American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#135 - Is the Rainbow Bridge tilted?
The children led the two to a stairwell.
An oil tanker was parked in the open space below.
It was an abandoned oil tanker, and the dilapidated state of the tires indicated that it had been left there for a long time.
One of the children glanced at the two of them, stepped forward, and gently lifted the heavy oil tanker on its side.
The oil tanker seemed to have lost its balance and was directly overturned, then slowly rolled in the air.
The surrounding gravity was clearly normal, only in this small central area was there a noticeable gravitational anomaly.
Seeing this situation that defied scientific common sense, Jane's breathing quickened, her pupils dilated slightly, and she couldn't help but want to step forward.
At this moment, Jessica pulled her back and pointed upwards.
The two of them, along with the children, walked up the spiral staircase.
One of the children walked to the top floor and, under everyone's gaze, dropped a half-empty bottle of mineral water.
Initially, the free fall was perfectly normal, without any abnormalities. Just as the water bottle was about to touch the ground, it disappeared and then reappeared above everyone's heads.
It began to free fall again.
In this way, the water bottle appeared and disappeared repeatedly before everyone's eyes, as if it were constantly free-falling from an endless height, its speed increasing linearly.
Until finally, the water bottle suddenly disappeared and never reappeared.
Jessica exclaimed, "What happened? Where did the bottle go?"
A child tilted his head: "Sometimes they come back, and sometimes they just disappear, isn't it amazing?"
Jane, holding a detector, said in disbelief, "This value, it's simply impossible! This is clearly London, why is there a quantum reaction in Southeast Asia?"
"This feeling is like…"
"That time in New Mexico?" Jessica said playfully.
Jane paused slightly, then strode out.
"Don't touch anything!"
Outside, thunderclouds rolled. The weather had been fine just a moment ago, but in the blink of an eye, it became overcast, and heavy rain poured down.
Nearby people hurriedly looked for shelter, but Jane stared blankly at a dry, circular clearing in front of her.
Jessica came after her.
"Jane, where are you going? Guess what we just found?"
Before she could finish speaking, she exclaimed in surprise, "Look, what's that?"
Jane looked up and saw a familiar swirling cloud extending downwards, its target being the circular clearing in front of her.
She couldn't help but cover her mouth, her face filled with disbelief.
"He… is he coming?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the cloud that had been extending downwards suddenly took a turn, heading southeast.
"Where are you going?"
"Southeast Asia!" Jane said firmly.
"What about the Doctor? He's still asking at the police station!"
After uttering those words, Jane floored the accelerator, and the Little Red Car sped off, performing a beautiful drift and disappearing from Jessica's sight.
Jessica, with her hand outstretched, blankly uttered the second half of her sentence: "Then what am I… going to do?"
---
Madripoor Island, the battlefield seethed with murderous intent.
Everything on the island had become a tool to showcase the might of both sides. This pearl of Southeast Asia had been reduced to ruins in just a few hours.
It must be said that the discovery of Pym Particles was fortunate for the Marvel world.
If it hadn't been for Hawkeye rushing around to save the day, shooting the huge psychic creatures into the size of small dogs with his arrows,
the Avengers would probably have been completely wiped out by now.
But even so,
they suffered heavy losses.
Hulk had been beaten to the point of completely losing his mind, and after losing his opponent, he instinctively turned his anger towards his surroundings.
This new recruit of the demolition team was very ambitious. His two huge fists were like battering rams, smashing anything they encountered, whether it was people or buildings.
The Animal Path, which had been entangled with him before, had long since disappeared.
However, a huge psychic creature would still suddenly dart out, trying to attack Hawkeye, who was constantly shrinking the creatures.
Unfortunately, the psychic creatures were too large a target, making them easy prey for the archer.
Iron Man was racking his brains in worry.
He had used energy attacks, missile weapons, including subsonic weapons, on the dog in front of him.
But other than causing the dog's heads to multiply, there was no reaction at all.
Not even a scratch, let alone a bruise.
And the price for the dog's heads to grow to twenty or thirty was the exhaustion of the Iron Man family's energy.
Currently, Tony Stark only had the suit he was wearing left.
If it hadn't been for Hawkeye rushing to the rescue, Iron Man, who could only act cool with his equipment, might have already kicked the bucket.
The Chibaku Tensei, floating in mid-air, finally broke through the surface to the passage of the Quinjet after accepting about 10 minutes of continuous laser cutting from the Sky Carrier.
Natasha, who had been trapped for a long time, was rescued.
Thus, the Six Paths of Pain had only deployed three, and they had already beaten the Avengers to the point of having no power to fight back.
But the good news was that the Asura Path had been ambushed and destroyed by Iron Man.
The opponent had at least lost one member.
The emergency response team also cooperated very well, creating temporary, seamless cages made of pure Adamantium alloy and sending them to the battlefield.
They cooperated with Hawkeye to trap the shrunk psychic beasts one by one in the cages.
Then, before the opponent could react, they quickly evacuated.
Pain had actually discovered S.H.I.E.L.D.'s small actions long ago, but he didn't pay attention to them.
Firstly, there were plenty of psychic beasts, and secondly, even space couldn't stop the summoning of psychic beasts, let alone a mere cage.
Before the opponent figured out how to use chakra, they would not be able to cut off the Summoning Technique!
Throughout the entire battle, Pain stood there indifferently, without any intention of interfering in the battle.
On the Sky Carrier, the analysis experts were about to break their heads.
Pain had only said a few words in total from his appearance until now, and his actions were limited to stretching out his hands. There wasn't even enough material to analyze, so what could they analyze?
But the higher-ups were urging them, so in order to keep their jobs, they could only make up stories.
They classified Pain's indifferent performance as strong self-confidence and a trump card.
And this was exactly what Fury was worried about, so the main gun on the carrier had been on standby, always locked on Pain, but no order to fire had been issued.
