Arc of Gunfire

First, I will post the update status of May. Many colleagues are leading the pace, saying that the updates are getting less and less, and I must cut it.

However, I still updated 220,000 words this month. I said that I would take a break and recharge in May, so it is normal to update less.

Next, I will report the results of recharging.

I posted a war history book in the middle of the month, but I have already read many of them, such as "Tigers in the Mud" and "Lost Victory". The only books I read this month are "Clay-footed Giant" and "Giant Reborn".

This is the first half of the month. When I was typing in the second half of the month, I found that I was a bit like writing a war report. In order to regain the feeling of the battlefield, in addition to re-watching some classic movies, I also read several new battlefield memoirs.

I just started reading Rommel's wartime documents, and I only read about 100 pages. Because the outbreak will begin in June, I guess I will have to wait until July to read the rest.

"Snow White Blood Red", "Until Death", and "Purgatory on the Eastern Front" have all been read.

My personal favorite is "Until Death", because it is not the memoir of the soldier himself, but his descendants re-wrote it based on his narration. Obviously, the author's cultural level is higher, so "Until Death" reads more like a novel, with details and character creation.

"White Snow and Red Blood" and "Purgatory on the Eastern Front" are both written by veterans who participated in the war. Purgatory on the Eastern Front is even a collection of veterans' diaries, so it is very chronological, recording everything in detail, and there is almost no character creation.

Another feature of these two books is that the language is very scarce. For example, the format of the writing is always "what we did", "what we encountered", "what we did", all declarative sentences, almost no description.

There are no rhetorical devices such as metaphors in the book, which always seem dry.

In any case, the improvement brought by reading these memoirs is obvious. I found the feeling of the battlefield again.

I don't write by reason, but by emotion, so when I write, I have to have the feeling of being there, and then what I write can make you feel the same.

So you can see that the atmosphere of the battlefield has returned since the 20th of this month. Some of the previous places are like writing a war report.

At this point, some people may say, "Oh, you just copied other people's things and made it sound so mysterious."

Not really, I just need to find the feeling. When the feeling comes, I can write freely and fill in a lot of details with my imagination, as if I have really been on the battlefield.

Copying does not have this effect. If you don't believe it, you can buy these books and see for yourself.

So, although I only updated nearly 230,000 words in May, I have collected a lot of materials, which can effectively guarantee the texture of the story later.

Let's talk about June. In June, I am going to rush to the list. Since I am rushing to the list, I have to offer monthly tickets, right? Because I still owe about 16 alliance leaders for extra chapters, and these extra chapters alone will take eight days.

If I still add one chapter for 1,000 monthly tickets like before, I am afraid I can't finish it until September.

So this time I decided to add one chapter for every 2,000 monthly votes. Our book has about 60,000 monthly votes a month, which means 30 chapters, plus the extra chapters from the leader, a total of about 50 chapters, two chapters a day for 25 days, about a month's worth.

So that's it, I won't recommend my old books this month, anyway, everyone already knows who I am, and those who would read my old books have probably read them.
