#203 - A day in the life of Comrade Kima (Part 1)
In the early morning, Kima awoke from his comfortable bed. He stretched languidly before pushing aside the naked troll girl beside him.
Standing by the window, admiring the bustling scene outside, Kima's eyes were filled with intoxication.
“Welcome your Emperor! You lowly ants!”
Watching the slaves and third-class citizens toiling outside, Kima burst into wild laughter. The shrill sound even woke the sleeping troll girl.
“Ahem… What a beautiful day!”
Kima quickly composed himself, solemnly proclaiming...
Under the troll girl's care, Kima donned the outfit Al had given him—the Ar疣 Robes and some bio-engineered equipment from Salona. Thus, Kima's day began.
At 8:00 AM, Kima first arrived at the newly built employee cafeteria, warmly greeting the Brotherhood members, and then began to enjoy his breakfast.
Breakfast consisted of Hinterlands' unique Silvermane wolf steak with owl beast eggs. Due to Kima's status, the head chef also sent him a cup of steaming milk.
Half a month ago, upon Al's orders, the Brotherhood, except for some peripheral members and low-level apprentices managing the mage tower, had all come to Hinterlands to participate in the construction of Jintha'Alor.
It is worth mentioning that, due to Kima's outstanding contributions in Hinterlands, Al had exceptionally promoted him to High Apprentice and fulfilled his initial promise, handing over the management of 200,000 captives to Kima.
At this moment, Kima had become a veritable Grand Chieftain.
But strangely, he did not act like a chieftain. On the contrary, he mingled with all the Brotherhood members, displaying a humble demeanor, which gradually led the Brotherhood members, who were very dissatisfied with Kima, to accept this double agent and gradually recognize his existence.
At 8:30 AM, after smiling and waving goodbye to the peripheral members, Kima arrived at his first destination for the day: the re-education camp.
With his hands behind his back, Kima quietly arrived in front of a classroom. Hearing the sound of loud reading inside, he left with satisfaction.
Because Jintha'Alor had already been destroyed, Al's first step in rebuilding the city was to tear down all the buildings and prioritize the construction of re-education camps.
Jintha'Alor's unique terraces were well preserved. The simple houses originally built of thatch and stone had also been completely renewed, all transformed into solid, cement-made bare houses.
The only difference was that these houses were divided into four districts, each occupying a terrace.
Kima arrived at the first district, the first level – the high-security zone. The troll captives here were all serious criminals who had participated in the war and committed numerous crimes. This place was also jokingly called the slave district by the Brotherhood members.
As Kima walked into the slave district, his brows furrowed. At this moment, screams and curses echoed in the area, and the ground was covered with uncleaned blood and vomit.
“Overseer? Who is the overseer here? Get out here!”
As Kima's roar rang out, a tall troll with a face full of橫肉 ran out. The overseer trembled at the sight of Kima and knelt before him.
“What’s going on here? Didn’t I say that? Humane management! Do you know what humane means? Have you memorized the management rules into your dog's belly!?”
Pointing at the filth and bloodstains on the ground, Kima said with heartache.
“But… but…”
“But what? Are you not comfortable being a second-class citizen? Do you want to become a third-class citizen again and participate in labor with these serious criminals?”
Hearing Kima's words, the overseer's body visibly trembled. He quickly lowered his head and shut his mouth.
This tall and strong overseer was actually a member of the serious criminals half a month ago. But coincidentally, Kima listened to Al's instructions and prepared to establish a group of typical examples. It just so happened that this overseer's head was smart enough and he knew how to flatter, so he naturally became one of the first typical examples to be established.
In Al's plan, the lowest-level serious criminals only had the right to be ordered around without compensation. The daily rations were only enough to meet the minimum subsistence level. But after being promoted to third-class citizens, this situation would be greatly improved.
First of all, there was the issue of freedom. Third-class citizens had a certain degree of autonomy and holidays, and could have a fairly limited area of free movement in Jintha'Alor.
Then there was the issue of rations. Third-class citizens needed to work to earn wages, and the wages earned could be disposed of by themselves. The organization provided housing and work, and the nature of the work was flexible.
And second-class citizens were amazing. Second-class citizens were Kima's direct subordinates, and they were also the prototype of the first leadership team. Most of the promoted second-class citizens basically became foremen, overseers, and managers who supervised the labor of serious criminals (slaves).
The welfare and treatment of these future team members of Kima were naturally the best (relatively speaking). They received a salary (gold coins) every month, three meals a day, and four days of vacation every month.
Of course, the promotion of second-class citizens also had conditions. It was not like any Tom, Dick, or Harry could become Kima's claws, ahem, subordinates.
First of all, you need to show enough loyalty (at least show it). Secondly, you need to have a flexible enough mind (being good at flattering is a bonus). Finally, and most importantly, you must have strength no less than that of a mid-level fighter.
Seemingly three points, but actually only one, that is, you need to have sufficient strength. After all, Kima was choosing his future team, not some weaklings. Like those who had fought wars or eaten people, as long as they were willing to submit, these were not problems.
Currently, there was only Kima as a first-class citizen. It was not that there were no candidates, but that there could only be one first-class citizen, Kima.
“Get up. Tell me, what happened?”
After scolding him, the triumphant Kima finally remembered what he was supposed to do.
Seeing Kima asking, the overseer finally breathed a sigh of relief, and even his tense body relaxed. You must know that becoming a second-class citizen was not without a price. While enjoying the benefits and rights brought by the status, they also lost their only freedom.
Although compared to obeying the chieftains (high priests) of Kumo and Xie Zhi, this kind of life was already much better. After all, before becoming second-class citizens, they didn't even know what gold coins were. But there was one thing they must never violate, and that was the orders of Kima (Al).
After Al established this system, he considered a factor, the only drawback of governing trolls with trolls, the loyalty of these second-class citizens.
The one thing Al was most unwilling to do, and also the most disdainful of, was to test (test) the loyalty of others, because human nature cannot stand the test.
So, like manipulating Kima, he placed a teleportation beacon in the bodies of these surrendered middle-level trolls.
And gave these teleportation beacons to Kima and Kael'thas. In this way, the loyalty problem of the second-class citizens was solved.
And the teleportation beacons in these trolls' bodies were like Damocles' swords hanging over their heads, forcing them to obey.
Initially, some second-class citizens who didn't believe in evil wanted to collude and resist, but Kima just flicked his fingers, and these trolls all became headless corpses.
Since then, the second-class citizen group has been completely subdued by Kima, becoming the foundation for Al to control all the trolls.
