Astral Cockroach

#177 - A cold welcome ceremony

Big Head was always honest and diligent.

How could the two of them have started fighting?

Banbu quickly rushed into the cave and asked, "Big Head, what's going on here?"

"Banbu, help!" Du Zhu shouted, somewhat annoyed, "Let me go! Let me go…"

Big Head said, "Banbu, it's terrible, it ruined the patterns you drew."

Banbu had smoothed the ground and stone walls inside the cave and drawn various body structure diagrams to facilitate his usual practice of deducing cultivation methods.

Scanning the area, he saw that the annotations beside several patterns had been erased and replaced with several small, ugly, and distorted cockroach patterns, which must have been Du Zhu's masterpiece.

Not only that, but the various silk pouches piled up in the cave had also been rummaged through, and a raw stone had been taken out and smashed in half.

This little fellow, is he just itching for trouble?!

Hong Dao is talkative and has a sharp tongue; occasionally, a venomous remark from him can infuriate an insect.

Now, here comes another restless troublemaker.

Banbu had a headache, shook his antennae, and said, "Big Head, let it go."

Big Head shook his antennae, issuing the command, and the four soldier ants released their biting mandibles, and the ant colony dispersed.

Du Zhu was unconvinced and charged towards Big Head.

Big Head waved his antennae, and immediately, the ant colony acted, rushing towards Du Zhu, and the four soldier ants once again pinned him to the ground.

"Banbu, help!" Du Zhu wailed and shouted.

"Big Head is a mid-level warrior, commanding an ant colony of 5,000 worker ants and 300 soldier ants; you'd better not provoke him."

Banbu issued a warning and said, "Big Head, let it go, and go notify King Rat, and have him notify the other members of Li Zhu Peak to come up the mountain to welcome… welcome Du Zhu to join Li Zhu Peak."

"Okay," Big Head shook his antennae, released Du Zhu, and, surrounded by the ant colony, walked down the mountain.

"I forgot, I should have flown up to attack!" Du Zhu was still unconvinced, "I've seen plenty of ants, and he's the weakest ant I've ever seen; I'll definitely be able to beat him next time."

"There won't be a next time!" Banbu warned sternly, "Du Zhu, you are not allowed to cause trouble with the other members on the mountain; otherwise, if you get beaten, you'll deserve it."

"Okay," Du Zhu lowered his antennae.

Banbu pointed to his drawings and asked, "What did you draw?"

Du Zhu pointed to the patterns Banbu had drawn and asked, "Banbu, is this you?"

Then he pointed to the patterns he had drawn and said, "This is me!"

"…" Banbu warned, "Don't scribble everywhere in the future."

Banbu had originally wanted to keep him in the cave to live with him, but now he changed his mind and said, "In a moment, I'll have Big Head help you dig a small cave next to mine; you'll live next to me until you advance to a mid-level warrior."

"The Jinping Mountains are very dangerous; you cannot leave the mountain without my permission, understand?"

"Understood," Du Zhu replied.

All the members of Li Zhu Peak arrived.

Banbu didn't expect that Big Head had a gossipy side; he told everyone about Du Zhu's misdeeds of smashing a raw stone and destroying the drawings in Banbu's cave.

The welcoming ceremony was a bit awkward.

Hong Dao struck a fighting pose, gently waving his antennae, looking at Du Zhu with a provocative look as if to say, 'Come on, let's fight.'

Perhaps Bai Zhu had run back and told King Rat and the others something, as the seven bamboo rat warriors were all lying on the ground listlessly, motionless.

Big Bear sat on the ground, his eyes dull, not knowing what he was thinking, but in any case, he didn't seem to care much.

Only Feng Ling brought a small gift, a few oriental arborvitae seeds harvested from her territory last year.

"Banbu, does this little fellow like bamboo very much?"

"Yes, I plan to arrange for him to live on the mountain temporarily; when he grows up a bit, he can go to the southeast side to live.

He has chosen bamboo as his lifeblood, so he can choose a location and plant it first."

"He and Hong Dao had a little unpleasantness? It's normal for young warriors to have conflicts; it will be better when they grow up.

Banbu, you can arrange for him to come over and live next to me."

Hong Dao lives next to Feng Ling.

If he lives there any longer, wouldn't they be arguing every day?

Banbu shook his antennae and said, "It's better to live separately; for future considerations, it's convenient for comprehensive defense, taking into account all directions of the mountain."

Just as he was speaking, Xiang Pu arrived late, guarded by the bee colony.

Sensing that he was unwelcome, Du Zhu, who had been somewhat dejected, immediately perked up again when he saw Xiang Pu and exclaimed, "Wow, the little bee queen of the Red Ring Acid Bee tribe!"

Exclaiming, he flapped his wings and was about to fly towards Xiang Pu.

Big Head reacted quickly, waved his antennae, and immediately, several soldier ants rushed forward and pinned Du Zhu down.

"Banbu, Big Head is bullying me!"

"Let me go!"

Du Zhu shouted angrily.

Xiang Pu looked confused and asked, "Banbu, is this the new little warrior? What's his name?"

"My name is Du Zhu," Du Zhu shouted.

"My name is Xiang Pu," Xiang Pu said happily, but also somewhat inexplicably.

"Big Head, beat him up and tear off his wing veins," Hong Dao added fuel to the fire at the right time.

"Beat him up!" Bai Zhu shouted excitedly, but King Rat glared back at him, and he closed his mouth in embarrassment.

"Big Head, you can't bully Du Zhu," Feng Ling hurriedly dissuaded him.

"…" Banbu had a headache and asked, "Big Head, what are you doing? Let Du Zhu go."

"Okay," Big Head said, "I was afraid he would hurt Xiang Pu."

"Why would I hurt Xiang Pu?" Du Zhu said aggrievedly.

"Big Head, let him go," Banbu fanned his wing veins and said, "Forget it, that's it, everyone disperse."

"Go!" King Rat waved his paw, leading the six little bamboo rat warriors in a straight line, and they scurried away.

"Big Bear, Feng Ling, let's go!" Hong Dao flapped his wings and landed on Feng Ling's head, urging her to leave quickly.

Xiang Pu was a little confused; she had worked so hard to fly up the mountain, and she had just arrived, but now everyone was dispersing?

"Xiang Pu, don't leave yet," Banbu asked, "How much of the primordial force food you bought last time have you eaten?"

Xiang Pu replied, "I've already eaten one portion, Banbu, but I feel like I'm still far from growing up; what should I do?"

Banbu said, "Then eat another portion; strengthening your physique will be beneficial to your growth."

"Okay," Xiang Pu replied.

Banbu then asked, "Xiang Pu, how many worker bees do you have?"

Xiang Pu replied, "I now have 500 little worker bees; they are better at collecting honey, and with honey food, the bee colony will soon be able to break through 1,000."

"Xiang Pu is really amazing," Banbu praised.

The bee colony currently controlled by Xiang Pu can only be differentiated into two types of worker bees: one is the large worker bee, which is about the same size as her, mainly responsible for combat and guarding the hive's safety, and can collect honey, but the efficiency is very low; the other is a small worker bee that specializes in collecting honey, which is similar to ordinary red ring acid bees in nature, with a body length of only 0.8 centimeters, a fast flight speed, and whose sole job is to collect honey.

When the number of small worker bees reaches 1,000, the bee colony controlled by Xiang Pu can be considered to be on the right track for development.

Before the start of summer, if Xiang Pu evolves once and advances to a L7 primary warrior, Xiang Pu's God-given seed can be planted.

Banbu said, "Xiang Pu, don't rush back, stay here and play with Du Zhu."

"Okay," Xiang Pu happily replied; she didn't have any friends on Li Zhu Peak yet.

After being taught a lesson, Du Zhu became a bit more restrained, realizing that he wasn't very popular with the other members, so he became close to Xiang Pu.

The two little fellows shuttled through Banbu's lifeblood jungle.

Xiang Pu directed the bee colony to collect honey.

Du Zhu foolishly wanted to learn.

Xiang Pu enthusiastically taught him.

Then, when Banbu came back to his senses, all three of the white jade mulberry lifeblood's flower spikes had been ruined…
