American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#664 - Dr. Marcus
Having experienced so many worlds, Qi Shan considered himself to have some understanding of computers and programming.
Although Alice and Dr. Groo usually handled the trivial matters, he generally didn't need to get involved.
But his enhanced brain would unconsciously learn many things.
It was 1998, and computer technology had not yet entered its period of rapid growth. In terms of hardware, it was still following the path of bulky, clumsy, and outdated designs that would soon disappear.
Although the Umbrella Corporation had advanced technology as its foundation, and was in a leading position in the world in terms of technology, it was still far behind the main Marvel world.
Qi Shan quickly opened the backdoor and obtained administrator privileges, conducting a comprehensive search of the entire training facility.
Sure enough, the map was very large.
The Umbrella Corporation was an expert in digging holes, and most of its research bases were embedded underground.
The same was true here.
On the surface, this was just a quiet little valley, with at most two three-story buildings.
In reality, the underground area was surprisingly large, with various laboratories, rest areas, living areas, and training areas. In addition to the reactor power generation room that provided electricity, there was even an underground railway.
Judging from the route, it directly led to the Western-style house several kilometers away.
After a brief look, Qi Shan switched the screen to the main control interface and, as expected, saw the activated self-destruct device.
Qi Shan was speechless.
Was there anything new?
He canceled the self-destruct program, casually wrote a small program to overlay it, set the password to 256 bits, and directly set it to hidden status.
That would stump them even if they tried to remotely access it.
This place had been abandoned for nearly 10 years. Although there was a dedicated kitchen and dining area upstairs, there was definitely no food inside.
However, Qi Shan was not worried. With the Chakra Ring, he only needed a little sunlight energy to keep his body in peak condition.
If Qi Shan wanted to, he could even be like Uchiha Madara, not eating for years.
This was the dean's office, equipped with a fully equipped lounge. Although the area was not large, it had everything.
Moreover, this location was well preserved and not as dilapidated as other areas. Qi Shan directly broke into the room and spat out a wad of spider silk, sealing the entire door.
A room that had not been inhabited for 10 years was indeed covered in a layer of dust.
Qi Shan couldn't care less about that. He grabbed a cushion, swept it casually, and lay directly on the sofa.
Half a minute later, the sound of even breathing began.
On the other side, Rebecca and Billy were searching everywhere. They didn't let go of any corner, collecting all written documents or reports.
Rebecca looked at the data with a solemn expression: "The Umbrella Corporation started human experiments with viruses 10 years ago. They are no longer satisfied with using animals for various modifications, and have even extended their evil hands to humans!"
Billy said: "Isn't the matter obvious? Do you still need to look at the data?"
"This is evidence!" Rebecca stubbornly replied, sorting the data slightly and carefully stuffing it into her personal bag.
"Be careful, I always feel that something is wrong, as if someone has been staring at us!"
"I found it, there are surveillance cameras everywhere here!"
The two exchanged glances, each vigilant in their hearts.
Taking weapons, they searched the area thoroughly. Unlike the zombies encountered on the train, the ones that emerged here were all huge animals, like bats, centipede shoes, and even a rabbit with purple magic, whose size was comparable to a full-grown black bear.
These animals were very ferocious, as if they had gone mad. As soon as they found humans, they would attack frantically, relentlessly.
The two took turns attacking, constantly consuming bullets, and finally managed to survive without any major incidents.
The good news was that although Rebecca was young, she was a genius in chemistry. In several abandoned laboratories, she even found some usable potions.
Rebecca used these potions to prepare a large amount of magic acid, sealed them in test tubes, and carried a full satchel before setting off again.
Once encountering spiders or huge cockroaches, a test tube of magic acid was thrown over, and the monster would immediately scream and fall to the ground, with half of its head corroded.
Easy to carry, simple to use, and fast-acting, it was much better than firearms.
The two advanced triumphantly all the way, and after entering the underground experimental area, they turned left and right and arrived at the rear factory.
Pushing open the iron door and walking in, the two simultaneously noticed a figure standing steadily on the opposite iron frame.
Rebecca was taken aback, and the muzzle of her gun was raised directly: "Who are you?"
Billy was even more straightforward, staring at the other party without saying a word, ready to shoot as soon as he detected any movement.
"Welcome, young people!"
Faint lights suddenly shone from the left and right sides, illuminating the figure.
Only then did the two see clearly that the other side was a young Caucasian with extremely handsome features.
Rebecca became more vigilant: "Billy, did you hear any sound?"
Billy directly blocked Rebecca behind him: "Be careful, something is coming!"
The dense sound of mucus rolling, slight and dense, as the figure slowly opened his arms, a large number of leeches actually gathered from all directions.
They either stacked together and rolled into balls, or climbed along ropes, and actually surrounded Rebecca and Billy in just a few tens of seconds.
With a thud!
A leech the size of a palm fell on the iron plate, splashing a circle of mucus.
Rebecca only felt a chill running straight to the top of her head from her heel, and her goosebumps were about to fall off.
Even a police officer could not resist the physiological disgust.
Just hearing the sound of leeches crawling made Rebecca's hair stand on end.
"It seems my little darlings are very interested in you!"
The man's voice was soft, and he smiled as he looked at the two: "Welcome you to join this feast. You should have been three people, but it doesn't matter if there are only two of you.
Over the years, I have never encountered such experienced test subjects.
You will be my honored guests, and I will treat you well."
Billy shouted: "Who the hell are you?"
The man chuckled, and his appearance changed directly.
Rebecca cried out softly and said: "It's you? No, how could it be you!"
"Who is he?" Billy asked.
"He is Professor Marcus, the person in charge of this training facility!" Rebecca said.
"Damn it, how is this possible? He died 10 years ago..."
"That's right, I died 10 years ago! But, I have come back to life!" Marcus opened his arms and let out a low laugh.
Rebecca and Billy looked at each other: "What the hell is going on?"
