American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#467 - Conversation with Cyborg
Victor Stone, codenamed Cyborg, a mechanically enhanced individual, serves as the Justice League's resident mechanical expert. His coolness factor is a bit lower than Iron Man's, but his combat abilities are decent enough.
Although relatively young, his integration with machinery allows him to maintain a forced calmness during battle, making him seem quite reliable.
The head scientist of the Red Room Laboratory is his father, which is why Qi Shan and the others are here, aiming to draw him out.
“I should have blown your head off with a cannon!” Cyborg expressed his hatred for Qi Shan with an icy tone.
Qi Shan chuckled, “Don't make such grand pronouncements, kid. You're well aware of the power these weapons possess. If they could truly achieve the effect you claim, you would have already fired!”
Cyborg stubbornly channeled energy, the weapons on his arm emitting a subtle hum.
Qi Shan remained unfazed, “With your capabilities, you should be aware of the recent emergence of an alien species. They've already kidnapped eight researchers from STAR Labs, interrogating them about the location of the Mother Box.
If I hadn't acted first, your father would have been among them. From that perspective, you should be thanking me!”
As he spoke, Qi Shan snapped his fingers, and a demon pushed Cyborg's father into the room.
He stumbled, his body barely regaining balance before Cyborg flashed to his side, supporting him.
His father was emotional, saying, “Victor, you've finally come!”
“Are you hurt?”
His father shook his head, looking at the Mother Box with agitation, shouting, “Quick! Retrieve the Mother Box; this thing must not fall into alien hands!”
Cyborg looked up, noticing a hint of mockery on Qi Shan's face, as if anticipating his move.
He keenly sensed the energy levels of the surrounding demons rising sharply.
If he made any move to approach the Mother Box, a barrage of attacks would rain down on him. He could withstand it, his semi-mechanical body boasting impressive defenses, but what about his father?
He would be instantly reduced to minced meat!
Therefore, disregarding his father's urging, Cyborg raised his head and asked, “What do you want me to do?”
“A wise choice!”
Qi Shan smiled, raising his hand. A demon tossed the Lasso of Truth and the Godkiller sword onto the ground.
“Take these items to Diana and inform Batman's Justice League that Steppenwolf has arrived, and war will begin at any moment!
I hope they can slightly restrain their desires and not interfere carelessly during my battle.”
Cyborg was surprised, “Just like that? Why would you do this? Aren't you an alien? Planning to enact an evil reign over Earth? Why would you have contact with Batman and the others?”
“Heh! It seems their hidden identities are no secret to you!” Qi Shan smiled, “You'll have to find the answers to that question yourself!”
“Alright!” Cyborg picked up Wonder Woman's equipment, wrapped an arm around his father, and burst through the window, disappearing into the horizon with a burst of speed.
Qi Shan watched his departing figure, saying softly, “Cyborg has been delivered to you; figure out how to revive Superman yourselves!”
Traversing the DC universe has one downside: these superheroes are all the beloved sons of high-dimensional beings. When faced with difficulties, they inexplicably receive plot armor.
If you were to actually kill them, the parallel worlds might go berserk, flooding in with a massive influx of superheroes, enough to overwhelm you.
So, the main characters can't be touched. As for Superman, his death is likely a plot device; he'll definitely be resurrected later with some contrived reason.
That being said, ordinary people are the most miserable in the superhero world. No matter how much they're exploited, the high-dimensional beings don't care.
So, evil rule isn't wrong.
However, that reasoning can't be explained to the righteous superheroes.
[Remaining Time: Nineteen Hours]
[Destruction Level: Thirty-Five Percent]
Metropolis, above the Empire State Building, a swarm of Parademons circled, densely packed, almost obscuring the entire sky.
Steppenwolf slowly inserted the second Mother Box, retrieved from the ocean floor, into the stone wall.
A relaxed smile played on his lips as he whispered, “I understand, Mother! I understand why you waited until now to summon me!
The death of Kryptonians and the chaotic rule of alien races have plunged this timid world into a vortex of fear.
They are giants in words, but dwarfs in action. Once true chaos arrives, they will cower in corners like quails.
The Amazons and Atlanteans are divided, they have abandoned the power of unity and are no longer our match!
I know you have waited too long for this moment. I know you will devour their fear.”
He abruptly turned, seizing a Parademon by the neck, and coldly instructed, “Find the last one as quickly as possible! I have little patience left!”
The Parademon army dispersed like locusts. Steppenwolf raised his head, “My exile is over; I formally join the ranks of the New Gods! For the power of unity, for Darkseid!”
Boom!
As his words fell, a ki blast descended from the sky, the powerful shockwave instantly reducing matter to a molecular state. The Empire State Building instantly vanished, leaving a bottomless square crater in the ground.
The Parademon army within the blast radius was instantly reduced to dust, dissipating into nothingness.
The demon army loosely surrounded the area. Qi Shan floated in the air, saying, “I thought you would choose a dark and damp place to nest; I had people searching the sewers for nothing. I didn't expect you to choose the Empire State Building this time.”
The Dark Universe or the Anti-Matter Universe? It doesn't matter. Since you dare to oppose Darkseid, you will pay with your lives!”
Roar!
He roared madly, raising his axe and leaping to cleave Qi Shan's head.
Clang!
The crisp metallic clang made Steppenwolf's eyes widen.
The green monster opposite him had blocked his axe with just one finger. How was this possible?!
Qi Shan said disappointedly, “So-called Steppenwolf, is this all you amount to?”
In reality, the Parademon army was the real threat.
They were endless in number, fearless, and insect-like bio-weapons.
As for Steppenwolf, his primary role was still as a commander.
Battle and conquest were just personal hobbies.
In the plot, Superman almost made him shit his pants after being resurrected, filling him with fear and leading to his pathetic retreat amidst a Parademon swarm.
Piccolo's fighting strength might be somewhat inferior to Superman, but in a head-on fight, he could definitely last thirty or fifty moves.
So, Piccolo's fighting strength firmly occupies the second position!
While Qi Shan was pondering, Steppenwolf had already fallen. Having tested his strength, Qi Shan lost interest in personally finishing him off, waved his hand, and the demon army swarmed down.
