American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#691 - Liar Sisters
The group exchanged glances and quickly followed.
The lounge was large, and equally messy.
Pipes lined the upper part, and although there were many desks, they were all piled with clutter. Files and shattered mugs were scattered on the floor. Although there were no corpses, it was clear that a commotion had occurred here.
In the back was the returns area, where a large pile of damaged or expired goods were stacked within wire mesh. A girl, no more than sixteen or seventeen years old, sat on the long dining table in the middle.
Her head was slightly lowered, her expression buried in her sister's shoulder. The two girls hugged each other, silently radiating an aura of sadness.
It felt like a farewell before death.
The college student seemed skilled at survival, constantly observing his surroundings, paying particular attention to the direction of the passages, as if constantly constructing an escape route in his mind.
Qi Shan also looked around, but his focus was on the piles of杂物 (záwù) around him.
I really didn't realize that the supermarket's wastage rate was so high.
Cowboy went forward to inquire and said, turning his head: "They are sisters. The younger one has been bitten, but hasn't changed yet. Don't frighten her!"
After a simple instruction, Cowboy pointed to the college student: "This is Columbus!"
Then he pointed to the two girls, big and small: "Vitas and little Rick! By the way, what's your name?"
The girl who asked for help earlier, Vitas, asked: "You don't know him either?"
"We met him up ahead!"
Qi Shan said: "Just call me Qi Shan!"
The little girl asked innocently: "Your name is so strange!"
Vitas said: "He's an Easterner!"
The college student shook his head subconsciously.
"No, she's still a little girl. I can't kill someone!"
"Hey! I can still hear you!"
The little girl roared, and the college student immediately trembled, quickly explaining: "I don't mean that. Listen, I know you're very sick, but you also know that after being bitten by a zombie, it's…"
"This isn't her decision, understand? It's my decision." The little girl took a deep breath: "I'm forcing him to do this. We've already said goodbye, but we don't have a gun."
Clang!
With a soft sound, Qi Shan had a foot-long dagger in his hand. It was jet black and non-reflective, with serrations on the back of the blade.
The way the parachute cord was wrapped around the handle showed that it was definitely a military item.
Qi Shan said: "Isn't a gun a bit too cruel? Why don't I help her? I can stab it into her temple, and turn her brain into mush within a second. She won't feel any pain!"
The group was stunned for a moment. The two girls looked at the knife and swallowed. Vitas hurriedly said: "No, we still want to use a gun…"
Qi Shan said: "But if a bullet hits her body, the corpse won't be intact. You're a beautiful little girl, you wouldn't want your soul to be tattered after you die, would you?
My technique is very good. Not much blood will come out with one stab. I guarantee you'll die on the spot, and it won't damage your appearance!"
As he spoke, Qi Shan was eager to try.
Cowboy took a step back, his gaze towards Qi Shan changing slightly.
The college student felt that what Qi Shan said made sense: "If you can guarantee it, I think it's a good idea!
The sound of a gun is too loud, it can easily attract nearby zombies.
Also, the power of a shotgun is not small. The bullet can directly shatter your little head. Although this can prevent you from becoming a zombie, it's a bit too ugly of a death!
Why don't we let Qi Shan help!"
A smile appeared on Qi Shan's face, and he stepped forward.
Before seeing the two of them, Qi Shan had quietly activated his Byakugan to see them through and through.
Without a doubt, the two girls were lying.
Not only was the little girl not injured, but she had a small pistol hidden behind her waist.
Although the older sister didn't have any weapons hidden on her body, her position was very clever. Within reach was a pile of cardboard boxes.
And hidden among a pile of杂货 (záhuò) were two loaded pistols.
As long as something unexpected happened, she could take out the pistol in the blink of an eye.
Qi Shan didn't know why these two girls were lying, but it was certain that they had malicious intentions.
Since they were enemies, he should just kill them!
The older sister hurriedly stepped forward to stop him: "Let's use a gun, let me send her on her last journey!"
Qi Shan shook his head seriously: "Killing people won't get you into heaven.
This world is already beyond saving. All I can do is save more souls.
Believe me, this dagger has been soaked in holy water. It can save lost souls. Dying in my hands will allow my sister's soul to enter heaven!"
The older sister stubbornly said: "No, let me do it, she's my sister!"
"Precisely because she's your sister, I want you to reunite in heaven. If you kill her, your soul won't be able to enter heaven! Let me do it!"
Qi Shan turned his head and said: "Cowboy, help me pull this girl away, preferably covering her eyes and ears. Don't worry, I'm very fast, she won't feel any pain."
After speaking, Qi Shan pushed Vitas away.
"No!"
Vitas struggled to pounce again, and Cowboy subconsciously stepped forward to stop her.
The college student was stunned for a moment, and also subconsciously stepped forward to help.
Seeing Qi Shan walk in quickly, a look of panic appeared on the little girl's face, and she flusteredly took out her pistol.
But before she could raise the muzzle, Qi Shan slapped it away, and then raised his dagger and stabbed it down hard.
"Don't!"
The older sister struggled frantically, and the younger sister rolled off the table. Qi Shan stabbed the table right through with the dagger.
"Why resist? It'll be over quickly with one stab!"
Qi Shan looked puzzled and walked towards the younger sister again.
The younger sister's hair stood on end, and she scrambled towards her older sister.
The older sister suddenly pushed Cowboy away, hugged her younger sister tightly, and glared at Qi Shan with a fierce warning.
"Stay away from my sister, you madman!"
As soon as these words came out, Qi Shan's expression instantly returned to calm. He twirled the knife in his hand, and the foot-long dagger disappeared directly into his sleeve.
He bent down and picked up the small pistol, casually pulling the trigger. Sure enough, a bullet was fired.
With a bang, the gunshot startled the college student, and he nervously raised his shotgun, not knowing who he should aim at.
Qi Shan glanced at Cowboy, removed the magazine, and threw it on the table casually. The bullets jumped out and rolled all over the table.
Cowboy reacted and looked at the two sisters hugging each other: "So it was a scam, you wanted to kill us?"
"We didn't want to kill anyone, we just wanted to steal your guns and car! It's a pity that this madman ruined everything!"
The two sisters were seasoned con artists, and although they occasionally failed, they had never encountered a situation like this.
Seeing her younger sister nearly lose her life at the hands of their opponent, the older sister's heart was filled with a burning hatred.
Her eyes remained fixed on Qi Shan, like tiny awls, and if they could have materialized, sparks would have been flying from his body long ago.
The college student said in disbelief, "You're robbers? Why? You clearly have weapons, and there's plenty of food here. Shouldn't humans be helping each other? It's the end of the world!"
The older sister said disdainfully, "Men should all die!"
The cowboy whistled. "Looks like another woman deeply hurt by a man. While I find your reasons understandable, Qi Shan discovered this matter, so he should handle it!"
Qi Shan said expressionlessly, "I propose we kill them. It's good to be wary, but malicious harm to others is unforgivable in this apocalyptic environment!"
The older sister shouted in disbelief, "We just wanted to rob you!"
"In the past, robbery would have been excusable. The world was stable, and whatever you stole wouldn't substantially harm others.
But now, in this zombie-infested apocalypse, firearms and vehicles are our means of self-preservation.
If you steal our weapons and vehicles, you're abandoning us in the zombie-infested wilderness.
How is that different from being marooned on a desert island by pirates? It's an inescapable death!
No matter how you try to justify it, it's still murder!"
At this point, Qi Shan paused, slightly raising his head, his eyes icy. "I don't want to hurt others, but I will never let those with malicious intent towards me go! Even if they are women."
The college student looked at the women embracing each other, wanting to offer some advice but not knowing how to start.
The cowboy shook his head and turned to walk away.
"Whatever. Whether you want to kill them or let them go, please hurry. Once we get the cream cake, we should get back on the road!"
Qi Shan reached behind him, and with a twist of his wrist, two identical black daggers appeared in his hands.
"Don't worry, it'll be quick!"
Just as the college student was feeling somewhat at a loss, the older sister suddenly attacked, knocking the college student to the ground. She deftly rolled across the ground and snatched the shotgun.
Jumping up from the ground, she raised the gun and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Bang!
With a gunshot, a gap suddenly exploded in the stacked goods, and the things piled on top collapsed with a crash, instantly blocking their line of sight.
The older sister moved quickly, grabbed her younger sister, and turned to run.
Suddenly, a dark flash passed by, and the dagger pierced the younger sister's calf.
The younger sister cried out miserably and stumbled to the ground.
The older sister panicked and threw the shotgun aside, embracing her younger sister.
She cursed incessantly in her heart: Damn it, damn it, damn it, how could this happen? It was supposed to be a simple trick. Once we got the gun and the car, we could leave.
It was supposed to be something that wouldn't hurt anyone, so why did we have to run into a freak!
She held her sister, wanting to continue running, but as soon as she turned her head, she froze.
Qi Shan had silently appeared behind her at some point, expressionless, his eyes still icy. The dagger in his right hand was gone, leaving only the dagger in his left hand emitting a dark light.
Qi Shan took a step forward, pretending to stab.
The older sister abruptly twisted her body, putting herself in front, tightly closing her eyes, and pressing her sister's head into her arms.
"Stop!"
The college student suddenly shouted, standing up from a pile of debris.
Qi Shan paused, the tip of the knife against the older sister's back, and turned his head to look at the college student.
"Let them go, they're just two women. I think they only resorted to this because they had no other choice!"
Qi Shan said calmly, "Are you sure they won't just kill us after they get the gun?"
"No, otherwise, that first shot would have hit you! Besides, the gunshot has already been heard, and zombies could surround us at any time. We need to evacuate as soon as possible!"
The college student glanced at the two sisters and said to Qi Shan, "So let them go. There aren't many humans left, let's not kill each other!"
The two men faced off for a few seconds. Qi Shan took a step back and put away the black dagger.
He walked to the side, used his toe to lift the shotgun, tossed it to the college student, turned his head, and walked out.
"The reason evil people are called evil is because they harbor malice in their hearts and suspect everyone else of having ill intentions.
You're showing kindness by letting them go, but they might just shoot you in the back as soon as you walk out the door.
I hope you don't regret this decision!"
As the words fell, Qi Shan's figure had already disappeared.
The younger sister couldn't help but cry out in pain, tears streaming down her face. The older sister was filled with sorrow.
Her eyes were filled with regret, hatred, and all sorts of complex emotions intertwined.
The college student stood behind them with the shotgun, seeing the two of them so miserable, and didn't know what to say.
After a long while, he tentatively said, "I have some gauze here. Do you want to bandage the wound on your leg first?"
After waiting for a while, seeing that the other party had no reaction, the college student was just about to ask again when the older sister suddenly wiped her face and turned her head: "Please believe us, we really just wanted to steal the gun. There are zombies everywhere on the streets, we are just two women who want to protect ourselves!"
The college student nodded somewhat awkwardly, took out two rolls of medical bandages from his waist bag, walked over, and handed them to the two of them.
He hesitated for a moment and said, "Do you want me to help you get it out?"
The older sister looked at the younger sister, and the younger sister nodded, sobbing.
She was in so much pain that she was about to pass out, her forehead covered in fine beads of sweat.
But the intense pain was in her leg, and she couldn't pass out even if she wanted to, so she could only endure it, a feeling that made her wish she were dead.
The older sister's eyes were filled with tears, pitiful: "Thank you, please help us!"
The college student slung the shotgun behind him, bent down, grabbed the dagger, told the older sister to hold down the younger sister's leg, and with a sudden force, pulled the dagger straight out, and blood spurted out.
The two of them busied themselves with the wound, and finally managed to bandage it, but the bleeding only slowed down slightly.
The college student had just wiped away his sweat and said, "We need to find some anti-inflammatory and hemostatic medicine as soon as possible, and it would be best to get some replacement bandages, otherwise Little Rick's leg could easily get infected... uh... what are you doing?"
The college student stiffly turned his head and found that the shotgun had once again appeared in the older sister's hand, and the muzzle was pointed at him.
He instantly broke out in a sweat.
