Chapter 22: Becoming famous with one ball (Part 1)

"The game has entered the 27th minute and it is very dull. There is no derby gunpowder smell, nor any exciting offense and defense."

"Huntley passed to Sherwood, a beautiful pass, Sherwood passed to Stuart Ripley. Blackburn still chose the right as the direction of attack. Ian Coyd did not have time to defend Ripley, Berg quickly inserted. The right formed a two-on-one situation, Ripley passed the ball."

"Oops, the pass was wrong, Stuart's mistake was too amateurish. What a good opportunity, such opportunities are rare."

"Daniel did not pass the ball, but broke through with the ball. There was a large open space on the right side of Blackburn, Daniel was too fast, and Berg and Stuart could not catch up with Daniel. There were only two defenders behind Blackburn, and Burnley counterattacked!"

"Daniel passed the ball to Ballack, who made a beautiful two-on-one pass that went past the entire back line. Daniel now went straight in and faced Flowers. There were Huckabee and Bobowski next to him, so it was a good situation of three against one. Burnley's best counterattack opportunity!!!"

"As long as Daniel passed the ball, he would have a chance to shoot at an empty goal. Daniel chose to shoot, Daniel, Daniel, beautiful, scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"GOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful shot, Flowers only touched a handful of air. Beautiful goal, this was Burnley's first shot in this game. Unexpectedly, he scored a goal." The commentator spoke out like a machine gun.

When Daniel's ball shot into Blackburn's goal like a cannonball, the enthusiasm of all Burnley fans who came to Ewood Park with the team was instantly ignited. There were only 6,000 fans, but the cheers that erupted made the entire Ewood Park boil.

"GOOOO!!!!!" Burns in the stands was bare-armed, nearly 1.9 meters tall and so conspicuous among a group of fans. He grinned and shouted loudly.

"GOOOO!!!!!" John Morrison raised his hands and shouted loudly. Then he grabbed the fans next to him and shouted: "Parkin, see it. I said that my son will succeed. Hahaha, my son scored a goal."

"Yes, John, I saw it. Daniel is definitely a genius, a genius. He is our Burnley hero." Parkin and John Morrison hugged and shouted.

"GOOOO!!!!!" More than 6,000 Burnley fans in the stands jumped up with their hands raised high.

But Blackburn fans were stunned. The powerful Blackburn was scored by Burnley first? Such questions made Blackburn fans unable to recover for a while.

"Beautiful goal. Paul, did you hear it? The cheers of Burnley fans filled the entire Ewood Park." The commentator in the commentary booth was also stunned by this goal.

"Of course, I believe everyone felt this passion. Daniel, a player who was only 17 years old, ignited the passion of the stadium. Although he was a little embarrassed when defending, the goal just now was impeccable. He joined the youth team of Burnley at the age of 13, and made his first appearance at the age of 17 and 21 days. He scored his first goal at the age of 17 and 89 days."

"Look at the statistics. It took only 11 seconds from Daniel's interception to the goal. And the speed of Daniel's shot was 112 kilometers per hour. Such an amazing result makes us realize Daniel's speed and shooting ability."

"Wait, Paul. Look at our young coach Levy..."

In the TV camera, George, who had been standing on the court since Daniel's counterattack, waved his fist fiercely after seeing Daniel score. Then George turned around and made a shut-up gesture to more than 20,000 Blackburn fans.

And the whole person turned around, so that all Blackburn fans could see this gesture clearly.

The Blackburn fans who were stunned by the goal at first, after seeing George's gesture, started to curse George as if they had ignited gunpowder. All kinds of curses imaginable were used on George. Some small things even started to greet George directly.

"Hahahaha, we were just saying that this game lacked the flavor of derby. This immediately had such an effect. I believe that many years later, Coach Levy's action will be repeatedly mentioned by Burnley and Blackburn fans."

"No matter what the result of this game is, Coach Levy will definitely become Blackburn's number one enemy."

At the same time, Daniel, who scored the goal, was stunned in front of the goal. Just watching the football bouncing in the Blackburn goal, Daniel didn't realize that he had scored until Ballack jumped up and hugged him.

Daniel wanted to find George for a moment, but was directly pressed down by Huckby, Bobowski, Neil Lennon and others who followed.

Not only the front court, but also Mitchell King, Grant and Miller came to the place to celebrate. Burnley players celebrated unscrupulously in front of Blackburn because they were so happy. Seeing Blackburn Rovers playing well in the Premier League, while Burnley can only play in the English League Two, many people feel very frustrated.

Now that the goal was scored against Blackburn Rovers, everyone was inexplicably excited.

The celebration lasted for three or four minutes. If the referee hadn't intervened at the end, the Burnley players would have ignored the time in their celebration.

George suppressed his excitement and came to the side of the court and shouted. "Mitchell, defend, defend." George was going to be shameless. Anyway, Blackburn had to press forward now that they were leading by one goal.

After Burnley scored, they adopted the same tactics as at the beginning. All the players retreated to the 30-meter area and guarded it.

The ball was basically around 30 or 40 meters away, and the competition in the midfield was very fierce. After a goal was scored, Blackburn's players didn't know how to play. Some wanted to attack in the middle, while others attacked the wing; some wanted to defend, while others wanted to attack. This made Burnley's defense much easier.

In this game without any technical content, Burnley ended the first half with a one-goal advantage.

…………

"1:0, this is definitely the score Blackburn didn't want to see. But from the process of the first half, this is a very fair score. Under Burnley's tight defense, Blackburn couldn't find any chance to score. Nearly ten shots were long shots, and no threat was formed. Instead, Burnley got a chance to counterattack, and young player Daniel scored the first goal of his career."

"From the first half, Coach Levy's deployment was definitely a step ahead. And Coach Shaft obviously underestimated the team from the second division. But there are still 45 minutes of the game, and Coach Levy and Coach Shaft will definitely use the 15-minute halftime break to make adjustments. Let's take a break and look forward to more exciting games in the second half." At the end of the first half, the commentator began to comment on the performance of the two teams in the first half.

The two commentators took off their noise-isolating headphones.

"Martin, what do you think of the second half of the game?" Paul smiled and asked.

"Paul, George is definitely an amazing young coach. Most of Burnley's current players were brought in by George himself, and they performed very well in the League B. George chose the right tactics in this game. I believe Shaft must be regretting why he didn't include Shearer in the match list. Now their problem is that they can't break Burnley's dense defense. If they have Shearer at this time, it will be very easy to deal with." Martin was talking nonstop like he was commentating on the game.

Paul shrugged and stood up. "Martin, let's go. Let's go for a drink. Shaft's position as coach is in jeopardy now. It will be interesting if he loses this game."
