Change the world from Hogwarts

Chapter 97: There Are No Werewolves in School

Fudge's voice sounded hoarse, and he seemed really anxious.

"I really didn't sleep well yesterday. When Umbridge informed me of this, I jumped out of bed and my mind was filled with this kind of thing."

But Dumbledore would not be dragged into the ditch with his impatience. He just helped himself out and quietly watched Fudge's performance.

He even expressed some of his own opinions:

"If you really can't sleep, we have a top potion master here, and I can ask him to help brew some Dreamless Sleeping Potion."

The old principal said calmly and looked caring.

"The effect is very good. You only need a small cup, or add it to your favorite drink, and you can have a good sleep."

"this……"

Fudge, on the other hand, was suddenly in a daze.

After being interrupted by Dumbledore, he suddenly didn't know what to say.

Just looking straight at him, he happened to meet Dumbledore's kind eyes.

This was obviously a generous centenarian, but with the title of 'the most powerful wizard in the world', Fudge felt that all the plans in his heart had been seen through.

He couldn't help but hold on to his hat, and his body trembled.

"This...there's no need for this."

Fudge said with an embarrassed smile.

“Although Dreamless Sleeping Potion is expensive, I can still afford it.”

"Ouch... like this."

And Dumbledore also looked like he suddenly understood.

"I thought the Ministry of Magic's life was very difficult. The Minister couldn't even afford potions. It seems that the Ministry of Magic has recovered from the disaster."

"Ah yes, yes."

Dumbledore's words sounded normal, but Fudge took out a towel and began to wipe the inexplicable sweat on his forehead.

The two sides looked at each other and started laughing in unison.

"Anyway, from the look of you Albus, there must be no big problems in the school, right?"

"Of course, in fact, it was just some ordinary riots before. Connelly, you also studied in Hogwarts. You should know that the forest has always hidden secrets colored by time and history."

"Ah, yes, yes, there really is everything in that forest."

Fudge said with a smile.

He held on to his bowler hat, looking as if he was really missing something.

But before long, he finally returned to the original topic.

"Anyway, I don't want to say anything else. Albus, things about Hogwarts seem to have spread overnight."

Just as Fudge said that, an owl suddenly flew towards the open window of the principal's office. Under the gaze of the Minister of Magic and the old principal, it confidently dropped a newspaper and walked away.

"Well, it looks like today's newspaper has been delivered."

After taking a look at Fudge's look of relief, Dumbledore slowly moved his eyes to the newspaper on his desk.

Daily Prophet, and the title at the beginning is a striking word: Werewolf.

The full title is:

Werewolves appear in Hogwarts?! Is the school home to the most powerful wizard really as safe as we think?

You don’t even have to look at this eye-catching title to know that it was written by one of their Hogwarts graduates: Rita Skeeter.

"Well...it seems like the news spreads pretty fast, doesn't it?"

Dumbledore's voice still showed that kind of relaxation and joy, but Fudge felt that he could not be deceived by this appearance.

And soon, Dumbledore's casual words made his heart rise to his throat.

"It's interesting, isn't it? Even something that happened just last night appeared in the newspapers with added detail this morning. It seems that the entire magical world is changing with each passing day."

Fudge felt that this should never be taken as a compliment. He even vaguely felt some pressure and his heart was beating hard.

He didn't speak, just waited quietly for Dumbledore to finish.

And sure enough, the old principal calmly asked his question:

"Connelly, what do you think of this?"

He didn't even offer any inductive words, he seemed to be simply asking something.

"I……"

Fudge knew it was time to make his own decision.

Dumbledore has actually already expressed his stance, we are just waiting for him to make a decision!

"I think there are a lot of hidden secrets in this."

After hesitating for a moment, the Minister of Magic whispered.

"The news spread too fast. When I came back to my senses, the Daily Prophet had already responded. They also received similar anonymous reports. I felt like there was a hand behind it.

It's all the same."

Looking at Dumbledore tentatively, Fudge said this.

"So, I want to know what happened last night."

"Yesterday was just an ordinary riot in the Forbidden Forest."

"The werewolf thing..."

"Werewolf riots are real, they even injured our school custodian."

Dumbledore said.

"However, they did not leave the Forbidden Forest, and in the end the horsemen suppressed them."

"However, it seems that last night was not a full moon night, so the werewolf should not have lost his mind."

Fudge asked tentatively.

"Is this because of those werewolves..."

"No, Connelly, I can use my reputation to guarantee that the werewolves in the Forbidden Forest are absolutely not malicious. They have lived in the Forbidden Forest for thousands of years and have been living with the centaurs."

"So what happened?"

"In fact, I have hired experts to investigate this."

Facing Fudge's doubtful gaze, Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Whether it's an expert on magical animals or an expert on lycanthropy, I happen to have a good relationship with them."

"That's it..."

Fudge couldn't help but wipe the sweat from his forehead.

When Dumbledore talked about his friends, the first thing that came to Fudge's mind were actually those older contestants who also had gray beards and were over a hundred or even almost two hundred years old.

Those people had eaten more salt than he had eaten noodles, so Fudge certainly wasn't asking for trouble.

"So, about the werewolf invasion of Hogwarts..."

"There is nothing."

Dumbledore denied this directly, which made Fudge feel a little embarrassed.

And Dumbledore would not let him suffer.

"Of course I won't let you go back in despair, Connelly. You can investigate the situation inside the school. This can prove that what we said is true and that some of the slander against Hogwarts is completely groundless."

"The werewolves in the Forbidden Forest..."

"I must warn you, Connelly, even I am not willing to go deep into the dark forest of Hogwarts, and even Tom has never gone deep into that place... Are you sure you want to go into that kind of place?"
