American Comics: BOSS Invasion
#737 - The time traveler came to your door?
Standing atop the Statue of Liberty's head, Qi Shan gazed into the distance, his eyes met by a battlefield of slaughter.
Hordes of corpses had already submerged New York, with second and third generation mutated species dominating the entire sky.
A small city built around the White House served as humanity's last stronghold in this world.
The Americans had retreated into the underground vaults of the White House, fighting a desperate battle against the zombie hordes for their last right to survival.
Alice, Wesker, Claire, Ada Wong, and several other prominent characters stood on the White House rooftop, assessing the situation outside.
Qi Shan mused, "Unknowingly, the plot of Resident Evil has progressed this far."
According to the normal storyline, the battle of the White House was nearing its end.
In the world's background setting, the virus had undergone countless updates and iterations, genetically altering other species, whether plants or animals, in a fundamental way.
Even some plants no longer performed photosynthesis, instead directly stacking more oxygen atoms to release ozone.
Ozone was impossible for humans to breathe directly.
Therefore, the entire atmospheric environment was becoming increasingly hostile to humans.
The protagonist team and Umbrella Corporation had fought back and forth for several rounds, with Umbrella's bases being destroyed one after another. Coupled with the outbreak of the zombie tide, the zombies' aggressiveness was increasing at an exaggerated rate, and the ground forces were unable to hold out.
To preserve humanity's last gathering point, Umbrella had no choice but to deploy its own forces.
Despite Umbrella's claims, only the troops at the White House remained of humanity worldwide.
The rest had either turned into zombies or were already buried underground.
But in reality, the Australian continent, shrouded in dense fog, was now flourishing with life.
Immigrant populations were living according to new social models.
In terms of city management, an artificial intelligence assisted with planning and supervised execution, which could reduce tens of thousands of manpower.
The law enforcement was handled by a mechanical police force, and those who were stubborn or incorrigible criminals were directly executed.
Although Qi Shan needed population, he couldn't just take anyone.
He wouldn't tolerate those who were shameless and audacious.
"It seems the plot is about to enter its final stages."
Qi Shan observed the area for a while, seeing the stronghold's fierce firepower, with various high-powered weapons emerging endlessly, and explosions never ceasing.
Waves of missiles were launched one after another, with fireballs everywhere in the air and on the ground.
The weapons they used were powerful, but they were clearly using them in the wrong way.
The massive sounds, although eliminating some zombies, attracted even more.
These corpses were layered upon layered, densely packed. Although a single shell could instantly obliterate over a hundred, the sheer number of zombies was overwhelming.
Every time a gap appeared, it would be filled again in the next second, as if the shells were simply hitting water, giving the survivors no chance to breathe.
The flying dragons were as dense as a swarm of bats, traveling in packs, extremely ferocious.
Their usual attack targets were high-altitude positions, so they were constantly entangled with the high anti-air towers.
The black dragons were enormous and incredibly sharp, able to tear people to shreds with a single pass.
Even modern weapons were not very effective against them.
"I guess they can hold out for a while, so I won't interfere!"
Qi Shan wasn't interested in the main storyline. The most interesting part of the Resident Evil world was the large environment surrounded by zombies, a thousand miles of desolation, devoid of human figures, with only a horde of living dead wandering the streets.
It was like suddenly releasing the pressure of the workplace, allowing one to vent emotions wildly in an empty world of zombies.
After years of development and construction, the new city established by the immigration center had been completely completed, with a perfect internal economic cycle and residents' living conditions gradually improving.
Qi Shan's exclusive island, of course, had already been completed with construction and modification. If he wanted to rest, he could directly return to his private island, with its blue sky, clear sea, and white sand, which was much better than this smog-filled environment.
Qi Shan was about to leave, go back for a drink, and enjoy a vacation.
Unexpectedly, just as the thought arose, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck down from the dark sky.
Qi Shan exclaimed, "That is?"
The lightning directly struck a rooftop, instantly charring a staggering female zombie.
The charred body fell to the ground, convulsing uncontrollably.
This would have been fine, although lightning on a sunny day was a bit strange, it wasn't anything particularly unusual.
However, Qi Shan clearly sensed that the corpse, which had just lost its life force, had actually been reborn in the instant it fell.
Resurrection from the dead? This was interesting.
Qi Shan's figure flashed, and he directly appeared beside the charred corpse.
The door to the rooftop had been kicked open, with half the door torn off, leaving only two solid hinges connecting to a triangular remnant of the wall.
As such, the small door was wide open, allowing zombies to enter and exit freely.
Besides the corpse lying there, there were also five or six strangely shaped zombies wandering around on the rooftop.
Qi Shan didn't even lift an eyelid, simply pointing his finger, and the surrounding zombies disappeared without a trace.
Subsequently, several zombies were seen falling from the clouds above the White House, directly splattering into a pile of minced meat.
Qi Shan ignored the others and quickly stepped forward to examine the charred corpse.
That strange sense of life energy was even stronger now.
Just then, the charred corpse suddenly cracked open, the cracks appearing from the chest and spreading throughout the body in the blink of an eye, then shattering abruptly like a broken mirror.
It shattered into triangular fragments the size of small fingernails, neatly scattered on the ground.
Beneath the charred skin was a fair-skinned girl wearing a cheerleader uniform.
Her black hair was styled in pigtails, lying on the ground, forming the arc of two cat ears, making her look extremely cute.
The girl was very beautiful, wearing a completely blue uniform, the skirt was a bit short, and the upper body was only wearing a wide suspender, two white lines, her arms exposed, and her two small hands were still holding two pom-poms, one small leg bent backwards, as if she was jumping up and cheering.
The appearance was one thing, but what Qi Shan cared about most was the life force emanating from the girl.
Why did it feel unlike someone from this world, but rather a bit like the traversers he had captured before?
This was directly delivered into his hands, Qi Shan's expression was strange.
