#78 - AXM Programming Contest? (Please add it to your collection and recommend it)

The three of them chatted late into the night before going to sleep, sharing all the interesting things that had happened to them during the semester.

From deep night until dawn, time was like a mischievous elf, impossible to grasp or touch.

By the time you noticed, it had already quietly slipped away.

The three of them slept on one bed. Fortunately, Fang Yuan's bed was large enough; otherwise, the image of three grown men squeezed together would have been too much to imagine.

When the sun was high in the sky, Fang Yuan finally opened his eyes and saw his two good friends lying beside him, filling him with contentment.

This was a friendship they had cultivated over many years, and it would only deepen in the days to come, rather than becoming estranged by the erosion of time.

Looking at the smiles on their faces in their sleep, Fang Yuan shook his head with a smile.

He tiptoed to the table, picked up his phone, and ordered takeout.

He had originally wanted to cook, but after thinking about it, he decided not to harm these two "fools."

Whether it was the sound of Fang Yuan getting up or something else, Zhou Shengde and Xu Qiang gradually woke up while Fang Yuan was ordering takeout.

After a quick wash, the breakfast Fang Yuan had ordered arrived.

Oh no! It couldn't be called breakfast anymore; it was already close to 11 o'clock, so it should be called lunch.

The three of them, just getting up, didn't eat much before feeling like their stomachs were already full.

After cleaning up the table, the three of them prepared to go out, as they had other things to do today.

It turned out that after hearing that Fang Yuan had returned, several close friends from high school had arranged to have a meal together.

Before the meal, according to past practice, a five-man session at the internet cafe was in order.

The remaining few people were already waiting for them at the internet cafe.

Fang Yuan hadn't played games much this semester!

In the beginning, he was a bit rusty, not as skilled as before.

After familiarizing himself with one game, the Fang Yuan who used to dominate the arena was back.

He didn't notice that his reactions had become faster and faster recently.

Especially in the game, the operations that he could barely complete before, he could now complete easily.

He just thought that he was still as sharp as ever, still the man who could carry the whole team.

The five-man session continued until about 4 p.m., then they rushed to the restaurant to meet up with their classmates.

Not too many classmates came this time, after all, some places had already started school.

There were also some classmates who didn't want to come at all.

A total of a dozen people, just enough to fill a large table.

When Fang Yuan was in Kyoto, he missed the delicacies of Beihai, and today he could finally feast to his heart's content.

They had a delicious meal, without the expected urging to drink or the noise!

Every classmate was telling their good friends about the advantages and disadvantages of university life.

Compared to the simple high school life, university life already had the initial attributes of "society."

Although they still had some naive qualities.

But after a semester of training, the childishness in them had faded somewhat.

After eating and drinking to their hearts' content, the group split up and left.

Fang Yuan's group had six or seven people, and their next destination was the billiards hall.

This was also one of their most frequented places. They opened three tables, and several people found their opponents and happily played.

It was 10 p.m. when the group reluctantly parted.

Fang Yuan would be flying to Kyoto early tomorrow morning, and they didn't know when they would meet again.

"Ah, right, Qiangzi, why don't you come with me?" Fang Yuan grabbed Xu Qiang, who was about to leave, and said to him.

"Um… I think I'll pass! Anyway, there are still a few days before school starts, so I'll stay here and keep Shengde company! He'll be bored if I leave!" After thinking for a moment, Xu Qiang declined Fang Yuan's suggestion.

"Okay! Then let's meet up again when school starts?"

"Yeah, let's meet up again when school starts!"

"Oh, right, Shengde and I might not be able to see you off tomorrow. We've made an appointment with an instructor and we're going to practice for the Level 3 driving test tomorrow!" Xu Qiang suddenly thought of something and said to Fang Yuan.

"It's okay! I'm not a child anymore, do I need you to see me off?" Fang Yuan replied with a look of disdain.

"That's good, that's good!" After saying that, Xu Qiang left!

The car that Fang Yuan called arrived quickly. This time he came to Beihai, he felt how convenient it was to have a car.

Fortunately, he had a car in Kyoto, otherwise it would be so troublesome every time he went out, that he wouldn't want to go out at all in the future.

Early the next morning, Fang Yuan hurriedly boarded the plane.

Professor Li had called him again last night, saying that he had something important to ask for his help with.

Listening to his tone, it seemed quite urgent, and Fang Yuan naturally wouldn't refuse Professor Li's request.

After getting off the plane, he didn't even have time to eat lunch, and rushed to Kyoto University as quickly as possible.

Inside Professor Li's office.

Fang Yuan, dragging his suitcase, was sitting on the sofa.

Professor Li opposite him seemed to be thinking about how to tell Fang Yuan about this matter.

This scene had been going on for more than a minute.

Fang Yuan looked at Professor Li somewhat awkwardly, wondering what he had called him here for.

"Fang Yuan! I have something I want to ask for your help with!" Professor Li said somewhat embarrassedly.

"Feel free to tell me anything you need!" Fang Yuan said readily.

"It's like this!" Professor Li raised his head, glanced at Fang Yuan, and continued.

"Have you heard of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest?" Professor Li asked.

"I've heard of it. Anyone majoring in computer science should know about this competition!" Fang Yuan replied.

"It's good that you've heard of it! It's like this, one of the members of our school's team participating in the ACM competition went out to play during the Spring Festival and had an accident, breaking his leg and several ribs. He's currently recuperating in the hospital! He might not make it to the finals of this competition!"

Hearing Professor Li say this, Fang Yuan immediately understood everything.

"You're planning to have me replace him in the competition?" Fang Yuan said.

"Not replace him, but participate in this competition as a substitute." Professor Li corrected.

"Substitute?" Fang Yuan was a little puzzled.

"Yes, although it's said to be a substitute, it's no different from a normal member!"

Fang Yuan thought for a while and said.

"I remember that the ACM programming competition requires students to be sophomores or above to register, right?" Fang Yuan felt instinctively resistant to the identity of a substitute.

"They don't have a rigid requirement. That requirement is only in our region!"

"With your current strength, it's probably difficult to find an opponent among undergraduates."

"Even among graduate students, there are few who can compare to you!" Professor Li praised.

"After the team leader explained the situation to me, the first person I thought of was you."

Hearing Professor Li say this, Fang Yuan had no reason to refuse.

"Okay, Professor, I'll take on this task."

Seeing Fang Yuan agree, Professor Li beamed with joy.

"Oh, right! Starting tomorrow, you'll come to classroom 211 in this building and undergo pre-competition training with the team members." Professor Li added.

"There's pre-competition training too?" This was the first time Fang Yuan had participated in such a competition, and he didn't know that there was such a thing as pre-competition training.

"Of course. Although with your skills, it doesn't matter whether you participate in pre-competition training or not, this competition is a team competition, and the most important thing for you there is to develop a tacit understanding with the other teammates as soon as possible." Professor Li instructed worriedly.

"Okay!" Fang Yuan regretted agreeing to this matter.

Just then, the system, which had been silent for a long time, sent out a familiar prompt.

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for triggering the mission, 'Winning Glory for the School'.

Obtain at least a second-place prize in the ACM programming competition. The rewards will be doubled for each higher award level.

Basic reward: Points: 500. The rewards will be doubled for each higher award level."

Fang Yuan still knew something about the ACM competition. Above the second prize, there was still the first prize and the first place.

If he won the first place in the competition, he could get 1500 points. He had never received so many points before!

For the sake of points, he had to get first place in this programming competition.

If nothing else, he had to get first prize.
