American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#478 - The end of the world?

This was definitely not human, absolutely not!

Charles subconsciously tried to read the monster's mind, but the inside of its head was a blank slate. It was more accurate to say that they didn't even have a brain structure. He couldn't find consciousness, couldn't find thoughts, couldn't find anything useful.

"Hank!" Raven cried out in alarm, rushing over.

Hank wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and slowly got up.

His glasses were gone, and there was a large red swelling on his cheek. He had taken the blow directly to the face.

"I'm okay!" Hank stared intently at the monster, saying, "You hide first. This guy is not easy to deal with!"

"Who are you? Why are you attacking us?"

The young companions lined up, each with an angry expression.

Erik lightly raised his right hand, and the barbell used for strength training not far away flew directly over.

The monster opposite him paid no attention. He turned his head to look at Hank, who was getting up, and gurgled, seemingly dissatisfied that his prey hadn't been killed.

Then, with a leap, he pounced again, swinging the hammer down at his head.

Hank quickly picked up Mystique, rolling away to narrowly avoid the blow.

The hammer smashed into the ground with a muffled thud. Sand and soil exploded in all directions, and a hole the size of a human head appeared in the ground.

Charles suddenly shouted, "Erik, get out of the way!"

Erik instinctively ducked, feeling a gust of wind graze his scalp. Another monster appeared before his eyes.

That wasn't the end of it. With the sparse footsteps around them, the group discovered in horror that they were surrounded by these monsters. They were densely packed, and it was impossible to tell how many there were.

They all looked the same. Some held huge clubs in their hands, some simply had empty hands, and some were even flying in the air, surrounding them from above.

This dense, locust-like scene made everyone's scalp tingle.

Erik's expression was serious, and he stretched out both hands. He exerted so much force that the veins on his forehead bulged.

He attracted all the metal he could control in the manor, like small meteorites captured by Earth's orbit, causing them to rotate around him, forming a dense metal defensive layer.

Watching pots, pans, shovels, and even statues spinning back and forth in front of them, the group would have burst out laughing under normal circumstances. But now, they stared nervously at the surrounding monsters, not knowing what to do.

The black youth suddenly said, "Cockroaches, they're cockroaches!"

"That's impossible. How could cockroaches turn into humans!" Banshee immediately retorted, "I think they're aliens. They're invading Earth!"

Hank reacted quickly, gathering with Raven and the others before the Martian cockroach swarm could rush out.

He held a steel fiber in his hand, nervously standing in front of Raven, constantly vigilant against the monsters' sneak attacks.

"It's just some crazy scientist's experiment. Didn't Hank easily create a serum? He just hasn't injected it yet!" Erik said.

"No, this is different!" Hank hurriedly said.

Charles shook his head, "No matter what, if this thing really becomes widespread and appears all over the world, then it really will be doomsday! The situation is urgent. We must first break through the encirclement, investigate what happened, and then make plans!"

"Everyone be careful, they're going to attack!" the black youth warned.

Sure enough, the Martian cockroaches, as if receiving a signal to attack, suddenly erupted and pounced from all directions.

Erik sped up the rotation of the metal. In an instant, it burst outward. The centrifugal force, combined with the weight of the metal, sent a large number of Martian cockroaches flying.

He didn't hold back this time, but such a heavy attack only sent the Martian cockroaches flying without killing any of them.

But there was no time to think carefully. Opening up the defense, the young companions each showed their skills.

Banshee howled sharply, and the sound waves transmitted outward, forming visible waves that directly knocked several Martian cockroaches in front of him away.

Havok was more fierce. His expression hardened, and strands of plasma energy emerged from his shoulders, gathering at his chest and blasting out like a laser cannon.

He swept horizontally, and the Martian cockroaches in the front row immediately burst into flames and burned.

The young companions were excited and cheered when they saw it was effective.

Erik controlled the metal to form a shield at the rear, and Charles used his mental energy to constantly interfere with the opponent's vision, shouting, "Everyone stay close! Don't fall behind! Havok, full power, break through to the west!"

Seeing that only his attack was effective, Havok's confidence also increased. He quickly agreed and activated even more energy, using the ion cannon to forcefully break open the encirclement, burning all the cockroaches that dared to approach into firemen.

The oxygen content on Mars is extremely low. Even if the cockroaches have evolved into special groups and their own civilization due to genetic technology, they still retain the genes that fear fire.

The Martian cockroaches have thick shells that can withstand heavy attacks, and they also have strong resistance to flames. Even if their whole bodies are on fire, they won't die for a while.

They were just frightened by the sudden fire, and the slight flaw inadvertently revealed was quickly seized by Charles, leading the team to quickly break through.

Unfortunately, they hadn't run far before the cockroach army chased after them again.

The black youth tried hard to see into the distance, and his pupils quickly changed into the vision of an eagle. He said with some horror, "It's not good! Fire can't cause effective damage to them. These cockroaches just rolled on the ground a few times and extinguished the flames. God, they're going to attack!"

Everyone's hearts were in their throats as they ran desperately.

Erik constantly controlled the steel to attack the cockroaches, hoping to delay their pursuit.

However, even if they twisted the steel into javelins and directly nailed the cockroaches to the ground, they would get up as if nothing had happened, with a large hole in their chest oozing green blood, and chase after them again.

The gate was close at hand, but the cockroaches surged up again like a tide. Charles hated for the first time that his yard was too big.
