Upon hearing Gwen knocking on the wall, Peter also walked to the wall and quietly tapped it twice in response.

Seeing Peter's response, Gwen turned around, lifted the window, and climbed to Peter's window along the emergency fire escape outside.

"Hey! Peter."

Looking at Gwen squatting in front of his window, pressing her face against the glass, Peter felt that Gwen was incredibly cute.

But Peter quickly stepped forward and lifted the window, allowing Gwen to crawl into the room.

"You're still not asleep this late?"

"I can't sleep." Gwen sat on the edge of Peter's bed, propping herself up with her hands, and said, "Peter, aren't you recently very interested in superheroes... no, more specifically, in Spider-Woman?"

"Yes, Spider-Woman, I am indeed very interested. Why are we talking about this?"

"Peter, do you think Spider-Woman would kill criminals while fighting them?"

"Spider-Woman?" Peter shook his head. "Gwen, I don't think Spider-Woman would do that."

"Hmm?" Gwen looked at Peter in confusion. She didn't understand why Peter believed in Spider-Woman so much.

"Since Spider-Woman started operating in New York City, every criminal she captures is handed over to the police. So far, there haven't been any reports of Spider-Woman killing anyone."

"Seriously, Gwen, I believe in Spider-Woman!"

"Just consider me a fan filter. In my mind, Spider-Woman is a kind and righteous superhero!"

Gwen was moved again and felt a complex mix of emotions.

She was moved because Peter liked and trusted Spider-Woman, who was actually herself...

The complexity came from the fact that Peter seemed to have too much faith in superheroes.

If Peter knew what Superman had done tonight... he would probably find it hard to accept, right?

Gwen once again recalled the words Superman had said to her.

"Hey, Gwen, you should tell me what's really going on with you. I can tell that you're burdened with something."

"We grew up together, and if you have any difficulties or confusion, you can completely talk to me. Who knows, maybe I can give you some answers?" Peter sat down next to Gwen.

The two were very close, with only a fist-sized distance between their shoulders.

"Peter, I saw some news... about Superman!"

"News?" Peter pretended to look puzzled. "Besides caring about Spider-Woman's news, I don't really pay much attention to other superheroes... What happened?"

Peter's words made Gwen feel somewhat relieved.

Using the excuse of news, Gwen realized that she shouldn't have revealed what happened today in any other way.

"I saw in the news... Superman is also fighting criminals."

"Isn't that normal? What else can superheroes do if not fight criminals? Become idol stars?" Peter shrugged.

"Peter!" Gwen pouted. Although Peter's statement was not wrong, she couldn't help but feel a bit attacked.

"Ahem, Gwen, please continue."

"Superman... may not be as we see him in DC comics. He is not an inherently good superhero. He shows no mercy to those criminals and even kills them with a single punch."

"Oh?" Peter's face showed a surprised expression, but he said, "Superman has had many versions since his creation... in some versions, he does indeed kill people, so it's not surprising."

"Moreover, Gwen, are you really sure that he is Superman?"

"Superman is a character from DC. Don't you think it's absurd for someone to come out of a comic book?"

"Although I'm not sure if he is really Superman... the news did mention that he killed people. I'm wondering if the public would resist if Superman were to eliminate criminals in front of everyone."

Peter sneered, "If Superman can eliminate criminals, why would he care about what the outside world says?"

"In fact, I personally think that Superman's approach may be correct. For dealing with some extremely wicked criminals, sending them on their way is the best solution."

"Those criminals reported in the news, aren't they all stained with blood on their hands?"

"There is an ancient saying in China that goes, 'Be kind to enemies, and you are cruel to yourself.'"

Gwen carefully listened to what Peter said and couldn't help but ask, "What if Wonder Woman were to learn Superman's extreme way of doing things and start eliminating criminals too?"

"It's more accurate to say that each superhero has their own principles and boundaries. Wonder Woman prefers to hand criminals over to the police for judgment, while Superman takes it upon himself to eliminate them... I don't think Wonder Woman would necessarily imitate Superman."

"That's true..." After listening to Peter's words, Gwen's mind suddenly became clear.

"I don't know if it's just my imagination, Gwen, but it seems like you care a lot about Superman?"

"Care? Not at all, I have no feelings towards Superman..." Gwen shook her head.

"Does that mean you don't like Superman?"

"I don't like him at all, I..." Gwen grabbed the bedsheet with both hands, and the room suddenly became incredibly quiet.

A few seconds later, Gwen leaned towards Peter's position, and their shoulders gently touched.

"I can see that you've been burdened with something lately, Gwen. How about we talk more tonight?"

"Okay..."
