American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#711 - Break the City

The French giant cannon was indeed incredibly powerful. Each shot unleashed an explosive force comparable to a fuel-air bomb. In less than thirty shots, it decimated more than half of the two companies responsible for suppressing the bandits.

Countless more were injured and unconscious. Those still able to move were driven by primal fear, scattering and running wildly in all directions.

Drones, positioned on the perimeter for surveillance, unleashed the true power of their mounted light machine guns.

Hunted relentlessly by the swarming drones, no one could escape.

The Second-Devil Legion, which had been following behind, prepared to provide manpower at crucial moments, were utterly terrified by the exaggerated scene.

They no longer cared about the Japanese or anything else. The army instantly broke ranks, wishing they had two extra legs to flee down the mountain.

Qi Shan, well-prepared, had a large contingent of bandits positioned in advance at the rear. They directly cut into the ranks of the routed army from the side.

Without firing many shots, they captured the vast majority of the soldiers.

The Second-Devils knelt on the ground, weeping with joy.

The entire battle lasted less than two hours, and more than half of that time was spent cleaning up the battlefield.

Qi Shan was indeed a little surprised that the trouble was resolved so quickly. Although he knew that the French giant cannon was a famous weapon in land warfare during World War II.

Its power should not be underestimated.

But he did not expect its deterrent effect on the battlefield to be so strong.

He originally thought that after the shells were fired, at most a portion of the people would be killed, scattering the charging formation. Then, he would drop a pulse bomb, unique to the Resident Evil world, to wipe everyone out.

Unexpectedly, the pulse bomb didn't even have a chance to be deployed before the enemy was already dealt with.

The roar of the giant cannon shook the surrounding ten miles. Even Changchun, dozens of kilometers away, could faintly hear the rumbling thunder, let alone Heixiazi Ridge, which was close at hand.

The bandits all carried some of Qi Shan's Nen ability and were located at a high position, relatively far away, so at most they experienced some tinnitus.

However, half of the Second-Devils at the center of the battlefield were rendered directly deaf, and a small portion had their brains damaged by the sound, leaving them as harmless simpletons for the rest of their lives.

After this battle ended, the Kwantung Army was in an uproar.

After the observers from various forces stationed in Changchun reported the results of this encirclement and suppression, it quickly attracted attention and concern.

But before they could react, the bandit army of Heixiazi Ridge directly smashed open the gates of Changchun.

With a small but elite force and a large number of sophisticated weapons, they quickly occupied the southeastern corner of the city and continuously expanded outwards from there.

Qi Shan personally took action, using a signal jammer to directly disrupt radio signals, preventing any information from being transmitted.

Coupled with the assistance of a large number of drones, they only fought Gu Cheng's 20,000 troops for about three days before quickly seizing control of the entire Changchun in a snake-swallowing-an-elephant maneuver.

Afterward, Qi Shan converted a large number of people into puppet troops to fill the ranks.

The military strength of Heixiazi Ridge expanded like a balloon.

This day was April 5th, the Qingming Festival, later known as the Qingming Uprising.

Qi Shan did not appear in public but pushed Wang Dading forward.

And took the opportunity to raise the banner of the Volunteer Army, with the slogan "Expel the Tartars and restore our rivers and mountains."

And in the name of the Volunteer Army, they officially declared war on the Kwantung Army, claiming to recover the entire Northeast region within three months.

When the news spread, the whole country was shocked.

A bandit had unexpectedly transformed into an anti-Japanese vanguard and unexpectedly captured Changchun, directly occupying the capital of Manchuria. This was trampling the Japanese's face into the mud!

How could the Japanese let it go?

Jiang Guitou was furious and telegraphed the Volunteer Army, demanding that Wang Dading immediately lead his troops out of the Manchurian region and not escalate the Sino-Japanese conflict.

Other regions had those who supported it, those who opposed it, those who were neutral, and those who cursed it. Public opinion was immediately in chaos.

The Japanese took the opportunity to expose the details of Heixiazi Ridge and claimed that they did not recognize the banner of the Volunteer Army, asserting that Wang Dading was just a gang of bandits. In the name of suppressing bandits, they mobilized a mechanized division from the Heilongjiang region and coerced two infantry divisions from Manchuria, with the army pressing directly on Changchun.

The situation in the Northeast region suddenly changed, and the atmosphere of war became intense.

Qi Shan didn't care. Instead, he sent people to investigate the residents of the city. As long as they were Japanese, they were all arrested. And the traitors who had served the Japanese would not be spared. Ordinary people, however, were not harmed in the slightest.

Even now, the people looked at Heixiazi Ridge with fear and trepidation, believing from the bottom of their hearts that they were just a gang of bandits who had captured the city, who would at most loot it and not stay for long.

Moreover, many people had the idea of feigning compliance to gain benefits and, at a critical moment, selling out Qi Shan to curry favor with the Japanese and the high-ranking officials of Manchuria.

Qi Shan pretended not to know, letting his subordinates engage in their own petty actions. Now that everything was ready, with a city as a demonstration, he could begin large-scale immigration. He was worried about a lack of population, afraid that no one would come looking for trouble.

If the people below could give play to their subjective initiative and actively solve the population problem for Qi Shan, of course, he would not punish them. If the numbers were large enough, Qi Shan might even issue some rewards in high spirits.

In fact, as far as Qi Shan was concerned, as long as they had the face of an Asian, whether they were Japanese, Korean, or even people from small Southeast Asian countries, there was not much difference.

After all, what Qi Shan needed was their bodies, not their souls.

A large number of pre-prepared Righteous Soul Pills were distributed.

As long as you pried open the Japanese's mouth and stuffed one in, their own soul would be squeezed out of their body, replaced by an ordinary artificial soul that had received modern education, was familiar with modern society, possessed basic values, and had experienced two years of zombie life.

Throwing them directly into the Resident Evil world, they would not be surprised but would be able to thrive.

For Qi Shan, it was a win-win situation to eliminate dangerous thoughts and harvest population.

Drones formed a monitoring network, patrolling the skies over Changchun 24 hours a day.

Mechanical mice and infrared sensors were deployed on all streets.

Coupled with kinetic energy sensors and an aerial surveillance network, Qi Shan had made the entire Changchun as impenetrable as an iron bucket. Anyone who made a small move would be discovered by the investigation department at the first time, and then secret police would come to the door, directly present relevant evidence, and take all these people away.

After a few days of panic, some people had begun to notice that the many Japanese immigrants and immigrants from other countries in the city were decreasing at a rate visible to the naked eye.

While they were surprised, they were also a little scared.

Could these bandits be cannibals?
