Azeroth Monster Manual
#95 - The final battle
"How was your sleep last night?"
Anasterian was handling the affairs of state. His desk was piled higher than a small mountain after being away with Aier for the past two days. However, the Sun King seemed completely unfazed, quickly flipping through the documents in his hand, a sight that made the young man click his tongue in amazement.
"Your Majesty, this is the personal notebook of the late King Dath'Remar. I have memorized all the contents within."
Aier respectfully placed the notebook in his hands before Anasterian.
Anasterian merely glanced at the yellowed notebook before returning to his work.
After a long while, Anasterian let out a long sigh. He pointed to the recliner beside him, signaling the young man to sit down and talk.
"Have you come to bid me farewell?"
"Tomorrow is the duel with Antonidas. Before that, there is something I need to take care of."
The young man examined the furnishings in the room, speaking casually.
"What is the meaning of this battle? Is it just to prove that your strength has surpassed that of the most powerful Archmage among humans? Your wisdom often amazes me, but I must say, this step is a misstep."
The Sun King put down the quill in his hand and spoke in a serious tone.
"The composition of the Silver Hand is not based on popular support, I think you should understand."
Aier yawned and sat up straight.
"Their participation is not due to the threat of the trolls, or anything else. The only reason they joined is that the Silver Hand can provide them with sufficient benefits.
And the only reason I can become the leader of the Silver Hand is not because I am the planner and organizer of this alliance. The only reason these kings would make me the leader of the alliance is my identity."
Anasterian listened quietly, and after a moment of thought, he said with doubt.
"Although you don't hold any position or title in Quel'Thalas, only the title of honorary councilor, the fact that you are a Quel'dorei is right here. Are they not afraid that Quel'Thalas will manipulate the direction of the alliance from behind?"
"Quite the contrary, Your Majesty."
The young man smiled slyly and pointed to a bottle of gray powder that had appeared in his hand at some point.
"The seven human kingdoms do have such considerations, but if any human king or high-ranking official were to serve as the leader of the Silver Hand, it would cause sleepless nights for the other kingdoms. The division of the Arathor Empire has left a big question mark in the hearts of each of them, even though it was thousands of years ago. Therefore, only I am the best choice for the leader of the alliance.
As for the battle with Antonidas, I think you should understand that nothing can better demonstrate one's strength than a battle between Archmages. After this battle, my position in the alliance will be further consolidated."
… …
After bidding farewell to the Sun King and the high-ranking officials of Quel'Thalas, the young man stepped onto the portal to the Hinterlands.
After confirming his location, Aier cast a powerful invisibility spell and entered Shadra'Alor, the capital of the Revantusk trolls.
"Hey, why hasn't that little elf kid contacted me yet? Although I've been eating well and sleeping soundly recently, ol' Keema isn't here to sightsee. Look at these strong arms of mine, they're starting to get flabby."
The troll Keema, his face flushed, or rather, his face full of green light, was lying sideways on a stone platform covered with animal skins. He was picking up a bunch of grapes from a small table next to him, eating them with relish, while complaining about something.
Just as Keema was enjoying a rare afternoon break, an eerie voice entered his ears.
"You're living quite well, aren't you? Have you forgotten everything I told you to do…"
Forgetting the grapes that had fallen from his hand, Keema jumped up in a jolt.
"Who… Who's there."
The young man didn't tease this timid person any further. He sat on the stone stool next to the small table and unceremoniously picked up the remaining grapes on the table, savoring them one by one.
After seeing who it was, the troll was stunned in place, then became ingratiating. He bent his slender waist and said with a flattering expression.
"Ah, it's Lord Aier, your humble servant Keema… …"
"Enough with that, get to the point."
Aier kicked the troll in his pale green face. Keema was not angry, but instead breathed a long sigh of relief. Ignoring the footprints on his face, he knelt on the ground and continued without changing his expression:
"Recently, in the Revantusk tribe… …"
Aier listened carefully to Keema's narration, gaining a general understanding of some of the major events that had occurred in the Revantusk and Witherbark tribes in the past half month.
"The secret path next to the Zul'Mashar Altar has been blocked by the Revantusk trolls?"
"That's right, Lord Aier. I didn't expect these idiots to actually find that path. If… …"
Keema said with some annoyance. At that time, he just made up a lie to save his own life. He didn't expect that the secret path was really found by the Revantusk Warlord.
"What's the situation at the Zul'Mashar Altar?"
"The frequency of friction between the Revantusk tribe and the Witherbark trolls at the Zul'Mashar Altar has become more frequent recently, but both sides are very restrained and there is not much action."
Keema quietly sized up the young man's increasingly ugly face, and couldn't help but shudder.
"Have the Witherbark trolls scouted the slime at the Hidden Stone?"
"Yes! Yes! Hex has sent people to the Hidden Stone half a month ago, and I have also given the recipe for the potent coagulant to that vicious woman according to your request. If there are no mistakes, the Witherbark trolls should already have a lot of finished coagulant in their hands."
The troll wiped the cold sweat from his head, as if afraid that Aier would make things difficult for him, and hurriedly said the answer the young man wanted.
Hearing this, Aier's face looked much better, but he still said with some dissatisfaction:
"Too slow, I gave you half a month, but you can't even do this little thing well!"
Little master, there is more to this chapter behind ^ . ^ ,
"I… I'm sorry, Lord Aier, that damned High Priest is really stubbornly terrifying, I every day… …"
"Enough, you waste, I'm tired of your excuses."
The young man stood up and angrily interrupted Keema's words. He chanted a spell, and after a while, a faint purple soundproof barrier appeared in the tent.
"Ah! Lord Aier! Spare… Spare my life… Spare"
"Bang"
The young man didn't have the slightest pity. Without seeing him move, the troll's left arm swelled up like a balloon. With the appearance of a miniature portal, Keema's strong arm disappeared instantly.
Keema let out a scream and collapsed to the ground. He struggled to raise his other hand to cover the broken wound.
The smooth, mirror-like wound revealed neat bones and bright red muscle tissue. Strangely, the blood that should have gushed out like a spring was nowhere to be seen.
"Hmph, if it weren't for the fact that you still have some use, I would detonate all the teleportation beacons on your body."
Aier said coldly. At this time, he had lost his usual gentleness and laziness. The young man knew that to deal with a two-faced turncoat like Keema, only being more ruthless than him could completely subdue him.
"Thank you… Lord Aier…"
Keema knelt on both knees, lowered his head, and said tremblingly.
"This evening, I will help you kill that damned Revantusk High Priest"
"Your will… Lord Aier."
ps: I have a bad cold and overestimated my body a bit. I slept until 6:30 in the evening before getting up, but I will still add more updates. It may be very late. I will release this chapter first, and the author will try to code the rest. I will code as much as I can.
