American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#349 - Attack of Misty

Misty lazily walked into the police station and slammed her head on the front desk.

The front desk receptionist was a fat woman, and besides the computer and stationery rack, her wide desk was covered with cosmetics and snacks.

The fat woman was pouting in the mirror while popping potato chips into her mouth.

Seeing Misty's daily head-slamming, she didn't even lift her eyelids, and asked casually, "What's wrong now? Haven't you already been demoted from patrol officer to the lost and found department? What else are you dissatisfied with?"

"Shut up, Tania. There is no lost and found department in the police station at all. Even if you put all the lost and found cases in my hands, I'm still a patrol officer!"

"Is that so?" Tania replied uninterestedly.

Misty rolled her eyes, raised her head, grabbed the huge bag of potato chips, grabbed a large handful and stuffed them into her mouth.

"Hey, those are my chips!"

"What's the matter? I'm hungry! Don't you know, I'm so annoyed by these trivial things every day!

This morning, I ran to four places in a row. A private museum said they lost a shield, the aquarium lost a big turtle, the ghost factory that was making a lot of noise last night said they lost a very important trophy, and the most outrageous thing was an underground boxer who reported that he lost a mask?

Excuse me? I can't wait to kick him into the trash can!

Listen, is this what a person would say?"

Tania didn't feel anything: "I think it's good! There's something to do, so you don't have to patrol the streets all day and ruin your skin!"

"Really?" Misty rolled her eyes.

Tania shrugged.

Misty sighed and slammed her head on the table.

"God, save me! This is completely different from the police life I imagined! I want to catch super criminals, arrest demons, evil scientists or aliens, and I don't want to be stuck in these trivial things every day.

It makes me feel like I'm prematurely aging and becoming a 70-year-old woman!"

Tania glanced at her watch unhurriedly: "You can complain for another two minutes, or go to the bathroom. Chief Stacy wants you to see him at eleven o'clock this morning!"

Misty suddenly raised her head: "When did that happen?"

Only then did Tania nod in satisfaction, put a few blueberries in her mouth and savored them carefully, then picked up the small mirror again and kept looking left and right.

In the chief's office, Misty pushed the door open and walked in.

"Boss, you wanted to see me?"

John looked up, put down the documents in his hand, and nodded: "Come in!"

Misty closed the door and sat down in front of the desk.

John took off his glasses and put them aside, looked her up and down, and said, "You've been here for almost two months, right? What are your thoughts?"

Misty pouted: "Boring! It's all trivial things every day. Once an abnormal situation occurs, we either retreat immediately or are taken over by other departments. It makes us police officers seem to be specialized in doing chores."

"It's no wonder you have this kind of mentality. After all, you are an intern at the police academy, and your grades in all subjects are top-notch."

John nodded: "Since you still think so, then this opportunity can be recommended to you!"

"What opportunity?" Misty knew there was something good, her eyes widened, emitting a light of anticipation.

"The Sky Eye Society has issued a document! It is aimed at the increasingly serious public security situation. The Sky Eye Society is preparing to take the lead and form an organization similar to the Avengers League within the police force to specifically suppress super criminals! You..."

Before John could finish speaking, Misty nodded repeatedly: "That's great, this is exactly what I want, I'm joining! I must join!"

"Listen to me first!" John raised his hand and pressed down, and said, "This special police force is extremely dangerous, and the casualties will definitely be high, but correspondingly, the higher-ups will allocate more resources and support."

"No problem! I understand!" Misty nodded repeatedly.

"I heard that the technology department above has made a major breakthrough and produced a lot of good things. The special police force has just been established, and maybe we can get a few novel gadgets."

Misty had a serious face: "Boss, stop talking! No matter what the danger, I want to join."

"Okay!" John shook his head and took the document he had just read. The confidential seal on the cover was clearly visible.

"Take a look, this is your trial mission!"

Misty's eyes lit up, and she quickly took it over and looked at it carefully.

"The Black Hand Gang, activity range unknown, threat unknown, number of members unknown. The gang leader is called Valmont, and he is a white man. This is his photo!"

John first pushed a photo over, and then threw out three more.

"These three people are called Ratsu, Finn, and Chow, and they are all Valmont's subordinates.

The Black Hand Gang is good at hiding and has nothing to do with other gangs in New York. In fact, very few people have even heard of them."

"This is the Golden Dragon Statue - Shendu."

John pushed over another computer-generated image and said, "According to the news from above, Shendu should be a demon handed down from ancient times and has its own consciousness.

Initially, he possessed god-like abilities and did evil everywhere, and people suffered deeply. Therefore, they worked together to seal it, and the ability was divided into twelve parts and scattered outside.

And the main purpose of the Black Hand Gang should be to help Shendu regain his superpowers and break the seal! Crap... bullshit, I can't believe I actually said such a thing seriously!"

John slapped his forehead with a look of depression.

"If it were a few years earlier, if anyone dared to say anything about demons or aliens in front of me, I would kick him into the toilet!"

"The world is different!"

Misty said seriously: "Boss, reality cannot be avoided, even if it is so absurd and ridiculous, it is equally helpless. Ever since a hole suddenly opened in the sky and a large group of aliens poured out, this world has changed.

We can't change reality, we can only change ourselves! Look, the higher-ups are also trying, and we can't give up either!"

John shook his head, slightly emotional.

Misty tucked the folder under her arm and said, "I accept this mission and will definitely find the Black Hand Gang."

"Hey, you..."

"I know, report any abnormalities in time! Got it, I'm leaving first, boss! Gotta study the case!"

After saying that, Misty turned and left without waiting for John to answer.

John looked at the closed office door and sighed, "Good luck, kid!"
