Change the world from Hogwarts

Chapter Eight: Arriving at School

Seeing the always gentle Neville showing such sad expression, Connor wisely did not continue to ask further questions.

As for Hannah and Ernie, the two young wizards began to change the topic after realizing that the atmosphere was not right, and they used a series of topics including Quidditch. They spent a relatively pleasant lunch and snack time, and by the way...

Shared the bubble gum purchased by Neville.

To be honest, the taste of bubble gum is just average. The only interesting thing is the color of the bubbles blown out - that is the color of lily of the valley.

They just float in the compartment of the carriage, just like the dreamy wonderland described in fairy tales.

"I'm a little sleepy."

Witnessing such a scene, Neville suddenly spoke.

"Then let's take a good rest. We can keep the noise down here."

"No, you don't have to worry about me. I'm just taking a short break."

Despite what he said, Neville quickly fell asleep. He hugged his toad tightly, as if he was holding something precious.

"Dad...Mom."

He muttered quietly.

However, no one would laugh at him at this time for being unable to live without his parents.

Ernie and Hannah even suppressed the smiles on their faces, and the two children just sighed.

"Do you know something?"

Seeing their hesitant expressions, Connor, as an outsider, couldn't help but ask.

"We don't know much either. Neville doesn't talk about his parents very often."

After hesitating for a moment, Hannah said this.

"Mum told me that Neville's parents are Aurors and respectable people."

"Then they are now..."

"Neville's parents are currently receiving treatment at St Mungo's Hospital."

Ernie took over.

"They... experienced some trauma."

"What trauma?"

They shook their heads.

"I don't know. I just met Neville and his grandma when I went to the hospital to visit my grandfather, and we chatted for a while... Anyway, it was a chaotic time in the past. The disability rate of Aurors was quite high, and there were so many people.

They were all injured and have not recovered yet."

The previous period of time should refer to the period when the mysterious man was making trouble.

"Neville's parents are very brave, and so is he."

The Hogwarts train drove towards the Scottish Highlands in this way. The journey was calm and nothing happened again.

Concerned that Neville was sleeping, Hannah and Ernie gradually quieted down, which also gave Connor time to think.

About these new friends I have made, and also about my experiences since I stepped onto these two trains.

Then, he recorded all this in a new diary.

"what are you writing?"

Ernie was still staring out the window in boredom, but after seeing Connor seeming to be writing and drawing in his throat, he couldn't help but ask.

"Nothing, just some trivial matters in life."

Gently closing the diary, Connor responded with a smile.

"It's just a little boring."

He just glanced at the scenery passing by quickly outside the window - but it was already a little dark now, and without lights, nothing could be seen outside.

"Then we won't be so boring soon."

Hearing the whispered conversation here, Hannah, who was also looking out the window, laughed.

"We're almost at Hogsmeade."

"Hogsmeade?"

"It is a wizarding village, and it is also the only village made up of pure wizards in the UK. That is our end point."

Ernie stretched as he answered.

"Anyway, let's change into the wizard's robe first. It would be a waste of time to change again when we get to the station."

"really……"

Responding casually, Connor just stared out the car window. With his eyesight, he could vaguely see the village in the distance.

"In five minutes, the train will arrive at Hogwarts. Please leave your luggage on the train and we will take it to school for you."

"Well, where will the luggage be sent?"

"I have no idea."

After putting on the black wizard robe completely, Hannah shook her head.

"However, my mother said that when she was studying at Hogwarts, her luggage was sent directly to the dormitory."

"This seems quite convenient."

Although he said so verbally, Connor obviously had no intention of letting anyone else handle his small suitcase.

After putting on the wizard's robe, he quickly held the suitcase in his arms.

Then, he reached out and pushed Neville, who still hadn't woken up.

"Wake up, wake up."

"Hmm...huh?"

"Neville, we've arrived."

"Well, what's the stop? Ah, I'm going to Diagon Alley today!"

As if he remembered something, Neville suddenly widened his eyes, which were originally a little apprehensive.

But soon, he realized something was wrong.

"???"

Under the weird looks from Connor and the other three, Neville couldn't help but scratch the back of his head.

"I'm sorry, I forgot that I was already on the train."

Seeing Neville's confused look, Connor helplessly shook his head.

"Just wake up a little, we'll get off the car in a moment."

"Well, okay, I'll change into the wizard's robe right away. Grandma said I'm going to change into the wizard's robe."

Neville just rummaged through his suitcase.

"Eh? In which box did I put my wizard robe?"

"Aren't you wearing your wizard's robe?"

"Um?"

Neville couldn't help but glance at his clothes, and finally smiled sheepishly.

"Well, I saw it, and I remembered it. Grandma said that I was usually careless, so she asked me to put on the wizard robe first before getting in the car."

After a few words, the Hogwarts train slowly stopped at Hogsmeade Station, and Connor followed the other little wizards and walked out of the station.

What comes into view is a wide station.

"Hey, I really should put on some clothes. It's colder here than I thought."

When she just got off the train, Hannah couldn't help but shiver.

"Just bear with it a little bit."

Ernie sighed, he couldn't help but shiver for a while before.

"It's not far from the school."

After looking around for a while, Connor saw a wide lake, and an ancient castle stood across the lake.

In Connor's eyes, the castle illuminated by lights exuded a heavy aura, as if it was protected by something.

"Look across the lake is Hogwarts. We should be there soon."

"Hmm? Can you see it?"

Ernie looked around casually.

"But I can only see the woods, and beyond...it's so dark."

"Ah...you can't see it."

After coming back to his senses, Connor shook his head helplessly.

"That's what I want to ask, can you see it?"

Ernie couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"Well, my eyesight is a little better."

And just when he wanted to complain about something, Neville also interjected:

"It's a little damp here, and I think Leif would like it."

At this point, he was still holding his toad, but before he could feel any joy, the toad in his arms began to jump out.

"Eh? Leif! Where are you going?"

But Neville obviously already had a unique understanding of his pet, and when he reacted, he directly reached out and caught his own toad's escape behavior.

"Don't run around, Leif, I'll be in trouble if I can't find you later..."

Neville was concerned about the condition of his pet, but Connor was speechless when he saw his appearance.

"I think you should try to let go before you say this, Neville, your toad's head is going to be crushed by you."

"Ah! Leifu! Are you okay! Leifu!"

In a flurry of excitement, the first-year students gathered together, but Connor, who was looking around, saw other students directly, and they were walking towards the main road.

"Should we just follow him?"

But before these new friends could answer anything, a slightly rough but extremely loud voice came from the side:

"First-year students, please come here!"

When Connor looked out, what he saw was a hill covered by beaver skins.

"Follow me closely!"

When he spoke again, Connor could see clearly that it was a little giant with thick hair, wearing a tight beaver fur coat.

But compared to a real giant, his body is too small.

"Mixed race?"

Looking at that slightly fierce but friendly face, Connor felt his head shake.

It seems that such a character does exist.

"Hagrid..."

That should be the name, right?

"I am Rubeus Hagrid, the keykeeper and gamekeeper of Hogwarts."

It seems that he is right. Although his face is a bit fierce, I remember that he is a good person.
