American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#434 - Igo's Delusion

In the dark, dense forest, the Totoro concealed itself atop a giant tree. Its once adorable and docile little head was now three times its original size, its fangs interlocked, its state ferocious.

Copious amounts of saliva dripped from its mouth, running down the tree trunk and onto the soil.

Shadows flickered around it as a group of creatures, bizarre in appearance and varying in size, gathered in a circle, their fierce eyes fixed on the Totoro.

A cold wind howled, the forest rustling and whispering. A few leaves fell, and the battle was instantly triggered.

With strange growls, the ferocious beasts lunged one after another.

The Totoro suddenly revealed itself, a gurgling sound emanating from its throat. Its size abruptly expanded more than tenfold, and it opened its blood-soaked maw, repeatedly tearing, biting, and devouring.

As it twisted and turned, its enormous head instantly swelled and shrank. More than a dozen beasts were swallowed into its belly within a few short seconds.

Afterward, the Totoro returned to the tree, reverting to its original form and hiding itself once more.

Washed by saliva, traces of blood from its mouth dripped onto the ground, emitting a faint bloody scent.

Shadows flickered in the distance, and the sound of twigs being crushed underfoot could be faintly heard.

Undoubtedly, the next wave of food was on its way.

From the moment the Totoro began lurking here, this area had inexplicably become a black hole. A large number of beasts came to investigate, only to be devoured in a flash.

This was a living planet, and all the animals on the planet were Ego.

Naturally, it wouldn't give up easily. To figure out what was happening, more and more beasts appeared, growing larger and larger, their combat power becoming increasingly fierce.

Some ancient trees suddenly opened their eyes, slowly extracting their roots, gradually approaching this area.

With the Totoro attracting some of the attention, Qi Shan and Pena's infiltration was relatively smooth.

It wasn't until they used their superpowers to delve more than ten kilometers into the Earth's crust that they were discovered by the neural network hidden within the surface.

Subsequently, a large number of neural networks suddenly detonated, forming something akin to a mudslide, but containing attacking tentacles within.

They constantly attacked Qi Shan, but their immense impact and devouring power had no effect on Qi Shan's superpower shield.

After several attempts, Ego finally changed its strategy, beginning to manipulate the soil to deform, attempting to squeeze Qi Shan out using immense pressure.

The result proved that it was completely useless.

Superpowers didn't care whether the obstruction was mud, sand, or diamond, they would pierce through it all.

They continued onward without stopping, heading directly towards the Earth's core.

"Looks like he's discovered us!" Pena warily drew her weapon, assuming a defensive stance.

"He discovered us long ago, but he shouldn't have time to bother with us right now."

Qi Shan smiled and said, "He has spent thousands of years of effort, searching for countless lives and civilizations to reproduce offspring, all in order to obtain a child with Celestial genes, to fulfill his almost delusional wish.

Now that the target is right in front of him, he won't expend much effort to target us before resolving Star-Lord!

But speaking of which, the ability to manipulate molecules is truly terrifying!"

With a wave of his hand, Qi Shan shattered a suddenly emerging metallic stone pillar and continued towards the Earth's core.

On the other side, Ego, as Qi Shan had predicted, merely paused for a moment before making his choice.

As a Celestial, he was virtually immortal.

Even if he were blown to smithereens, as long as a single nerve cell survived, he could regenerate.

Human civilization, even now, has no way to deal with planets.

Star Destroyers might be able to shatter a planet, but they cannot obliterate it.

Therefore, no matter who he fought, he was invincible.

Star-Lord was the most important thing right now.

However, the plan could be appropriately accelerated to ensure the planet's brain was not damaged.

He smiled slightly, and the spacious hall was gradually enveloped by a layer of transparent shell.

The Guardians of the Galaxy immediately became alert.

"What are you talking about?"

The pupils of the five Guardians of the Galaxy constricted, and they vehemently denied it.

They didn't know why they had suddenly been exposed.

Ego smiled and said, "It doesn't matter. Peter, your body contains my genes. When I discovered your existence, do you know how excited I was?"

"What exactly do you mean?"

Ego waved his hand, and a giant, eggshell-shaped stage appeared before them.

On it appeared a man wearing a red jacket, resembling a Beatles look from the 80s. Judging from the simple contours of his face, it was Ego himself.

"You see, I am the earliest life in the universe. I don't know how long I slept in the universe. Suddenly one day I discovered that I could control the tiny molecules in the universe.

So I gathered these molecules and wrapped them around myself layer by layer, like other planets, forming a true planet.

I created life, propagated nature, and had a great time, but suddenly one day I realized that no matter how many life forms there were on this planet, they were essentially just me.

So from that day on, I had the idea of going out to find other life forms. The universe is boundless, it's impossible for me to be the only life!"

The five Guardians of the Galaxy listened with furrowed brows, unable to find the main point.

Ego sighed, "How excited I was when I set off. How disappointed I was when I found these lives. After thousands of years, I finally understood.

The other lives I have been trying to find are not my kind. They are just ants, little things newly born in the soil, not worthy of standing shoulder to shoulder with me.

Their lives are so fragile, even the long-lived ones only live for a thousand years. Compared to our innate, almost eternal lives, it's just an insignificant moment."

Ego slowly walked to Star-Lord and said, "So I formulated a plan! I call it the Expansion Plan."

Ego reached out, and a large number of planet models appeared in the air, all kinds of them.

Each one that appeared quickly shrunk and embedded itself in its position, making fixed movements, quickly forming a brilliant star map.

"In the past few thousand years, I have implanted tens of thousands of my own avatars on tens of thousands of planets. I want to achieve the ultimate in life."

The star map in the air suddenly lit up with specks of fluorescent light, which quickly spread, devouring the entire planet at an extremely fast speed.

A magnificent starry sky instantly turned into the same color.

"The reproduction and life of all planets will be replaced by me. Then I will no longer be a planet, but the entire universe!"

Ego closed his eyes, opened his arms, and immersed himself in it.
