrels. Two dark muzzles also emerged from his chest, multiplying the sound of gunfire several times over.

Akame was shocked. Despite facing such a precarious situation, she remained calm and cautious, without a trace of fear.

Having been born into an assassination squad and surviving such a terrifying attrition rate, her spirit had long been tempered. Even if she were about to die in the next second, Akame probably wouldn't even frown.

But undeniably, the current situation was not good.

Just as Akame was assessing her surroundings and considering how to break the deadlock, a thick beam of energy suddenly shot upwards from below, piercing through the corridor wall and engulfing Tobi completely.

After a surge of energy that lasted for several seconds, the fortress was pierced. A petite figure walked out of the smooth hole, still wearing a hint of disdain on her face.

She kicked a steel faceplate into the distance with her small foot, sneering, “Akame, you've regressed! You haven't finished him off after all this time!”

Akame remained expressionless, lowered her long sword, and relaxed her fighting stance, saying, “This guy is naturally my counter. I can't deal with him!”

“How troublesome. Hurry up and come with me. I saw Boss has already returned. It's just some invaders; don't make him do it himself, or it will make us look incompetent!”

Mine furrowed her brow and simply said a few words to Akame before striding out with her exaggerated sniper rifle.

Akame had no objections, carrying her long sword and slowly following behind, remaining vigilant.

Meanwhile, Leone finally discovered Tatsumi's death. Shocked, she also fell into extreme rage. She had personally brought this little guy to the banquet, and he had already inherited Incursio and was about to become a capable warrior, but he had died senselessly in this attack.

Leone flew into a rage, instantly transforming into her beast form. The mustached man in military uniform, with a very arrogant demeanor,

After enduring several blows by using the advantage of his modified body, Leone directly tore the weapon in his hand into pieces with her claws. In that moment of stunned silence, the mustached man was beheaded by Leone.

His large head flew through the air, but there was no blood. The headless body seemed to have triggered some mechanism, and after a tremor, it exploded violently.

Standing on the giant flying Danger Beast, Najenda crossed her arms and slightly raised the corners of her mouth.

“Although the divination showed an ominous sign, it is clear that our Night Raid members are not pushovers either. Even if we hadn't returned, there shouldn't have been any major problems!”

“But since remote assistance has already arrived, there's no need to hide it. New members, show yourselves!”

Before Najenda could finish speaking, two figures kneeling in the back suddenly flipped off the back of the flying Danger Beast. Like a falling star, they crashed onto the ground with a loud bang.

The ground caved in, cracked into a spiderweb pattern, and the surrounding invader grunts were blown away by the sudden blast of air.

A mysterious person swept horizontally with a strange weapon, cutting them all into uniform pieces of flesh, scattered all over the ground.

He rested the weapon slightly on the ground, his cloak fluttering in the wind, revealing a middle-aged man wearing a peculiar kimono and sporting ox horns on his head!
