American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#500 - villa
A few minutes later, a brown, vintage-style Beetle slowly pulled over to the side of the road. The driver laboriously rolled down the window, revealing a delicate face.
"Mr. Mike Qi?"
Qi Shan was a little surprised. "Chris White?"
"Just call me Chris, get in the car!"
Chris was a woman with a somewhat飒爽 (sàshuǎng - bold and heroic) feel. She drove with great vigor, but unfortunately, her car wasn't up to the task. Even with the accelerator pedal floored, the Beetle couldn't pick up speed.
Her actions made it seem like she was in "The Fast and the Furious," but in reality, she was barely keeping up with the traffic.
"Mike, the house is in the eastern suburbs, the environment is very good. It's quiet but not isolated. There are other residents within a few hundred meters on either side."
Qi Shan said, "Sounds good!"
While they were talking, Qi Shan kept glancing at the woman.
In his impression, Chris seemed to be a man's name.
However, just like Chinese women sometimes have names like 'Da Lei' (Big Rock), foreigners are even more casual with their names.
Chris was a very pretty woman, with a well-proportioned frame and a slender figure.
Although she was white, her skin wasn't that pale.
You could see traces of wind and sun on her face.
It seemed like she spent quite a bit of time outdoors.
She was dressed in a casual mix-and-match outfit. Her upper body was covered in a long-sleeved chiffon top, giving her a somewhat ethereal feel, while her jeans brought her back to reality.
A head of brown, wavy hair cascaded down her back. She seemed to have deliberately picked out a small strand and tied it into a ponytail, making her look charming with a hint of playfulness.
If her eye sockets weren't so deep and her features didn't quite match Qi Shan's aesthetic preferences, he might have developed a tragic and beautiful love story with her.
The two chatted casually in the car, simply getting to know each other without delving into deep conversation.
Many people think that Americans are chatterboxes, and that men and women alike will launch into a barrage of words as soon as they meet.
This is due to the wide open spaces and sparse population, a chatterbox gene ingrained in their bones.
That's why bar culture is so prevalent in Europe and America, along with all sorts of strange clubs.
But in reality, people are the same everywhere. There are plenty of people who don't like to talk or socialize.
Chris was clearly a normal person. After confirming Qi Shan's identity, she didn't say anything more.
The little Beetle followed the avenue out of the city. When they passed 17th Street, they even saw the police escorting criminals with sirens blaring.
Qi Shan could even see the rebellious expressions on the faces of a few of the hardened criminals.
Although it was called the eastern suburbs, it wasn't that remote.
Not far after passing through the Upper East Side, they arrived at their destination.
It was still a European-style detached house, but unlike those in the city, the architectural style here was more like a Long Island villa, and the environment was indeed quite good.
This residential area was built on a man-made hillside, with not only a small cliff but also a small beach.
Watching Chris show her credentials, the Beetle slowly drove into the residential area's road. Qi Shan said, "This looks like an estate!"
"Good eye! It is indeed an estate, and it was built twenty years ago by a wealthy Mexican drug dealer. I remember when the police cracked that laundry detergent case, even the president was shocked by the amount of laundry detergent seized."
Chris clicked her tongue, not knowing whether it was out of envy or jealousy.
"I don't know how long the illegal property was frozen, but I heard that later, a big shot spent money to lobby a judge to put it up for auction. He originally planned to build his own estate here.
But something unexpected happened. Instead of building his estate, the real estate developers turned it into the most high-end villa district.
After all, this place is too far from the city center. Given the driving time, people might as well go to Long Island for vacation. After all, that's a tourist mecca, and it's more fun with more people.
With Long Island's brilliance, this place seems a bit like a poor imitation.
The really rich tycoons don't like it, and those who do can't afford it. So, it's become empty over time."
Chris glanced at Qi Shan and smiled, "It's strange, New York is so crowded, the supermarkets are about to burst, but there are so few people here."
"Perhaps it's because the Upper East Side is blocking the way?" Qi Shan said casually.
"That's what our boss says too!" Chris smiled, "He says that unless it's turned into a high-end nursing home, it can only wait for wealthy and quiet buyers like artists to sell."
Seeing Chris's inquiring gaze, Qi Shan quickly waved his hand, "I'm not an artist!"
"Whatever!"
The car stopped in the small garden in front of a four-story villa. Chris got out of the car and smiled, "No matter what you do, even if you're selling laundry detergent, it's none of my business, as long as you buy this house from me!"
Qi Shan shrugged and followed her inside.
"Four floors above ground, one floor below ground, a total of five floors, about twelve thousand square feet. The first floor is the living room and kitchen, as well as four servants' rooms.
The second floor has four independent large bedrooms, a study, a gym, and a small living room.
The third floor has an indoor garden, two large suites, each with its own independent kitchen and dining area, but they are very small, suitable for older children.
Then there's a large balcony and a huge walk-in closet of about sixty square meters.
The basement is divided into two areas: the garage and the tool room. If you're just parking, it's no problem to park seven or eight cars side by side."
Chris walked around with Qi Shan, giving a simple introduction as she went, "This house is decorated a bit too ornately, more suitable for successful businessmen than artists. But the characteristics here are not very friendly to businessmen, while artists need such a quiet place.
But even so, only this one of the seven villas in the community is left."
Chris reached out and they sat on the balcony on the second floor.
Qi Shan looked around and nodded, "The area isn't small, the furniture is relatively complete, but there seem to be fewer functional rooms."
Chris shrugged, "After all, it's a product of twenty years ago. If you need a solarium or a practice room, the buyer will have to modify it themselves! Oh, right! There's also a relatively powerful advantage!"
She pointed to the large open space behind the house.
"Although it has been sold separately, it is still private land on the government's side.
That is to say, as long as you buy this house, the front and back gardens are yours. If you are interested, you can even build a better villa on the open space behind!"
Qi Shan's heart stirred and he smiled, "Wow, you're making me tempted!"
Chris's eyes lit up, "Do you like it? The previous asking price was twelve million US dollars. We can help you get a ten-year loan with a very low interest rate!"
Qi Shan smiled, "Make it cheaper!"
Chris smiled even more happily.
