American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#238 - Zaraki vs Ryoma

“A formal introduction? Very well!”

A light seemed to shine on his face, brightening his features.

This person had a peculiar appearance, dressed in attire similar to a kimono, with a black base and white haori. His right eye was covered by a black eyepatch, and a scar ran from his left eye down to his chin.

“I am Kenpachi Zaraki, captain of the Eleventh Division, and I have come to fight you!”

As his slightly hoarse voice fell, a powerful spiritual pressure surged forth.

The invisible air instantly transformed into a sea, the intense water pressure making it hard to breathe.

Before Ryoma could react, Johnny collapsed to the ground with a thud.

He was like a turtle pinned down by a giant rock, unable to crawl up no matter how hard he tried.

The immense pressure made him breathe rapidly, and red spots appeared on his skin, as if he was about to transform.

But the other three didn't even glance at him.

Qi Shan remained calm and collected, clearly hearing the cracking sounds near his ear.

It was coming from Ryoma's body, the sound of bones unable to withstand the heavy pressure.

Ryoma was no longer as relaxed as he had been initially, solemnly raising his sword and praising, “As expected of a master swordsman, possessing such power with just your aura. You didn't deceive me after all!”

“Enough with the nonsense, come and attack! It's been a long time since I've cut anything, and I'm getting impatient!”

Kenpachi Zaraki grinned, revealing his stark white teeth.

“Is that so? That's perfect then!”

Ryoma held his scabbard level, slowly drawing his sword. “Haiku San Ding, Arrowtail Cut!”

Clang!

The sword guard struck the scabbard, making a light sound.

Kenpachi Zaraki narrowed his eyes and said, “Not bad…”

Whoosh!

Before he could finish speaking, a flash of sword light appeared out of nowhere, his chest suddenly bursting open, and blood splattering out.

Kenpachi Zaraki lowered his head slightly, smiling even more joyfully.

“…Natural stance, movements that seem full of openings, but actually are alert at every point. Is this the speed you pride yourself on? If it's only to this extent, you're still far from it!”

Ryoma chuckled a few times, “Indeed, you seem very strong, causing a feeling I've never experienced before to well up within me, like I'm fighting a giant creature, my life in danger at any moment, yet I can't suppress the inexplicable excitement, my body can't help but want to dance!”

Whoosh!

Before he finished speaking, his Zanpakuto came down, cleaving straight at his head.

Clang!

Ryoma drew a section of his blade, just in time to block the Zanpakuto.

The two faced off, their arms as steady as bedrock.

“I let you have one move earlier, but it was just a scratch. I was a little disappointed, but now it seems you're more to my liking! Ha!”

Kenpachi Zaraki scoffed lightly, his strength erupting.

The ground rippled like waves, centered on Ryoma, the force spreading outwards, cracking the ground inch by inch.

The furniture in the room instantly exploded into a cloud of wood chips.

Ryoma leaped into the air, drawing his sword and aiming it straight at Kenpachi Zaraki's head.

Kenpachi Zaraki said, “What's wrong? Hey, is that all you've got? That's really disappointing.”

Ryoma chuckled, “Is that so? I'm quite satisfied!”

Crack, crack, crack, crack…

On the wall behind him, a huge crack split open, a large amount of sand and dirt spewing out, a corner of the ceiling slowly sliding open, disappearing from everyone's sight.

Boom!

Smoke billowed, the ground shaking.

Johnny, who was lying on the ground, stared blankly, completely stunned.

The aftermath of the two's fight had freed him from the ground and flung him to the side, allowing him to see the scene of the roof being cut off.

His worldview was collapsing.

How could a small knife have such power? It's simply unscientific!

Qi Shan's expression was calm.

This little commotion was nothing. Kenpachi Zaraki was a powerful figure who could change the terrain, his spiritual body frighteningly strong.

Although Ryoma was formidable, he was still limited by his physical strength, and failure was only a matter of time.

Qi Shan looked up towards the huge mast of the island.

He felt like Perona had returned.

Strange, why would she return? What was Moria up to now?

Time waits for no one. It's daytime now, which is advantageous to us. If the battle drags on until night, a zombie riot will break out, and all sorts of monsters will come out, easily leading to being surrounded.

Moreover, Moria's power is at its strongest at that time.

Without having to worry about the sun, he can use the power of shadows as he pleases.

Besides, swordsman duels aren't that interesting, so we should speed things up.

Having made up his mind, Qi Shan turned to walk outside.

“Johnny, leave this place to Kenpachi, we…”

Qi Shan turned his head, but Johnny in the corner had already disappeared without a trace.

In the place where he disappeared, there were a few pieces of spider web-like things sticking.

“Crap! I forgot about the spider!”

Qi Shan patted his forehead and shook his head, “Forget it, it's the same whether he's here or not.”

Qi Shan only regretted it for a second, then threw Johnny to the back of his mind and slowly walked out of the mansion.

The Ghost Rider's ability can restrain evil spirits.

But when facing zombies driven by a different core, there is absolutely no way to deal with them, and the only way to solve them is to activate Hellfire.

There are thousands of zombies of all kinds on this island.

If it were just Johnny, who knows how long it would take to burn them all.

Moreover, with his mediocre skills, it is estimated that any zombie general could easily defeat him.

Originally, Qi Shan called him here just to see if the protagonist's great fortune could bring some turning point.

To make this invasion mission easier to solve.

But now it seems that the invading boss is still very awesome, not only forcibly tearing apart the movie plane of others, but also not treating the protagonist as a human at all.

Inside the mansion, the two gradually let go, and the power of the battle rose sharply.

“Prelude Touching Sword Attack!”

Clang clang clang…

The sound of blades clashing was like a storm, Ryoma's arm dancing with afterimages, as if a dozen swords were attacking at the same time.

Kenpachi Zaraki carelessly swung his Zanpakuto, and although his moves were wide open, with the coordination of his steps, he made sure that Ryoma's attacks completely missed.

“Being able to break through my spiritual pressure defense with just strength and swordsmanship is truly amazing. I can't help but wonder what it would be like if you could use spiritual pressure…”

Kenpachi Zaraki said with a hint of regret, casually wielding his Zanpakuto, and waves of sword energy flew out wantonly, splitting the entire mansion into pieces, with continuous rumbling sounds.

However, the dust filled the air, but it did not affect the battle between the two. Having reached their level, the battle no longer relied solely on vision, any sense could be extended to form a special sensory domain.

The battle between the two constantly erupted with strong gusts of wind, like a wind eye blowing dust and gravel in all directions.

Kenpachi Zaraki said with some regret, “…It's a pity you don't have a soul!”
