American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#659 - Chakra Restriction
As Rebecca slowly approached, she discovered several train cars with lights still on, sitting on a stretch of abandoned tracks.
A light rain began to fall, pattering against the iron skin of the train cars.
Rebecca, holding her small handgun, pressed herself against the train door and listened carefully for a moment. Hearing no movement inside, she opened the door and cautiously stepped inside.
"Hello, is anyone there?"
The car was warm, and the emergency lights were on, indicating that some of its systems were still functioning.
She found nothing unusual inside, except for two shattered windows on the right side of the car. The wind blew in, stirring the curtains and knocking a cup of coffee off the table.
The floor was covered with a thick carpet, and though the coffee hadn't soaked in, the stain was quite noticeable.
Rebecca cautiously approached and examined it, touching the carpet with her finger. The stain was completely dry, indicating that it had been there for quite some time.
Opening the connecting door to the next car, she found it equally silent.
Suddenly, she thought she saw a figure. She immediately raised her handgun and shouted, "I am Officer Chambers, a member of STARS. Please show me your identification. Is anyone there?"
Rebecca slowly approached, expecting to find a passed-out human, but upon reaching the front, she discovered that the person was already dead.
Rebecca was startled by the gruesome sight of the corpse and couldn't help but cry out.
A small radio on the floor crackled to life, as if suddenly picking up a station, emitting a faint, indistinct sound.
Rebecca crouched down to investigate, when the corpse beside her abruptly stood up and lurched towards her.
Startled, she took two steps back and warned loudly, "Sir, stop moving immediately. Raise your hands. I am a police officer!"
Seeing that he paid no attention, more figures in the car swayed to their feet, gathering towards her with low growls.
Without hesitation, Rebecca opened fire.
Two shots directly pierced the zombie's heart, causing it to stumble, but it seemed unaffected.
The zombie suddenly lunged forward, and Rebecca scrambled back, watching as its foul-smelling mouth was about to bite her.
Suddenly, a bullet pierced the zombie's forehead, splattering blood and causing it to collapse.
Rebecca immediately performed a tactical roll, retreating more than two meters, and glanced back to investigate.
She saw a man in a suit, nonchalantly examining her while holding a gun.
"They're already zombies. Remember to aim for the head!"
"Who are you?" Rebecca asked.
Qi Shan raised his gun and pulled the trigger repeatedly. A series of rapid gunshots echoed, and the zombies in the car were quickly shot in the head, falling one after another and becoming motionless.
After finishing the fight, Qi Shan yawned, twirled his golden revolver twice, and slipped it back into its holster before turning to leave.
"I'm so hungry. I'm going to find something to eat. Little girl, you take care of yourself. Remember not to wander around. There are a lot of strange things inside this train!"
"Wait!"
Rebecca quickly caught up and blocked Qi Shan in the doorway, asking with a burning gaze, "Who are you?"
Qi Shan yawned and handed her his identification.
Rebecca read aloud, "Vampire Countermeasures Bureau, Special Investigator Qi Shan. What kind of nonsense is this? Is this some Halloween costume? It's a pretty good forgery, even has the enforcement system's stamp. Who exactly are you?"
Qi Shan said helplessly, "Can we not dwell on this question? Isn't it enough that you know my name? I've already given you my ID, what else do you want to ask me?"
"This can't be real. Show me your driver's license. I'm a police officer, and I have the right to see your identification!" Rebecca insisted stubbornly.
"I'm really tired right now and don't have the energy to argue with you!"
Qi Shan was nearly unable to keep his eyes open as he said this.
It was strange. One second he stepped through the time-space gate, and the next he arrived. The next second, he found himself in a strange train car, surrounded by zombies.
Even if there were some errors, the traversal process wouldn't take more than three seconds, but the mental exhaustion made Qi Shan wonder if he had been on a train for five days and five nights.
It was like one of those overcrowded green-skinned trains where you can barely sit on a hard seat, with no place to even doze off.
The feeling was terrible.
So, Qi Shan had no interest in exploring the world's environment right now. All he wanted was to find a safe place to get a solid night's sleep.
Of course, it would be even better if he could fill his stomach before going to sleep.
This plane was very strange.
Although the immersion time was short, it could still be considered a well-tempered and strong body.
If he couldn't use chakra, then all the massive resources in his Kamui space would be unusable.
After searching, Qi Shan found that the only powers he could use now were the Shikotsumyaku and Spider Web Sticky Gold, plus a few mission rewards that he could summon at will.
The Cup of Life, Ashu's Hammer, and the antidote from the last mission.
Qi Shan was surprised when he discovered that he could summon the antidote. He had thought it was a one-time-use item.
It had already been swallowed by the time-space gate as a positioning sample, but he didn't expect that it could be summoned at any time, just like the Cup of Life.
This gave Qi Shan another trump card.
Qi Shan was very happy with this successful traversal. Although he couldn't determine where he was yet, seeing these cute zombies, Qi Shan knew that he was in the world of Resident Evil.
This meant that he had finally completely escaped the Marvel parallel universe's vicious cycle.
Seeing Qi Shan turn to enter another car, Rebecca quickly said, "Okay, I'll temporarily believe your identity. It's dangerous here. You can't wander around. Stick with me, and I'll protect you!"
"Come on, little girl, I just want to find a place to get some sleep!"
"Don't call me little girl. I'm a police officer!" Rebecca pouted, somewhat displeased.
"Okay, okay, you're a police officer!"
Qi Shan casually brushed her off, when a light suddenly flashed in his eyes, and he aimed his gun directly at the storage cabinet on the right.
Rebecca was startled. "What are you doing?"
Qi Shan narrowed his eyes and said, "Heartbeat! Buddy, if you're alive, please come out. If you hide there, I won't be able to resist shooting."
