American Comics: The Mighty Superman, Starting From Gwen Spider

Chapter 41: Bat-Bat Universe, Supergirl Is Imprisoned

DCEU, also known as the "DC Extended Universe," is a unified worldview constructed by Warner Bros. and DC Comics through a series of superhero movies adapted from DC comics.

Similar to the DC universe in the comics, the DCEU is built upon common elements, settings, performances, and characters through crossover works.

The DCEU was launched in 2013 with its inaugural film, "Superman: Man of Steel."

At that time, both Peter and most netizens believed that the DCEU would become a highly popular superhero comic adaptation universe, just like Marvel's MCU. However, the DCEU has had a rather tumultuous journey.

In this universe, apart from the first "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman" films, which were big hits, the other films, such as "Superman: Man of Steel," "BVS," and "Shazam," were only moderate successes.

Most of the other films either didn't make money or suffered losses.

Especially the 2023 release of "The Flash" became one of the most financially unsuccessful films in the DCEU series.

Peter has naturally seen "The Flash," and in fact, the plot of the film is okay, but the special effects... were somewhat disappointing.

However, "The Flash" was intended to conclude the "DCEU" universe, so even if it lost money, it can be considered as a solid conclusion to the DCEU.

After the downfall of the DCEU, the film universe of DC comics did not come to an end.

Under the guidance of the director of "Guardians of the Galaxy," a brand new "DCU" universe is now being launched.

Peter recalls the twists and turns of the DCEU and can't help but shake his head.

His gaze focuses on "The Flash" movie file of the DCEU.

"The Flash" movie is adapted from the famous DC comic event "Flashpoint." Peter remembers clearly that this film mainly involves three universes.

The first universe is the normal DCEU universe, where characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman exist.

The second universe is a new branch universe created by The Flash using his ability to travel through time and space and distort history.

In this second universe, Wonder Woman does not exist, and there is no trace of Aquaman. However, there is a Batman played by Keaton and a imprisoned Supergirl with short black hair named 'Kayla'.

As for the third universe, it is a universe where Aquaman and George Clooney's Batman exist...

Definitely, in this movie, not only three universes appear. Universes like the one with Riff Superman and Helen Supergirl, as well as the universe with Cage Superman, also make appearances. However, these universes only appear briefly in The Flash movie and are not important.

Peter doesn't want to jump to the later universes of the DCEU so early. He opens The Flash movie to go to the second universe, the one where Batman is played by Michael Keaton.

The opponent Peter chooses is General Zod from Krypton!

In this universe, General Zod and his subordinates will appear. These incredibly powerful Kryptonians are enough to allow Peter to fully familiarize himself with the immense power of his current body!

Peter quickly drags the progress bar of The Flash movie, and when the time on the progress bar reaches over thirty minutes, Peter chooses to travel through time!

At this point in time, The Flash has successfully traveled to the second universe.

...

It's similar to the situation when he traveled to the Spider-Verse last time.

However, this time, Peter appears in an empty park.

When using the ability to travel to a new world in the world of American comics, it is inevitable to appear in an uninhabited area. Peter is very satisfied with this default rule.

"Let's go meet the female Superman first."

"In this universe, the female Superman seems to be locked in a secret base in Siberia by mercenaries... With my current ability, I can easily determine her location."

The Flash traveled to this second universe, where Superman does not exist.

The initial plot development in this world is very different.

In the storyline of "Man of Steel," Superman was successfully sent to Earth by his parents and was not intercepted by Zod and others.

However, in this universe, although Superman was also sent to Earth by his parents, he was successfully intercepted by Zod and others at the moment of launch.

Zod and others successfully intercepted Superman and personally killed him.

However, Zod and others did not find the "Kryptonian Codex" that records all Kryptonians on the baby Superman, because in this world, the Kryptonian Codex was integrated into Supergirl Kayla's body.

It is precisely because of this reason that Zod and others have been searching for Kayla's whereabouts all the way, eventually coming to Earth.

In the DC world, Superman is the center of the universe.

Once Superman, the center of this universe, does not exist, the universe without Superman is destined to be destroyed.

The current situation in the universe where Peter is located is like this.

Zod and others descended, and without Superman standing up to fight, Earth was destroyed.

In fact, even if they could withstand the arrival of the Kryptonians, when Darkseid came to Earth, without Superman to confront Darkseid, Earth would still be destroyed.

In other words, no matter what, as long as Superman does not exist in the DC universe, the destruction of this universe is only a matter of time.

Peter's figure flashed, and he instantly changed into a black Superman battle suit while wearing pajamas.

The black battle suit is made of special nanomaterials from Krypton and will remain fitted as long as Peter's body doesn't change too dramatically.

Looking up at the sun in the sky, Peter closed his eyes slightly and enjoyed a few seconds of sunlight from other universes.

Then, Peter opened his eyes and exhaled a breath.

"This time, let's try full-speed flight."

Peter slowly squatted down, his leg muscles gradually tensing.

Looking up slightly, Peter spread his hands slightly, and the invisible biofield spread out, causing the sand and soil debris on the surrounding ground to float uncontrollably in a spiral shape.

In an instant, a terrifying force was released from Peter's leg muscles.

Boom!!
