Bringing the MC system to Middle-earth

Chapter 47: Bree's Encounter

Snow.

This thing can only be seen in the high places of the Misty Mountains or the snowfields in the far north. Other places can only wait until winter.

However, snow has never shown any particularly good use, so Levi didn't pay much attention to it.

However, although snow is useless, the ice that often appears with it is much more useful.

Ice, or the blue ice that will not melt when synthesized with ice, is a must for building high-speed passages.

In the first winter in this world, Levi decided to stock up on some materials.

On this day, Levi, who had returned from a long journey, cleared the snow at the gate of the city and invited Gandalf to have a meal.

Then, the old man immediately set off in a hurry, without staying.

"Thank you for your invitation, but if you don't leave now, you will be too late. I don't want to be called a liar by the children."

"Well, I hope you have a happy New Year."

Send Gandalf away.

The first thing Levi did was to clear the areas where he often moved in the territory. The thick layers of snow, although beautiful, really hindered his activities.

This clearing was a box of snow.

After not coming back for a few months, the animals are still the same. Although they are exposed to the heavy snow, they are not abnormal and are very resistant to cold.

As for the original animals at the beginning, cows, sheep, horses, etc. - they are now lying in a shed with a lid and a heater. They have enough food and water, and they live a comfortable life.

But in comparison, the farm looks a bit embarrassed.

The weather turned cold, and the water sources in the farm froze. The water turned into ice, causing the nearby arable land to dry up, and the crops on it turned directly into seeds and fell to the ground.

After placing a few pieces of fluorescent stone at the bottom of the water to provide heat source and prevent freezing, Levi planted the land again.

"It's just a heavy snow, it can't overwhelm my resistant crops."

After simply dealing with the things affected by the heavy snow in the territory, it was night.

Looking at the dark sky, Levi suddenly remembered what Gandalf said.

So on this day, Levi rarely went back to the room to sleep.

"Ha--comfortable."

After waking up, Levi felt refreshed. Unlike the energetic he usually felt, this feeling was like his entire state was refreshed.

It was fundamentally different from the energy he had when he was full.

"Let's get to work!"

Walking into the warehouse and taking out a pile of materials, Levi planned a large area and built an ice field.

It takes nine ordinary ice to synthesize one floating ice that will not melt, and nine floating ice to synthesize the blue ice needed to build a high-speed ice road.

The amount of ice needed to build a road can be said to be quite large.

This is a long-term collection project.

Levi took out the pickaxe enchanted with precise collection and experience repair, and began to chisel ice day and night.

Of course, after each collection, it always takes some time for the water to condense into ice again. During this time, Levi will not wait at the ice field.

Instead, he took advantage of this gap to do territory construction work.

After shoveling snow once, Levi really didn't want to shovel it a second time, but the weather was out of his control. Once it snowed again, the territory would be covered in white again.

Fortunately, there are always ways to deal with this situation, such as inserting torches and placing glowstones.

These heat-generating blocks can automatically melt the falling snow, so that the trouble of cleaning can be avoided.

So on some frequently traveled roads and the main roads of the territory, Levi built one beautiful and warm street lamp after another on the roadside with glowstones or torches.

With street lamps, there must be roads, so Levi picked up materials and built roads along the track of street lamps.

But roads and street lamps alone are not enough, they seem too monotonous, so there are more decorations on both sides of the road, including artificial landscape trees, small flower beds, steps and benches, fences and small ponds, as well as some fine rivers and small wooden bridges.

As he built, Levi couldn't help but think of the scenery and architectural style of the valley, and unconsciously integrated into it.

While the style of the roadside castle was constantly changing.

On the other side, Gandalf had just finished a grand fireworks party in the Shire and was surrounded by a group of cheering children. His peaceful face was so smiling that his eyes were almost invisible.

"Oh--Okay, good children, the last one, only the last one~"

Boom!

The fireworks exploded in the air, the earth was bright for a moment, and the hobbits in the whole village exclaimed.

It was an extremely pleasant night. Gandalf happily set off fireworks to his heart's content. The children were also excited to recall the fireworks all night and lay in bed unable to sleep.

Maybe in a dream, the fireworks will bloom again.

"Gandalf, will you come again next year?"

The next morning, the children surrounded Gandalf who was about to leave and asked.

"This, this is not necessarily, but I promise that this is not the last time I come. Oh, I think I should leave. Goodbye, children!"

Gandalf waved and left.

"I have a hunch that it's better to go this way."

Gandalf embarked on his journey again, not knowing where to go.

People returned to their own paths and lived their lives as usual.

Nothing happened.

The days passed by unnoticed.

Lightning flashed.

Boom.

A heavy rain heralded the arrival of spring.

March 15, 2941 of the Third Age.

Bree.

In the Prancing Pony Inn, Gandalf turned his head suddenly and saw a dwarf who looked a little down and out but had an extraordinary temperament.

This face looked familiar...

Thorin, son of Thrain?

The moment he saw this dwarf, Gandalf suddenly remembered the dwarf prisoner he met in Dol Guldur nearly a hundred years ago who was tortured beyond recognition and even had incomplete memories.

The dwarf handed him a key and a map, and asked him to give them to his son.

But all along, Gandalf didn't know who the dwarf prisoner was, let alone who his son was.

However, the moment he saw Thorin, everything suddenly became clear.

The dwarf who gave him the key and the map was Thrain II, the King of the Dwarves of Durin!

And the dwarf in front of him was Thorin Oakenshield, who inherited this title.

In an instant, Gandalf thought a lot.

At this moment, the impoverished dwarf heir was concentrating on dealing with the food on the plate, but in this noisy inn, several malicious eyes were focused on him.

Two ruffians who had been waiting for a long time slowly stood up and surrounded him from both sides.

They were spies bribed by the enemy outside.

Thorin slowly put down the food in his hand, and one hand was already on the hilt of the sword.

"Mind if I sit at the same table with you?"

A voice that made people feel inexplicably reassured suddenly came, interrupting the tense atmosphere here.

Thorin looked up and saw an old man in a gray robe sitting opposite him.

Seeing that the situation was developing in an unknown direction, the two rogues looked at each other and chose to retreat and wait and see.

"Let me introduce myself. I am Gandalf, Gandalf the Grey."

"I know you."

Obviously, Thorin had heard of this strange old man.

"Oh, that's great, what a coincidence today - by the way, what is Thorin Oakenshield visiting Bree for?"

"I heard that someone saw my father wandering in the wilderness near Dunland, I went to look for him, but found nothing."

"Thrain..."

Gandalf sighed.

The movement of fate sounded again.
