American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#440 - Golden Bell Bar

So-called Gotham City, with its simple and honest folk, is a place where talent emerges from Arkham.

In this era where Arkham's influence is undeniable, the enthusiasm of Gotham's people remains as strong as ever.

The quietness of secluded alleys is merely an anomaly; once you step onto the bustling streets, you'll encounter three waves of enthusiastic individuals offering donations before you've even walked five hundred meters.

While happily receiving a sum of one thousand and some odd US dollars, I also obtained an interesting address.

The Golden Bell Bar.

The bell on the door chimed crisply a few times as the door was slowly pushed open.

Qi Shan, under the gaze of everyone, slowly walked inside.

The bar wasn't very large, about 100 square meters. In the center was a circular bar, with three bartenders busily working, each responsible for a 120-degree section of the counter.

Scattered around the bar were seven or eight solid wood round tables. Beautiful bunny girls weaved through the crowd of menacing-looking burly men, occasionally handing out drinks and snacks, and exchanging playful banter with familiar faces.

Qi Shan's appearance caused the interior of the bar to fall silent for a second. Everyone's gazes, filled with murderous intent and scrutiny, converged on Qi Shan, before suddenly dissipating and the noisy, bustling atmosphere returned.

A glint of understanding flashed in the bartender's eyes.

Looks like another ignorant newbie who doesn't know the immensity of heaven and earth.

A burly white man sitting next to him suddenly slammed his beer glass on the ground and roared, "When you're told to get lost, you get lost! Why so much nonsense? I'll give you three seconds to get out of my sight, or I'll turn your pretty boy face into a peanut pancake!"

Qi Shan asked strangely, "Why choose the number three? Don't most people usually say 'get lost immediately' or something like that?"

The white man's face immediately turned purplish-red.

The surroundings were silent for a moment, followed by a burst of loud laughter.

A skinny, small man was laughing so hard he was about to convulse, jumping on the table and rolling around, kicking the cups, bowls, and dishes all over the place, shattering them on the ground.

"Hahahaha… Did you hear what Big Bear just said? Three seconds! Good heavens, he's showing off his glorious achievements again!"

"Hahahaha…"

Everyone was laughing so hard they were shedding tears.

Qi Shan's mind raced, and his eyes showed a hint of sympathy.

The three bartenders retreated a step with great understanding, standing back-to-back in the very center, pressing a mechanism to move a cylindrical glass, rising from the bottom up, just the three of them protecting the inside.

Those sexy bunny girls also disappeared quickly.

The big man was furious, his eyes bloodshot, his entire face already flushed purple.

He reached down and directly took out a huge revolver, pulling the trigger without hesitation.

Bang!

With the sound of a gunshot, the man sitting on the other side of Qi Shan spewed blood and flew out, instantly smashing a table.

The few people who were laughing wildly were enraged by the collateral damage, and like a magic trick, they pulled out long guns and short cannons, opening fire directly.

"Damn it, you actually dared to attack us, go to hell!"

The people in the bar were not good people, and the gun battle instantly swept across a large area. A group of people fought in chaos for a while, bullets flying everywhere, the ceiling, walls, and floor riddled with bullet holes.

Almost every few seconds, a unlucky guy flew out horizontally, with clusters of blood flowers blooming on his body.

After more than a minute of gunfire, more than a dozen unfortunate corpses lay on the ground.

Mr. Big Bear was one of them.

"Sir, if possible, please come down first. That is a restricted area for customers."

The three bartenders, holding shotguns, pointed at Qi Shan, who was sitting cross-legged in the air, floating.

The three men's faces were stern, seemingly accustomed to Qi Shan's levitation ability.

Qi Shan gestured with his beer.

"Sorry, it's really too chaotic outside. Aren't you going to do anything about it?"

"The Golden Bell Bar is an absolutely neutral zone. We will not interfere with any customer's affairs, and will only send the bill equally to each survivor. This includes you, sir, who caused the whole thing!" The bartender explained blandly, then took out a small notebook and said.

"Although there are some discrepancies, you did indeed create a murder case with your own hands. You are eligible for membership. What name would you like to use?"

"Piccolo!"

"Alright, Piccolo!"

The bartender quickly wrote down a few words, turned around, and put them into the fax machine.

A few minutes later, the bartender threw over a bank card and said: "This is your membership card. The card number is directly linked to the underground bank and can be used as a normal bank card, with zero renewal fees, fast transfers, and a certain amount of overdraft privileges. The disadvantage is that there is no password and it cannot be reported as lost. In other words, as long as your membership card is lost, the money is gone!"

"Alright!" Qi Shan remained noncommittal.

He looked at the black card. The front had a golden bell pattern, and the back was a matte black color, with a few lines outlining the figure of a young woman, which was quite eye-catching.

"Since it's a membership card, everyone should have one, right? Then…"

With a wave of Qi Shan's hand, a faint green light emerged from each corpse on the ground, like birds returning to their nests, drilling into Qi Shan's palm.

"…I think this money is mine, right?"

The bartender showed a smile for the first time and said, "That's right!"

"As expected, this is a good place with simple and honest folk!" Qi Shan said with emotion, throwing all the cards over and saying, "Then transfer all the money to me!"

"No problem, but for multiple card transfers, a mandatory 50% handling fee will be charged after the second card!" The bartender smiled amiably.

Qi Shan raised an eyebrow: "You guys are ruthless!"

At this time, the people below also reacted. After a series of bolt-pulling sounds, almost everyone aimed their guns at Qi Shan.

"Damn it, what did you do, you bastard?"

"Hand over the cards!"

"Kill this pretty boy!"

The bar was filled with shouts and cries again.

Qi Shan expressionlessly stretched out a finger, and with just a light stroke, all the guns were directly wrapped in green light, flying in the air and turning their muzzles to point at their original owners.

The group instantly shut up, raising their hands high.

"Very good, obedience is a good boy!"

Qi Shan: "Don't worry, I won't rob you of your money. Besides, you bastards are all more cunning than ghosts, and you wouldn't put too much money on yourselves anyway. How much money is in my card now?"

The bartender's expression was strange: "Thirteen thousand US dollars!"

"See!" Qi Shan spread his hands. "But it doesn't matter, I'm not here to steal your business, but to recruit subordinates. I have a big plan to get rich, is anyone interested in joining?"

As soon as the words 'get rich' came out, everyone's eyes lit up.
