Blood Sacrifice To Millions Of Zombies, I Will Be A Demon Cultivator In The Apocalypse
Chapter 1: Cultivation Of Immortality And Doomsday Double Penetration
Chapter 1: The End of Cultivation in the Doomsday World
A blood moon hung in the sky.
The air was filled with a decaying smell.
The sky was always hazy, and the entire world was shrouded in an apocalyptic atmosphere, exuding a sense of desperate struggle on the brink of death.
As a library of knowledge, it should have been neat and bright, filled with the fragrance of books.
But now, it seemed like a forgotten corner.
Zheng Yi stood in the library, looking at the dusty building and scattered piles of books, occasionally mixed with decaying bones, everything appeared so dilapidated and chaotic.
Books scattered on the ground, tables and chairs in disarray, and the remnants of dark red bloodstains in the corners, all indicated that something terrible had happened in this library.
"Is this the scene of the apocalypse?"
"Living here, facing uncertainty every day, at risk of being devoured by zombies at any moment, and turning into that kind of decaying thing, it's even more desperate than the lower levels of the Immortal Cultivation World..."
In this somewhat eerie library, Zheng Yi looked solemn, his brows slightly furrowed.
His steps were light, and his figure swiftly shuttled between the bookshelves, scanning the surroundings with his gaze, releasing his divine sense as if searching for something.
"Found it?"
Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, raised his eyebrows, and a glint of insight flashed in his eyes.
"Seems to be a diary of a survivor?"
With a sweep of his sleeve, Zheng Yi was inexplicably handed the thick, blood-stained diary by an unknown force, and it flew into his hands.
Soul-searching allowed him to obtain fragments of scattered memories, including the language and writing of this world.
Standing directly there, Zheng Yi opened the notebook and as he flipped through it, his expression became increasingly solemn, muttering to himself.
"No wonder this entire city is like a ghost domain, reduced to ruins. I never expected that a zombie virus outbreak occurred in this world."
Having previously perused the books in the library, he learned that his current location was an area called the Western Union, which had thrived for over four thousand years, developing into a region with advanced technology and culture.
Now, with this survivor's handwritten diary in hand, combined with the information he had obtained earlier, he immediately reconstructed the general situation.
On December 5th, 4085 in the Union's history, a blood moon appeared in the sky without warning.
Following that, humans and animals in various regions began to exhibit different degrees of mutation, and then, a terrifying virus that swept across the entire world erupted.
Under the blood moon's illumination, countless humans, animals, and even pets mutated, combined with the zombie virus, causing the rapid decay of the entire world.
At the beginning, the Western Union, relying on its strong control over the past few thousand years, quickly mobilized a large number of troops to seal off the areas where the virus broke out using force.
Initially, the Union managed to suppress the virus, seemingly having everything under control.
However, with the outbreak of the blood moon in the sky, around forty days after the virus erupted on January 13th, 4086, the virus evolved into the first red-eyed zombie.
This was a type of monster with contamination far exceeding that of other zombies, with a significant increase in both strength and speed. Most terrifyingly, they had developed a certain level of low intelligence.
The appearance of the red-eyed zombie caused the situation, which had been suppressed, to quickly collapse.
Under the leadership of the red-eyed zombie, the contaminated and zombie hordes quickly broke through the military's blockade, leading to the complete spread of the virus.
On February 9th, the first recorded zombie frenzy erupted.
Under the influence of the blood moon, vengeful spirits, ghosts, and mutated monsters successively appeared in various corners of the world.
Millions of zombies, led by tens of thousands of red-eyed zombies and even more terrifying evolved mutant zombies, quickly overran almost all the land.
Major cities fell one after another, and finally, even the last stronghold of the Union was breached, leading to the collapse of the Western Union.
According to the scribbled notes at the end of this diary, with the Union's demise, scattered military forces and other factions established independent gathering places in various regions, each fighting for survival to prevent the last ember of humanity from being extinguished in the frenzy of the zombie virus.
"This world is so bizarre. If it were just a zombie virus, how could there be vengeful spirits and ghosts?"
"The real problem lies in the blood moon in the sky. No wonder when I first arrived and saw the blood-colored moon in the sky, I felt a sense of panic..."
"The situation doesn't seem too good!"
After finishing the last page, Zheng Yi saw that the subsequent notes were scribbled and filled with a lot of incomprehensible ramblings, indicating the despair and panic of the recorder at the time.
He looked up and, through the hazy windows, saw the blood moon illuminating the earth, casting a strange red light.
His spiritual power seemed to be suppressed, making Zheng Yi's expression unsightly.
This library must have had some protection at the beginning. However, it had now become almost a ruin, with the heavy dust proving that it had been abandoned for a long time. Undoubtedly, it was also a sacrifice to the zombie frenzy under the blood moon.
"Run, the zombies are coming."
"Damn it, how did these zombies hide behind the boxes? They couldn't be seen from the outside."
"Don't waste time, look, there's a library ahead, hurry in and find a way to deal with these monsters inside."
Suddenly, a commotion came from outside.
Accompanied by a chaotic sound of footsteps, two figures burst through the door, stumbling into the library, followed closely by five or six ferocious zombies.
The intruders were a middle-aged man and a young man, both with a look of panic, trying to maintain composure.
The middle-aged man carried a large knife, with black blood dripping down from it.
Following them was a young man who appeared to be seventeen or eighteen, holding a spear with a wooden shaft, its tip already stained with dark red.
The only characteristic they shared was their apparent malnutrition and frail appearance.
As they barged into the library, they saw Zheng Yi standing there and immediately shouted in a panic.
Behind them, the zombies were desperately chasing, and these survivors directly blocked their path.
Zheng Yi looked at the father and son who had burst in, but a long-lost smile appeared on his face. It had been almost half a day since he arrived in this ghostly place.
Apart from the initial encounter with two fools who pointed toy guns at him and from whom he obtained the language and writing of this world through soul-searching, this was the first time he had encountered living people again. Encountering survivors in such a place was not an easy feat for him.
However, his expression, seen by the father and son, made them think he was just another fool scared by the zombies, and they quickly reprimanded him.
"Get out of the way, kid."
"If you want to die, go die somewhere else. Don't block our escape route."
"Just run, run..."
As the young man was about to raise the spear in his hand, standing two meters away from each other, Zheng Yi's finger pinched a tactic, and a cold light flew out, beheading the zombies following closely behind.
Then, the cold light drew a circle and returned to his hand.
"Oh, my goodness."
"Is this a special ability?!"
"We actually encountered a supernatural being here..."
The leader of the middle-aged man, seeing the terrifying scene before him, was dumbfounded, his eyes almost popping out.
The terrifying zombies that had frightened him were easily beheaded by the mysterious short sword released by the young man before him, and the displayed ability truly frightened him. If that cold light had slashed across his neck, the result would probably have been the same as the zombies.
"Thud!"
The father knelt directly on the ground, pulling his son down as well, bowing his head and fearfully saying, "Sir, we really didn't mean to offend you."
"We didn't know you were a distinguished supernatural being, nor did we know that this was your territory. Otherwise, we would never have rashly barged in here."
"Please forgive us."
In this chaotic world, all morality and dignity had long been thrown out the window. Survival was the most important thing, and human life was the most inexpensive thing. If they encountered those capricious big shots, they would find it difficult to leave this library today.
"Get up."
Zheng Yi unexpectedly watched the scene before him, and after a moment, he said calmly, "I'll ask you some questions. If the answers satisfy me, I'll let you leave."
The middle-aged man's face showed a hint of joy upon hearing this, and he quickly stood up with the support of the young man beside him. After all, having experienced the ups and downs, he still had some basic psychological resilience after surviving in this apocalyptic zombie ruin for so long.
The middle-aged man quickly calmed down and, at Zheng Yi's inquiry, opened up and began to speak.
Zheng Yi didn't care about the background of this father and son, nor did he have the ability to be a savior or have a burst of saintly generosity. For him, the only thing of interest was the supernatural being mentioned by the middle-aged man.
"It sounds like the Transcendent power of this world..."
It turned out that while zombies were mutating, some scientists accidentally discovered a peculiar energy within the zombies' bodies called the corpse nucleus. This energy contained a unique power that humans could awaken by absorbing it, as long as they could endure it.
This power included super strength, incredible speed, invulnerability, control over zombies, manipulation of mutated beasts, and even the ability to manipulate elements such as water, fire, and metal.
The display of Zheng Yi's swordsmanship earlier led the middle-aged man to mistakenly believe that he was a supernatural being capable of manipulating metal...
As for the evolution of supernatural beings, they had to absorb the corpse nucleus of zombies. There was also a profession called the Ghost Master, which was a powerful mental profession.
Several years after the appearance of zombies, vengeful spirits and evil ghosts began to emerge in various places, posing a more terrifying threat than ordinary zombies, killing people invisibly.
It was with the help of these two professions, supernatural beings and Ghost Masters, that the surviving humans preserved the spark of civilization. They managed to form isolated gathering places, successfully resisting the onslaught of the zombie frenzy, becoming the main force against the end of the world, and this was the most important reason why humanity had managed to survive until now.
After questioning them, Zheng Yi let the two men go as promised.
Subsequently, he dissected the brains of the zombies he had killed with his flying sword and actually found a thumb-sized gray crystal in one of them.
"There is indeed a strange energy inside."
Feeling the crystal in his hand, Zheng Yi was somewhat surprised.
This was a type of energy he had never felt before, different from all the energies he had encountered previously.
"It's not Fiend Qi, nor is it spiritual power. It's more like a life source energy..."
After pondering for a while, Zheng Yi turned and walked into the depths of the library. A white light flashed, and his figure disappeared with it.
Dayi Immortal Realm.
This was a world of cultivation, where immensely powerful immortals could traverse the void, tread the boundless, and overturn the rivers and seas with a single hand.
And Zheng Yi was just a small Independent Cultivator in this realm, at the bottom of society, without parents or anyone to care for him.
"I thought that fate had abandoned me, but I never expected that it had prepared such a big surprise for me."
Returning to the Immortal Domain, standing in his own house, Zheng Yi suddenly burst into laughter, his voice filled with joy.
It's no wonder he was so excited. He had transmigrated from the Blue Star to the Dayi Immortal Realm, where he had no foothold in any of the four realms, and was just a negligible Independent Cultivator with poor aptitude.
Completely hopeless in achieving the Great Dao!
The real tragedy was when heaven gave you hope, only to destroy it with its own hands.
This was Zheng Yi's previous mindset.
However, what he didn't expect was that heaven had secretly prepared a "big gift" for him.
The reason why Zheng Yi was so eager to return was that he had seen an opportunity!
If he could make good use of it, it might be his chance to step onto the path of the Great Dao.
The Great Dao was within reach!
In the Dayi Immortal Realm, there was not only the righteous path, but also the Demon Dao that opposed it. Both sides were evenly matched in strength, and neither could overpower the other.
Compared to the slow cultivation of the righteous path, the Demon Dao cultivation could progress rapidly, but the means used were unscrupulous.
For example, it required human souls and bodies, blood sacrifices of the living, and even some that involved sacrificing entire villages.
Not only would the righteous path not let them off, but they could also be attacked by heavenly retribution at any time.
Zheng Yi was only a cultivator with mixed spiritual roots, and with his current cultivation alone, he had no chance of achieving the Great Dao.
But what if he could cultivate Demon Dao techniques using vengeful spirits and zombies in the Doomsday World?
This idea made him quite excited. If he could really make the switch, then in Zheng Yi's eyes, the Doomsday World would be a veritable treasure trove for cultivation.
"This is my only chance."
In the end, Zheng Yi made up his mind and decided to go all the way!
