Archaeologists at Hogwarts
18 Auditorium
Toby and Al stood in front of two mirrors, one large and one small. They were both dressing themselves up carefully. Witch robes with sun and moon patterns were draped on them. Even Al had a miniature version of the witch robe.
Everything in it is a scaled down version.
After wandering back and forth in front of the small mirror twice, Al took out a pair of shrunken glasses from his belly pocket, hung them on his long nose, and winked at Toby with his small eyes.
"No no no no no."
Toby shook his finger from side to side: "This pair of glasses doesn't suit you. Replace it with the one with half-moon lenses. Yes, yes, that's the pair. I remember the principal wore the same kind of glasses."
Al happily listened to Toby's opinion. After putting on his glasses, he took out a small comb and continued to smooth out the black fluff on his body.
"Oh, come on."
Toby grabbed Al onto his shoulders, and Al held on to the mirror and comb with his paws.
"Stop being so pretty. The students at the dinner party can't get a close look at you, and they don't care if the down on your body is soft enough."
Al grumbled twice in protest, then simply put the mirror on the side of Toby's head and continued to comb the fur slowly.
For this reason, Toby had to bend his neck and couldn't even move his head normally.
Fortunately, when he arrived at the auditorium, Al was finally satisfied and put the mirror and comb away and put them in his belly pocket.
Toby did not participate in the decoration of the auditorium for the back-to-school dinner. To be honest, compared with the Halloween dinner and the Christmas dinner, the back-to-school dinner is really nothing new. It is the same almost every year.
He originally wanted to decorate it with his collections from ruins in various countries, but unfortunately Principal Dumbledore did not agree, thinking that it would scare the new students.
"Then what do they think ancient magic is?"
Toby protested at the time: "Did you think it was as simple as just playing house with Sniff?"
Dumbledore simply pretended not to hear, and Al angrily punched Toby twice, as if he was scratching an itch.
But when he saw the school auditorium again, Toby had to admit that it was the most beautiful and magnificent auditorium he had ever seen.
Thousands of candles floated above the tables in each college, illuminating the auditorium brightly. There were gleaming gold plates and goblets on the four tables, and stars were twinkling on the velvety black ceiling.
It doesn't look like there is a ceiling, but more like it is in the open air. Especially at night when there is a heavy rain, it seems that even lightning will strike in.
All in all, it is much better than Wagado, the magic school in Africa.
Toby stood at the door of the auditorium. Principal Dumbledore appeared beside him at some point and asked him kindly: "How does it feel to return to Hogwarts as a professor?"
"Why don't you tell me first, how did you feel when you returned to Hogwarts?"
"The answer may be beyond your expectation, Toby. What I feel is redemption."
Redemption?
Toby didn't understand, but he had long been accustomed to the principal's riddles, which were always confusing and difficult to understand.
He looked at the transparent ceiling, and Dumbledore didn't urge him to hurry in.
"I feel fear, Principal."
Toby whispered: "I have been to so many ancient ruins, many of which are deadly just by walking, but none of them can compare to Hogwarts. It scares me, and it will inevitably remind me of the past.
The memories, and the thought of Lily, and her baby Harry Potter... maybe I should have come back earlier, so I had a chance to stop this."
Dumbledore looked at him calmly.
"The problem arises here." He said: "There are always people who feel that they did not do well enough in the past, but in fact, we rarely have the opportunity to really do it again. We mistakenly believe that going back to the past can change everything.
, but the truth is, we can’t change anything.”
"It's normal to think this way, Toby, and even I'm not exempt from it."
Toby looked a little helpless: "Use pain to heal pain, principal, this is really your style."
Dumbledore did not refute this, he smiled and gently pushed Toby on the back, and finally pushed him into the hall.
"Stop dwelling on the past, Toby, this moment is the most important."
He also made an appropriate joke: "Also, I hope your fear is not hindered by the fear of hollowing out Hogwarts. Don't really regard the school as a relic for your archeology."
Dumbledore knew it was a joke, and so did Toby.
But too bad, Al doesn't seem to think so.
It took out a small shovel about the same height as itself from its belly pocket, raised it in the air, and waved it twice in a mighty manner.
"Ahem! Put it away quickly! Put it away quickly!"
Toby coughed loudly to cover up. He turned back to look at Principal Dumbledore, whose mouth was twitching. He rolled his eyes and suddenly thought: "Principal, what do you think of Al's glasses? Are they the same pair as yours?"
Very similar? What a coincidence, it is still your admirer——"
At this moment, Snape's dark sneer came, which made Toby immediately change his target, almost thinking that his salvation had arrived.
"Ah! Severus—"
He walked towards Snape enthusiastically, and held his palm forcefully despite Snape's obstruction: "Where will you sit later? Wouldn't it be better for two of our old classmates to sit together?"
"No." Snape said coldly, pulling out his red palm with force.
"Don't say that." Toby waved his arm vigorously: "I know how much you value the back-to-school dinner - eh, did you secretly use the shampoo I gave you? Otherwise, why would your hair look like this?
......clean?"
Snape had involuntarily clenched the wand in his hand, and Toby immediately felt a great threat from him.
"Hey! Quirrell!"
Fortunately, Quirrell happened to come and saved his life. Toby quickly changed his target. Quirrell quickly retreated, but he couldn't move faster than Toby.
His hands were tightly grasped by Toby, shaking them up and down so hard that the turban on his head became a little unstable.
"Although you used to teach Muggle Studies, you are the new professor this year."
Toby said happily: "We should also sit together. The new colleagues should unite to avoid being looked down upon by old people like Severus, don't you think so? Quirrell - oh,"
He suddenly pulled his palm back, slapped it under his nose, and said with a strange expression: "How many times do you have to eat garlic a day? Dinner hasn't started yet."
Quirrell froze while holding the turban. Snape opposite him had silently taken out his wand.
"It's really lively today."
Dean Flitwick stood next to Principal Dumbledore. He happily watched the interaction between the old and new professors, although it seemed to others that they were about to fight.
"Compared to when he was in school, Toby is much more cheerful."
He squeaked: "I'm so happy for him!"
Dumbledore rubbed his eyebrows to relieve the pain in his head.
"I hope you can be this happy in the future, Philius."
