American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#451 - Stealing corpses

Going to see Lex was just a whim of Qi Shan's. He was quite curious about this man who possessed top-tier intelligence and always stood in opposition to Superman.

Lex Luthor was born into wealth and possessed unparalleled intelligence. He had the means, the money, the background, and in some parallel universes, he easily became the President of the United States.

It could be said that in the fantasies of ordinary people, someone like Lex was the pinnacle of humanity.

He almost fulfilled everyone's fantasies.

However, from a brief interaction, Lex currently seemed somewhat immature and not the middle-aged bald-headed villain that Qi Shan had in mind.

But this didn't affect Qi Shan's mood. The Shadow Mage's abilities were very convenient, and it only took him a few minutes to browse through the secret archives of the entire LexCorp.

Thanks to Lex's distrust of computer programs, or rather, his precautions against Superman using artificial intelligence to steal information, all his confidential files were made into paper versions and locked behind a multi-ton alloy door.

Qi Shan had no interest in LexCorp's financial statements, the laboratory's various confidential research plans, or the various shady files.

He simply found the most recently numbered plan files, quickly flipped through them, and quickly located General Zod and the area where all the Kryptonian spaceship wreckage was sealed.

Area 52!

In this world, Area 52 truly existed. It was located deep within the Rocky Mountains, surrounded by an air force base, a Marine Corps base, and an Army air combat team base.

It was guarded by the 14th Division of the National Guard, and everything was marked with the highest level of secrecy. Without special congressional clearance, even the President could not approach.

Qi Shan quickly found the coordinates, used the Shadow Mage's ability to search the entire research base, and found a special morgue about 100 meters underground.

General Zod and his adjutant, Faora-Ul, were laid out here.

That's right, there were some slight deviations in this world.

In the Man of Steel storyline, not only did General Zod die at the hands of Superman, but even his adjutant, Faora-Ul, inexplicably died from Kryptonite.

It was precisely because the ship carrying Kryptonite crashed in the Pacific Ocean that Lex Luthor was able to find traces of Kryptonite in the vast ocean based on clues.

Kryptonite is a radioactive mineral with a wavelength that targets the genes of Kryptonians, producing a specialized 'killware' effect.

Moreover, it has a certain degree of spreadability. When it comes into contact with ordinary soil under high pressure, it can grow more as long as a period of time passes.

It's just that the speed of this spread, even if it's thousands or tens of thousands of times faster than mineral formation, is still too slow to be seen with the naked eye.

It only grows Kryptonian ore the size of a washbasin every year or two.

But it was enough to target Superman.

Qi Shan hesitated for a moment, still choosing to leave General Zod behind for Lex to transform into Doomsday, while he possessed the body of Faora-Ul, slowly opening her eyes.

The Kryptonian genes were incredibly powerful. Even after death for a long time, the body showed no signs of decay. Bacteria simply couldn't survive on the steel-like body.

Using shadows to manipulate a corpse for the first time felt very strange.

Qi Shan simply moved his hands and feet and squeezed the round, bulging '团团' with his hand, feeling very strange.

It felt like a metal ball, but with unparalleled elasticity.

It seemed that even after death, Kryptonians' genes were still instinctively absorbing energy to maintain their steel-like bodies.

No wonder the government-recruited group of scientists exhausted their few remaining hairs but couldn't do anything about the two corpses.

Pulling the white sheet covering the corpse over, he simply covered himself up, bent his legs slightly, and suddenly burst out with force.

Like a rocket, Faora-Ul unreasonably penetrated several layers of thick concrete, smashed through an alloy plate, created a sonic boom, and quickly disappeared into the air.

Only after a few seconds did the alarm sound belatedly, inciting chaos and a large number of soldiers urgently assembled, quickly appearing in defensive positions.

Lex Luthor was the first to receive the news that an accident had occurred at the base and Faora-Ul's body had mysteriously disappeared.

He suddenly thought of the shadow that appeared that night.

Could it be him?

The thought of advancing the plan flashed through his mind and was quickly suppressed.

Now was not the time; Superman needed to proceed according to the plan.

Three days later, under the hype of major news media, the accidental event that occurred in Africa infinitely magnified Superman's power, pushing his alien identity to the forefront.

Many human rights groups gathered outside the Capitol, shouting slogans loudly.

It seemed that Superman, who was loved by everyone a few months ago, had become a heinous villain.

Lex's plan was proceeding smoothly. Under the pressure of public opinion, Superman showed up as expected, slowly stepping into the Capitol.

Watching his steady back, the news industry fell into unprecedented frenzy.

A large number of reporters poured in frantically, wanting to seize this news with extremely high explosive potential.

However, just as the audience took out their snacks, sat obediently on the sofa, and prepared to see how Superman would deal with this situation,

A huge explosion suddenly occurred inside the Capitol.

With a dull thud, a large amount of glass shattered, smoke and dust exploded, and faint flames could be seen inside.

Screams, cries for help, panicked crowds, fleeing figures.

On the square, people who wanted to retreat to avoid the situation and people who were frantically crowding to watch the excitement were mixed together, causing a great commotion.

The police who were originally dispatched to maintain order directly transformed into firefighters, maintaining order while helping to evacuate the crowd.

Small media outlets that were not qualified to participate in the hearing became excited. Before the ambulances had time to arrive, the media cars had already rushed over.

They set up long and short cannons, desperately photographing the Capitol Building billowing with smoke.

Several hosts didn't even have time to put on makeup, simply gathered their hair, and began to spout nonsense in a serious manner.

This sudden explosion directly detonated public opinion.

The previous negative reports targeting Superman were now even more rampant.

The praise and eulogies of a few months ago seemed to be things of the last century.

This Capitol bombing also changed the thinking of two people.

Superman began to doubt his father's dream for the first time. Was it right or wrong to help humans selflessly?

Faced with the overwhelming public opinion, should he continue?

Superman was confused!
