Apocalypse Cheater
163 Date In Modern Fantasia Part 2
[: Daniel POV :]
Nevertheless, my primary concern was ensuring Cecilia's safety.
"No matter what, I won't allow any harm to befall you, my dear,"
I declared with a sweet smile while prompting a warm smile from Cecilia.
"We should get going and pay a visit to the Main Headquarters of the Teleportation Corps''
''It's only from the Main District Headquarters of the Teleportation Corps that we can teleport to the Outer Lands,"
I explained, eager to start our date.
"Alright," she replied, her enthusiasm matching my own.
We soon arrived at the headquarters of the teleportation corps, a remarkable white spherical structure.
As we entered, everything around us was bathed in a pristine white glow, setting the stage for our adventure.
As we stepped inside, the Teleportation Corps headquarters enveloped us in an otherworldly purity.
From the immaculate tiles that adorned the floors to the spotless walls and the ceiling above, everything seemed to radiate a brilliant white.
Approaching the nearby receptionist, we were greeted by a man who possessed an oddly professionalism charm.
"Welcome to the teleportation corps. How and where can I assist you with teleporting?"
He inquired, his voice carrying a gentle and somewhat effeminate tone.
"We'd like to be transported to the Outer Lands,"
I responded, and my request met with an unexpected reaction.
The receptionist's eyes widened in horror as his expression shifted from surprise to intense concern.
"You want to visit the Outer Lands!?''
''Do you have any idea what kind of place that is!? Are you willingly seeking death!?''
''Don't squander your life in pursuit of an adventure where the Saint of Shield sacrificed his life to create the protective barrier,"
He cautioned, his voice filled with genuine dread.
The receptionist's reaction was one of pure horror as he realized that we were intentionally seeking out the Outer Lands, a place with a notorious reputation for claiming the lives of countless adventurers.
"Please, we're well aware of the risks, but we still wish to visit that land,"
I stated firmly.
I appreciated the receptionist's concern, but I wasn't willing to be dissuaded.
With a heavy sigh, the receptionist reluctantly relented.
"Very well. I'll warn you, though.
While we can transport you to the Outer Lands, there's no way to return through teleportation.
The only exit is by leaving the protective barrier, but whether or not you can survive more than a day in there is another question," he cautioned, the gravity of his words sinking in.
The receptionist quickly addressed the practicalities.
"Aside from that, the cost for two people will be 2 Diamonds," he informed us.
I readily complied, reaching into my virtual inventory to retrieve two Diamonds and hand them over to the receptionist.
It was clear from his reaction that my wealth took him by surprise, and he couldn't help but sigh, knowing that our reason to visit the Outer Lands was unchangeable.
"Very well, please step into the portal''
''In just five seconds, you'll be teleported to the Outer Lands,"
The receptionist instructed, gesturing toward the portal.
We both stepped onto a circular platform etched with intricate runes, ready to embark on our odd date.
As we stood on the platform, the receptionist made the necessary adjustments to our coordinates.
Without further delay, we felt a sudden, jolting sensation as we were teleported to the Outer Lands.
Upon our departure, the receptionist couldn't help but express his exasperation at our decision.
"Sigh, another two players who will likely meet a pointless demise," he muttered in resignation.
Despite his concern, he understood that there was little he could do.
His role was that of a receptionist, and his primary duty was to facilitate teleportations.
With that, he resumed his tasks, treating us as though we were any other adventurers.
Meanwhile, as the blinding light of the teleportation process subsided, me and Cecilia found ourselves in a desolate and devastated landscape, marking the beginning of our small datte into the treacherous Outer Lands.
"We've made it to the Outer Lands,"
I announced, a sense of both familiarity and anticipation washing over me as I gazed upon the eerie landscape.
Cecilia voiced her observations, capturing the unsettling atmosphere that surrounded us.
"This place truly lives up to its eerie and creepy reputation''
''I've heard that the Saint of Shield sacrificed his life to create the protective barrier here," she remarked, her eyes taking in the otherworldly surroundings.
Indeed, it felt like we had entered a different realm altogether, one severed from the familiar territory of Modern Fantasia.
The sky above was tainted with a sickly crimson hue, and the land beneath our feet was littered with a macabre collage of blood and corpses, belonging to both monsters and humans.
The Outer Lands were as ominous as they were deadly, and our journey had only just begun.
Ruins of once-majestic buildings stood as sombre reminders of the former glory of this land, now overtaken by the very monsters it had sought to imprison.
I took a moment to provide Cecilia with some background information.
"After realizing that there was no hope of repelling the Monster Invasion Break, the Saint of Shield, with the assistance of the Council of Arrays, utilized his most formidable powers to erect a barrier that severed this land from the mainland."
I continued our trek, explaining further, "This land was effectively cleaved from the continent, forming its own realm now known as the Outer Land''
''There's nothing remarkable about the Outer Land, except for the monstrosities that inhabit it."
As we walked, we prepared ourselves to face the daunting challenges that lay ahead.
Cecilia's curiosity led her to ponder the formidable threat that had compelled the Saint of Shield to make the ultimate sacrifice.
"I can't help but wonder just how powerful those monsters must have been to force the Saint of Shield to give up his life," she mused aloud.
Her query prompted further contemplation.
"The Saint of Shield was renowned as the strongest hunter, celebrated for his impervious defence and impenetrable shield''
''It's perplexing how such a formidable figure could lose his life to mere monsters," she added, her voice tinged with wonder.
I offered a thoughtful response, my gaze still scanning the eerie landscape.
"There are numerous enigmas in this world, and Modern Fantasia offers limitless possibilities''
''Keep in mind, if the Danger Zone is considered a beginner's area for players to farm, the Outer Lands would be the equivalent of 'hell mode.'
''As for the Abyss mode, that's an entirely different concept, reserved for the Dark Continent."
The dangers and mysteries of this realm were unlike anything we had faced before.
Cecilia found some humour in our unconventional choice, her laughter ringing out.
"So, we're skipping the beginner mode and jumping right into Hell Mode?"
She quipped with a playful chuckle.
I shared my rationale with her, a nonchalant shrug punctuating my words.
"Well, it's the fastest and easiest way to farm, and who knows what opportunities we might stumble upon along the way."
As if in response to our discussion, a colossal figure emerged on the horizon.
I couldn't help but point in awe at the creature that lay ahead.
"Speak of the devil, there it is,"
I remarked.
Before us loomed a titanic monster, its size rivalling that of a mountain.
Cecilia's voice quivered not out of fear, but sheer astonishment.
"W-What kind of monster is that!?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide as she beheld the monstrous creature.
I identified the colossal creature before us as a "Mountainous Breaker," the name rolling off my tongue.
With every heavy footfall, the ground trembled beneath us, emphasizing the enormity of the beast.
I delved into the creature's history, revealing, "This is one of the monsters that engaged in battle with the Saint of Shield''
''Remarkably, it survived the encounter, despite coming perilously close to losing its life."
Cecilia's astonishment was evident.
"It's still alive to this day?"
She inquired, her surprise understandable given the Saint of Shield's legends dated back hundreds of years.
I provided an explanation to assuage her wonder.
"Of course, sweetheart. A monster's lifespan is determined by its bloodline, race, and level''
''In this case, the Mountainous Breaker is roughly around level 850."
The enormity of the creature's level left Cecilia flabbergasted.
"850!? I'm not even at level 100, and we're about to face a Level 850 monster?"
She exclaimed, a mixture of disbelief and excitement evident in her tone.
Wanting to farm the fastest way, I made a decision.
"Alright, sweetheart. Stay back here and let me handle this."
The massive size of the Mountainous Breaker left Cecilia visibly concerned. S
he had faith in my abilities, but she had yet to witness the full extent of my powers, and that uncertainty left her somewhat anxious.
She expressed her concern, and I reassured her with a soft smile.
"Don't worry. It'll all be over before you know it."
''I believe in you sweetheart''
Her nod in response conveyed both her understanding and trust in my capabilities.
