American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#458 - The fisherman gets the advantage

Doomsday roared like a beast, its body surging with electricity, a red glow emanating from its heart, and a massive amount of energy pouring out.

Its body shook, and red lightning exploded directly, covering the entire dock area at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The intense energy impacted the entire block, destroying all the buildings.

The poses the three had just struck were immediately disrupted.

Wonder Woman raised her round shield, protecting herself and Batman.

Leona remained expressionless, merely shifting her body slightly to withstand the energy impact.

Doomsday strode forward heavily. Wonder Woman and Fiona exchanged a glance and charged together.

As it turns out, the Amazonian warrior was indeed powerful, a true shield-and-sword fighter, a main tank.

Despite the massive size difference, she could still fight and withstand attacks, holding her own in a head-on confrontation.

Fiona was responsible for kiting, mainly taking the assassin route, occasionally striking a cold blow, causing Doomsday to stagger and retreat.

Batman was elusive, always appearing on Doomsday's flank, holding a shotgun ready to pull the trigger at any moment.

Only two kryptonite rounds remained, and he had to find the right opportunity.

The kryptonite spear had been taken away by Qi Shan earlier. Superman was dead, and Lois, disheartened, had long since left with Superman's body.

The plot had been completely changed by Qi Shan.

The kryptonite spear's role here was no different from Loki's scepter during the Chitauri invasion, both being key props to end the whole thing.

The three present, including Batman, were all powerful warriors.

Even though Doomsday's combat power was astonishing, they could still fight it to a standstill in the short term.

However, for Doomsday, who could absorb energy and strengthen himself infinitely, a stalemate would only delay his victory and could not cause him any harm.

Wonder Woman charged forward and was sent flying by a punch from Doomsday. Immediately afterward, Fiona's searing ray attack was countered by a shockwave blasted from its mouth.

Wonder Woman seized the opportunity and unleashed her Lasso of Truth, using all her strength to pin Doomsday in place.

Batman didn't hesitate to pull the trigger, and two kryptonite bullets simultaneously hit the opponent. The exploding kryptonite dust enveloped his entire body, and the energy fluctuations in Doomsday's body were visibly weakened.

Fiona swooped down, picked up the God-Eater sword from the ground, and used the momentum to stab the opponent right through the heart.

Batman roared, "The sea! The sea!"

Fiona understood, suddenly letting go. Doomsday flew away like a shooting star, instantly disappearing from sight.

She accelerated and hurriedly chased after it.

The scene was left with the exhausted Wonder Woman and the equally drained Batman.

Neither of them could fly and couldn't catch up.

Just then, the communicator inside Batman's helmet rang, and Alfred's voice came.

"Sir, the information has been found! During the Metropolis War, two Kryptonians died, General Zod and Lieutenant Fiona!"

"What?" Batman was taken aback.

"Although it's hard to believe, it's true! ARGUS sent internal investigation files. Old friends from the Court of Owls want to talk to you!"

Then the voice switched, becoming a somewhat assertive female voice.

"Bruce!"

"Amanda!" Batman's eyes turned cold.

"Time is of the essence, so I'll keep it short! Lieutenant Fiona, who fought with you before, is not to be trusted!"

"How do you know?"

"Because in the direction Doomsday disappeared is the base of the aliens who previously claimed to rule the world.

Our satellites monitored Doomsday and the Lasso of Truth being sent to Piccolo. Fiona is controlled by aliens."

"What?" Batman was so shocked that he jumped up.

Wonder Woman turned her head: "What's wrong?"

"We're in big trouble!"

On the sea to the southwest, several demons used the Lasso of Truth to tie Doomsday and the kryptonite spear together.

Its state was forcibly weakened. Although Doomsday was still struggling desperately, it could do nothing but roar.

Qi Shan fiddled with the God-Slaying Sword.

But after trying its sharpness, his finger was cut.

The God-Slayer was indeed worthy of being an Amazonian artifact, truly a good weapon.

He threw the God-Slayer to his subordinates, and with a stretch of his palm, a human-shaped shadow sat obediently on it.

Without saying a word, Qi Shan directly stuffed the shadow into Doomsday's body.

The Shadow-Shadow Fruit's ability was peculiar. The characteristics of the shadow cut by the Shadow Magician were basically the same as the soul attribute.

Both were to give consciousness to the body.

For living people, the shadow's influence was too weak, and it couldn't even be felt.

In the plot, Luffy once swallowed 100 shadows in one go. Although his body became particularly exaggerated, he could still maintain his own consciousness.

After a conflict with the soul, the shadow could only be maintained in the body for about 5 minutes before it would automatically detach.

However, in Qi Shan's experiment, vegetative people and idiots with prefrontal lobotomies could also be used as carriers.

Doomsday was just a biological weapon. It had no subjective consciousness and destroyed all life based on biological instincts.

In addition, the Kryptonians' innate weakness of zero magic resistance made Qi Shan think it was likely to succeed.

Even if he couldn't completely control Doomsday, as long as he could influence it to a certain extent, it could bring great help to Qi Shan.

This battle, which destroyed a third of Gotham's buildings, ended without warning.

The media message was blocked, and the audience only knew that the enemy was defeated by the superheroes working together, but they did not know the specific process.

More troops entered the city, blocking all key roads.

A large number of armed helicopters patrolled the canal and the southwest sea, trying to find some clues.

An Apache helicopter landed on the ruins, and Amanda got out and walked quickly to Batman.

"Bruce, we need to talk!"

Batman said, "Did you find Doomsday?"

Amanda shook her head: "Don't worry, ARGUS also has some kryptonite reserves. As long as we seize the opportunity, eliminating Doomsday is not a problem! I want to talk to you about metahumans!"

She handed over a folder.

Batman and Wonder Woman exchanged glances and took it.

The familiar pictures on it were the ones he had stolen from LexCorp's database before.

"Aliens have arrived, we need more heroes!" Amanda's eyes were firm.
