American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#726 - Influence
"Over there, kill them and avenge Young Master Eiji!"
A leader roared, pointing his katana towards Qi Shan.
The surrounding underlings were dressed neatly, each in a suit, white shirt, black tie, and large sunglasses, with a silenced pistol in hand.
They extended one hand, leaning to the side, and relentlessly pulled the trigger, resembling scenes from a movie.
The leader, however, went against the grain.
Not only was he less handsome and muscular than his underlings, but his suit, though of the same material, was casually draped over his shoulders, the sleeves swaying in the wind.
Thick gauze was wrapped around his waist, exposing his strong pectoral muscles.
He held a roughly 1.5-meter-long Nodachi in both hands, its blade bright and smooth, gleaming under the light.
Clearly, Eiji's sudden death had driven him to the brink of collapse.
The extent of the Yamamoto Group's power was difficult for outsiders to comprehend; within the Japanese archipelago, it represented not only a top-tier family and a powerful conglomerate but also the prestige of the Yakuza.
In this era, amidst the global economic crisis, criminal organizations worldwide were expanding, seeking to reverse the slump of previous years.
But the wheels of history were constantly turning.
Those in high positions knew that criminal organizations had reached a point where they had to transform.
To survive, they had to intersect with large conglomerates, even becoming mutually beneficial.
Yamamoto Eiji's request for help had given the Yamaguchi組 hope and was taken very seriously, which was why they dispatched a large number of elite gunmen to assist him in obtaining the money.
The leader's original mission was to ensure Eiji's safety; obeying his orders was secondary.
Unexpectedly, due to a mere oversight, the important figure was killed right before his eyes.
With Eiji's death, the Yamaguchi組's transformation plan could be declared a failure.
Upon returning, the leader would inevitably be held accountable; ritual suicide was almost a certainty.
Having understood this, he was, of course, consumed by furious rage.
He pointed his blade at Qi Shan, ordering his men to eliminate him at any cost.
Qi Shan held a geographical advantage, and he had brought plenty of powerful firearms; moreover, their small pistols were no match for him.
Therefore, facing the overwhelming hail of bullets, Qi Shan instead revealed a smile, casually tossing his sniper rifle to the ground, and pulling out two small submachine guns from behind.
The magazines had been deliberately modified, expanded from 50 rounds to 100.
Raising the muzzles, Qi Shan directly pulled the triggers, sweeping from left to right.
A large number of bullets poured out, and the gunmen below fell in droves.
Like wheat being cut down by a scythe, wherever Qi Shan's gun muzzles swept, people fell.
And the enemy's bullets, aside from slightly touching Qi Shan's clothes, mostly fell haphazardly on the iron skin of the containers like free-falling pebbles, making clanging sounds.
The leader was going mad, watching Qi Shan standing there like a god, neither dodging nor evading, yet they were unable to harm him.
Instead, his own men were dying in large numbers with the opponent's slightest movements.
From the moment they discovered the opponent's location to when half of his men were killed, no more than 30 seconds had passed.
If the leader could have calmed down at this moment and thought carefully, he should have made the decision to retreat.
Before understanding the opponent's true strength, the bullets had clearly proven ineffective, so naturally, they needed to change their method of attack.
Unfortunately, the leader had been blinded by rage; with two men dying before him, he threw out his command sword, bent over, snatched two pistols, and, with eyes wide like copper bells, continuously pulled the triggers at Qi Shan.
The pistols gently vibrated, the recoil striking his palms, and the bullets shot out through the silencers, directly hitting Qi Shan.
In a situation of infinitely pushing the limit, the leader almost stared at his bullets hitting the target.
And the cruise ship behind him, after traveling a certain distance, suddenly burst into flames, the fire instantly spreading across the entire deck, the raging flames mixed with thick black smoke billowing upwards.
In the southeast corner of the sea, an emergency rescue boat had just emerged, and in the air, closely following, was the Focus News Agency's dedicated helicopter.
The next morning, when Crocodile woke up groggily from bed wearing floral shorts,
Lee Jay was already dressed neatly, making breakfast with Sherry.
Crocodile came out of the bathroom in a daze, and when he looked up, his eyes instantly widened.
"You two..."
Lee Jay revealed a bright smile, holding a frying pan, and placing two connected fried eggs on a plate.
"Good morning, Big Crocodile, we've already made breakfast, come and eat!"
Sherry glanced back at her dad, said nothing, took a plate of vegetables from the kitchen, placed it on the table, and turned around to go back.
Lee Jay didn't care what Crocodile's reaction was, followed Sherry back, and the two whispered to each other, not knowing what Lee Jay said, Sherry actually giggled.
Crocodile's eyeballs almost popped out, his fingers trembling: "You... you..."
"Hey, Dad, what are you doing? Hurry up and sit down to eat, Lee Jay got up early this morning, specially prepared it for us."
Sherry said, and gave Lee Jay a sweet smile, then turned her head and continued to busy herself.
Crocodile was, after all, someone who had mixed in the streets, his heart was much bigger than ordinary people, took a few deep breaths, and his emotions calmed down, stared at Lee Jay for a few moments, and then swaggered to sit at the dining table.
Lee Jay put a bowl of soup on the table, just as he was about to leave, he was grabbed by the arm by Crocodile.
He whispered: "What are you up to, kid? Didn't I tell you yesterday? Don't you dare try anything with my daughter?"
Lee Jay also whispered: "When a man is of age, he should marry; when a woman is of age, she should be married, love is free, no one can control it. Besides, yesterday was yesterday, today is today, you yourself said, 50% commission, provide me with everything I need, now I need your daughter as my wife!"
Crocodile gritted his teeth: "You're really ruthless, kid, I've changed my mind, I'll only take 30% from you!"
Lee Jay refused without hesitation: "Don't even think about it!"
"20%!"
"Not a chance!"
"Argh, you're making me so angry, I'm warning you, you brat, don't go too far, 15%! 15%! Why aren't you saying anything?"
As he spoke, Crocodile noticed that Lee Jay suddenly froze, following his gaze towards the TV, he only heard one sentence, and Crocodile was also stunned!
