American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#678 - Escape from Raccoon City
"Let me see!" Alice crouched down, her voice as gentle as possible, afraid of scaring the little girl.
Angela shook her head resolutely.
"Oh, don't worry, we are the same kind, I will definitely not hurt you!"
This nonsensical conversation stunned the people beside them.
"What's going on?" the black man asked inexplicably.
"Don't talk, just watch!" the female reporter whispered, pointing the DV in her hand at the little girl.
"Angela has the antidote and the T-virus in her hands. Alice is deeply infected, so she can sense it," Qi Shan said bluntly, revealing the truth.
Jill looked back at him, then turned her head again, continuing to watch Alice and Angela talk.
Coming from a special agent background, she had received professional training and was hired by the Umbrella Corporation as the deputy director of the security department.
As a professional, subduing a little girl who hadn't grown up yet was a piece of cake.
Relying on the rapidly closing distance due to being both deeply infected, a few words made the little girl obediently nod her head and hand over the small schoolbag she was tightly holding in front of her chest.
Alice took out a square metal box from the small bag.
With just a simple manipulation, she quickly found a way to open it, extending the index fingers of both hands to touch the center of the bottom, and gently pushing upwards.
The metal box immediately opened automatically, revealing two neatly arranged tubes of antidote, an injection gun, and a genuine T-virus.
"Where did you get this?"
Angela obediently said, "My dad, dad made it for me. He has a very serious illness, and one day, I will get this disease too.
To prevent these from happening, Dad specially developed the virus!"
The eyes of several women changed. They slowly approached, squatting around Angela, like little children listening to a story.
"When I was little, I could only walk with crutches. The doctor said my condition would not improve, it would only worsen.
Dad worked day and night on research, and finally found a way to make me stronger. Then the Umbrella Corporation came to take away his invention."
Angela defended her father: "He is not a bad person, he didn't expect this to happen."
At this moment, the phone in the phone booth next to them suddenly rang. Everyone looked over. Alice was about to go over, but Qi Shan directly reached out and answered it.
"I want to talk to my daughter."
Qi Shan smiled and said, "So you really exist."
"Give the phone to my daughter." The voice on the other end began to become agitated.
"I think you should tell me the address first. Where is the last helicopter? And how long before it takes off?"
The female reporter whispered to the black man, "His tone is so strong, isn't he afraid of a falling out?"
"Afraid of what? That old boy's daughter is in our hands. We've got him by the balls. Now we have the initiative, of course we have to educate him. He doesn't know what tone to use when talking to others. If it were me, I would have him sing a chapter of gospel hymns first to calm his agitated emotions."
The black man stuck his chin up high, speaking very arrogantly.
As if he himself was the one in control.
Everyone else, except for Angela who frowned, didn't react much.
When they were lured to rescue people before, the other party's tone wasn't very good either.
Regulating the other party could at least relieve some anger. Even if it was rescuing someone, the threat was very annoying.
The other party didn't remain silent for too long. After just taking two puffs of a cigarette, he quickly made a decision.
"The helicopter will be parked at City Hall. I suggest you speed up. Can I talk to my daughter now?"
Qi Shan shrugged and handed the phone to the little girl next to him, turning around and saying, "Target: City Hall!"
Alice crossed her arms: "I'm sure this helicopter isn't prepared for us."
Jill looked at the magazine, pushed it back in again, making a soft click: "Do you have any psychological barriers to robbing the Umbrella Corporation's stuff?"
"Of course not, I can't wait!"
Angela finished the phone call in a few words and obediently walked to Alice's side.
"My dad said he hopes you can send me over together!"
"Of course!" Alice agreed without hesitation.
The group set off again, with the motorcycle leading the way and the Hummer following, heading straight for City Hall.
If Qi Shan wanted to leave, he could leave at any time. Although this world had many restrictions, with just the superpower alone, he could easily turn the entire Raccoon City into flat ground.
Simple flight was not a problem at all. Participating in the plot was just for the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
This was the most basic etiquette for a fan.
Qi Shan was still very interested in the Resident Evil type of world.
Back then, Alice's valiant look was simply stunning.
Even now, thinking back, he could still faintly feel the excitement at the time.
On the other side, not long after the phone call, the computer was hijacked.
The higher-ups, with several fully armed subordinates, directly imprisoned the doctor.
And it wasn't until this time that the doctor realized that the other party was intentionally using him to lure this team to City Hall.
His face was ashen, his heart uneasy, constantly praying for his daughter.
The higher-ups didn't say much to him.
People outside all thought that this old man invented the T-virus, but people with high authority knew that he was only making some insignificant modifications based on the Progenitor virus.
And the fusion properties and multi-faceted purification uncertainties of the T-virus were all brought about by the Progenitor virus, and had nothing to do with the crippled old man.
Qi Shan's convoy smoothly drove to the side door of City Hall. Everyone filed out, each carrying firearms, cautiously guarding their surroundings while walking towards the parking apron in the center of City Hall.
When they turned the corner, everyone saw a helicopter belonging to the Umbrella Corporation parked on the parking apron.
And strangely, the surroundings were eerily quiet. There wasn't a single soldier to be seen, and even the bodies of the zombies roaming the streets couldn't be found.
Such an abnormal situation made everyone's nerves tense.
Qi Shan's lips curled up, a green light flashed across his right hand, and with a gentle hook of his finger downwards.
Two Umbrella squads hidden in the dark were instantly crushed into minced meat by the suddenly appearing green light.
Under the powerful pressure, they didn't even have time to scream, and even the flesh on their bodies was compressed into a solid.
Like the transformation technique in his memory, people suddenly disappeared, and a small, pitch-black square appeared in their original position.
The group groped all the way to the helicopter, and no one jumped out to stop them.
At this point, not only Alice and Ada Wong, who were professionals, but even the female reporter and the black man felt that something was wrong.
Everyone got on the helicopter. Jill, as a member of S.T.A.R.S., had some understanding of flying. Although not a professional pilot, she could at least fly it away.
She sat in the pilot's seat and quickly checked all the indicators, somewhat surprised and puzzled: "Yes, the fuel is full, and it has just undergone ground maintenance. It's ready for takeoff."
Ada Wong took out her small pistol: "Something's not right!"
On the surface, she was vigilant, but in reality, she was secretly wondering.
The fish is already in the net, so why haven't the Umbrella Corporation people shown up yet? I now have a large number of antidotes and relevant information about the G-virus. Are you all not tempted?
When she came in, she had continuously sent several hidden signals, but the Umbrella Corporation people just didn't show up.
Qi Shan accompanied Alice, standing outside the cabin door, holding a gun and pretending to be on guard.
"Did you find anything?" Alice asked.
"No, but something feels wrong. I suggest we take off immediately!"
Alice cautiously said: "This could be a trap!"
Angela said: "Where's my dad? Why hasn't he shown up?"
Qi Shan suddenly froze.
Damn it, I acted too quickly and killed Angela's crippled dad.
Ada said: "We don't have time anymore. A tactical nuclear weapon could be launched at any moment. The helicopter must take off as soon as possible!"
"But my dad..."
The female reporter hurriedly said: "Your dad will definitely be fine. He's a high-level researcher at the Umbrella Corporation and invented the T-virus. As long as the people at the Umbrella Corporation aren't all idiots, your dad won't be in any danger!"
The black man shouted: "That's right, let's take care of ourselves first!"
Jill exchanged a glance with Alice and said: "Latest report, the tactical nuclear weapon will be launched in just over 20 minutes. We can only stay for another 10 minutes at most!"
Qi Shan put away his gun and walked directly into the airport: "If there are only 10 minutes, it's probably too late. I specifically scanned just now, and there's no one in the entire city hall except us. Even the closest zombies are a kilometer away.
So, instead of 10 minutes, it's better to save it and fly away from this damn place as soon as possible!"
Jill was persuaded, but Alice's puppy-dog eyes from Angela softened her heart, and she asked everyone to wait five more minutes.
For the sake of the little girl, everyone didn't strongly object.
But five minutes passed quickly, and her dad still didn't show up.
Angela was already on the verge of tears, but if they didn't leave now, it would be too late.
The black man was visibly more anxious and was already fidgeting.
Under everyone's silent urging, Jill gritted her teeth and slowly lifted the helicopter.
The cabin door slowly closed, isolating the scene of the city full of zombies outside.
The helicopter drew a perfect arc in the air, heading north.
At this moment, a bright light suddenly flashed in the western sky, followed by a clearly visible white tail flame. Against the backdrop of a white cloud lane, a tactical warhead the size of an ordinary missile arrived.
It plunged into the city center.
Then heaven and earth were enveloped in intense white light, and a huge mushroom cloud slowly rose.
Shock waves, noise radiation, and radiation energy erupted all at once, destroying the entire Raccoon City.
The fuselage shook violently. Jill struggled to control it, finally stabilizing the plane again.
Looking at the world-destroying scene outside through the cabin window, everyone fell silent.
Even the black man, who was usually the most mischievous and spoke without considering the consequences, now had wide eyes and couldn't say a word.
Qi Shan snapped his fingers, and a faint green light enveloped the outside of the helicopter, resisting all damage and radiation.
The helicopter carried everyone away from Raccoon City without them knowing.
The next day, at the Northern Mountain Cadre Training Center.
The helicopter stopped on the rooftop platform. Everyone collapsed in the first-floor lobby, eating food to replenish their strength and watching the news on the monitor.
"How did you know that there would be an abandoned cadre training center of the Umbrella Corporation here?"
Jill took a huge hamburger and stared at Qi Shan, asking.
After leaving the city, everyone didn't know where to settle down.
Although they didn't know why the Umbrella Corporation people didn't show up during the final crucial helicopter battle, they all knew that they were now on the opposite side of the Umbrella Corporation, and the Umbrella Corporation, which always sought revenge for the smallest slight, would definitely not let them go.
Assassins would probably not be uncommon in their future lives.
They could only think of this much. Even after witnessing the horror of the T-virus with their own eyes and understanding the contagiousness of zombies, they still didn't realize how difficult the zombie virus would be to contain and how it would infect the entire world within a few short years.
Reducing the global population of 10 billion by 99%.
I don't know how many humans will be left on Earth in three years.
But at this time, they were obviously more curious as to why Qi Shan would know such serious information.
"Rebecca told me that they came here when they were investigating the bizarre death incidents, and that's when I met Rebecca!"
Qi Shan looked at Jill: "You should have been to the mansion, right!"
Alice was surprised: "You've been to the mansion?"
"That was two months ago! Damn, I really don't want to remember that terrible place!"
Jill glanced at Qi Shan. "You have secrets!"
Qi Shan smiled: "I've already told you my secret, it's just that you don't believe it!"
"Superpowers? Ha!" Jill scoffed.
"Don't disbelieve it, she'll have them too in the future!"
Qi Shan pointed at Alice, but Alice suddenly said seriously: "Wait, there's a report."
Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to it.
The screen showed the earth-shattering scene of the tactical warhead exploding, with the host's slightly shocked voice in the background.
"We have received an unconfirmed accident report regarding Raccoon City. What you are seeing now is the footage from the emergency measures at the time.
Some claim that this is a mysterious plague, or a virus outbreak, and that the Umbrella Corporation caused the deaths of countless innocent citizens."
The screen continued to switch, showing the chaos within the city before the nuclear explosion.
"This accident is shocking. However, when we sought confirmation from the Umbrella Corporation, the higher-ups did not respond at all. How shocking is that?
The Supreme Court has expressed its concern and is sending professional personnel to investigate. We will continue to report on the follow-up situation!"
