Apocalypse Cheater

95 A second Cecilia?

In one of the mansion's reserved guest rooms, the luxurious décor and elegant furnishings create an ambience of comfort and opulence.

Soft, muted lighting accentuated the room's warmth and tranquillity.

Inside this room, a stunning young woman stood before an ornate mirror, engrossed in her reflection.

The room was filled with an array of cosmetics, each carefully chosen to accentuate her natural beauty.

Her delicate fingers expertly brushed makeup onto her flawless skin, enhancing her already captivating features.

Her eyes, like pools of liquid amber, held a hint of mystery and allure.

Her resemblance to Cecilia was uncanny, they could easily pass for twins if seen side by side.

Every contour of their faces, every graceful curve of their figures, mirrored each other without a single distinguishing feature.

It was as if nature had meticulously crafted two identical masterpieces.

Her intentions and desires remained veiled, hidden behind a mask of beauty and intrigue.

A wicked smile curled upon her lips, transforming her visage from an innocent beauty into that of a seductive enchantress.

Her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief and cunning, reflecting the darkness hidden behind her alluring exterior.

She was a master of manipulation, and she knew how to play her cards well to get what she desired.

"Ah, those fools," she mused, her voice dripping with a honeyed charm that concealed her true intentions.

"To think I would have to entertain them again''

Her thoughts then turned to her rebellious daughter, Cecilia.

A complex mixture of emotions clouded her mind.

She had watched her daughter grow from a spirited child into a defiant teenager.

Their relationship had grown strained over the years, leaving her with a sense of unease.

"Where is that rebellious daughter of mine?" she wondered aloud, her tone tinged with both concern and exasperation.

She had hoped that the grand event would bring them closer together, but the distance between them seemed to widen with each passing day.

The complexities of their relationship weighed heavily on her mind as she continued her preparations for the evening's festivities.

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she continued to reflect on the strained relationship with her daughter, Cecilia.

The memory of a particular incident, one that had caused a significant rift between them, resurfaced in her mind.

"Sigh, I guess after finding out that I had cheated on James, she started to distance herself from me," she admitted to herself, her smile fading as she acknowledged the painful truth.

It was a secret she had hoped to bury in the depths of her past, hidden away from her daughter's knowledge.

Life had a way of unfolding in unexpected ways, and despite her efforts to mend their fractured relationship, it seemed that time was the only remedy.

She had come to accept that some wounds might never fully heal, no matter how desperately she wished for reconciliation.

All she could do was wait and hope that someday, the gap between them would begin to close.

The woman who had been deep in thought and reminiscing was none other than Veronica, a woman known for her cunning and manipulative nature.

Her identity and intentions were far from a mystery to anyone familiar with the complex web of power and intrigue that weaved through the high society of the Unison Government.

With her makeup complete and her dark purple dress elegantly draped around her, Veronica exuded an air of confidence and allure.

She knew the effect her appearance would have on those in attendance, particularly the men who were drawn to her like moths to a flame.

"Hmm, without a doubt, this dress would catch the eyes of those men," she mused to herself, her voice laced with a hint of satisfaction.

Her eyes glittered with ambition as she contemplated the future. "And perhaps, in the future, they would dance around my palm," she added, her smile turning from genuine to something far more sinister as she regarded herself in the mirror.

Veronica's reflection in the mirror seemed to taunt her with its beauty, and as she continued to mutter affirmations to herself, her voice grew increasingly desperate.

"Aren't I beautiful? Aren't I pretty? Aren't I gorgeous? Aren't I adorable? Aren't I lovely? Aren't I!? Aren't I!? Aren't I!?...."

Each word that escaped her lips carried with it a sense of longing and insecurity, and by the end of her self-assessment, her eyes had darkened, and her gaze had become hollow.

It was as if her very existence had been marred by the relentless pursuit of perfection and approval.

As her breathing grew heavy and laboured, Veronica realized that she had once again succumbed to the darkness that had haunted her for so long.

But she couldn't afford to lose control, not here, not now.

"It's alright, Veronica," she whispered to herself, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and determination.

She closed her eyes and took slow, deep breaths, regaining control over her racing heart and troubled mind.

"Everything has been over ever since you took the position of a wife," she reassured herself, her words a mantra to ward off the demons of her past.

"There's no one who will harm you now, and there's no family who will cage and control you like a pet... It's all in the past."

With each breath, Veronica anchored herself in the present, pushing aside the haunting memories and insecurities that threatened to consume her.

Looking at the mirror that shows her panicked state, she calmed herself down by reminding herself that she's no longer bound by the past and she's free to do anything she wants.

"Don't you think you've taken quite a while for your makeup, my dear?"

Suddenly, a cool breeze swept in through the window, and a young boy perched himself along the windowsill, an amused look on his face.

Upon hearing the unfamiliar and foreign voice behind her, the woman's senses were overwhelmed with fear, as she could sense the aura of an impending threat, like an overpowering monster ready to strike at any moment.

Nonetheless, despite this, she didn't sense any hostility or intent to harm; all she felt was a warm, inviting presence.

Her mind began to race with various options on how to handle this situation.

However, as soon as she turned around, she was utterly captivated by the young man's striking appearance.

With his silvery hair and captivating eyes, there was no denying his remarkable looks.

Furthermore, his black and white suit added to his overall charm and attractiveness.

'Where on Earth did this young boy come from?' She couldn't help but wonder, her gaze still fixed on his face.

Unaware of the intensity of her gaze, Daniel felt perplexed by her unresponsiveness.

"Is she alright?" he wondered, growing concerned about her sudden change in behaviour.

Suddenly placing his palms on her forehead, the woman's eyes widened in surprise, caught off guard by his unexpected action.

However, as she gazed at his caring and compassionate expression, she found herself unable to move.

"Hmm, it doesn't appear that you're unwell or anything of the sort, my dear," he remarked thoughtfully.

"But if you're not feeling well, Cecilia, perhaps we should consider cancelling the plans we had made?" he suggested.

Cecilia had informed Daniel about the grand celebration, and her intention in inviting him was to showcase and assert her preference for him over anyone else, including her fiance.

In essence, Daniel's presence alone was a deterrent to any potential suitors. It seemed like the right time for her to publicly acknowledge their romantic relationship.

Indeed, they had become lovers.

Simultaneously, Daniel's purpose for attending this event was to nip potential problems in the bud.

In the future, some of these leaders could become troublesome in the future, causing more harm than good.

He was by no means a saint, but he couldn't deny that some of his regrets were linked to these individuals, and it all began with the inception of the Unison Government.

On the other hand, Veronica understood what was happening after hearing the name of her daughter.

'It seems like Cecilia's boyfriend mistook my identity for his girlfriend. Well, it's not like I can blame him since we both look terrifyingly the same'

Once she got to piece the puzzles together, she was laughing and smiling evilly inside.

'Well, my daughter wouldn't blame me for eating her own man right?'

She licked her lips seductively like a madman. The way she behaved shows how much of loose screws she had since no one would ever have this thought.

'Let's enjoy the fun for now'

She concluded before she acted like how her daughter would react in this kind of situation.

After all, there's a reason why many would say the mother and the daughter are a twin.

Without any hesitation, she jumped on him with her hands around his back and her chest pressing against his chest, arousing his hormones.

Watching the boy's reaction, Veronica smirked when she pressed her breast against his chest.

Seeing his innocent reaction, there was a certain kind of satisfaction pumping through her blood. And she wanted to see how far she pushed through before he couldn't take it anymore.
