Chapter 27 The First Step to Success

"We have a young magician, he is only 28 years old this year. But he is a great magician, and he beats the enemy to pieces. Who is he, who is he? He is George, George!" When George walked out of the locker room, all the Burnley fans began to sing the song prepared for George.

George took office amid doubts a year ago, and after a season, he completely conquered the Burnley fans. At Turf Moor, George was welcomed as much as Mitchell and Bobowski. No, even more than them.

When George heard the song, he bowed to each stand very elegantly. George's action immediately attracted thunderous cheers from Turf Moor.

"It's been a long time since I saw such a scene at Turf Moor." The Sky TV commentator murmured, "I was commentating the 1993-1994 season of the Second Division, and I also commented on Burnley's game. That year, Burnley was promoted to the First Division under the leadership of Jimmy Mullan, but I didn't see Burnley fans cheering Jimmy Mullan so much. Maybe the young coach Levy is really an excellent magician."

"Yes, this atmosphere at Turf Moor..." The commentator next to him also shook his head. "I haven't seen it for a long time."

Turf Moor was the first stadium visited by a member of the royal family. In October 1886, Prince Florian Albert, the son of Queen Victoria, came to watch a game against Bolton. Before the war, Burnley attracted up to 50,000 spectators per game, which was equivalent to the total population of the entire city of Burnley at that time. In 1927, Turf Moor held its first international match, with England playing against Wales, and England lost 1-2.

However, with the decline of the Burnley team, Turf Moor has become a thing of the past. Even last season, the average attendance at Turf Moor in the First Division was only about 7,000 people. This season, the average attendance in the Second Division is double that of last season.

"Wow, George is so handsome. Miranda, why don't you introduce George to me?" The companion who came with Miranda looked at George with obsessed eyes.

But Miranda didn't seem to hear her words, but just looked at George with a happy face. Every time she saw George's smiling face, Milan felt very happy. She thought to herself: Brother George is really a wooden man, and he hasn't felt her feelings at all for so many years.

"Brother George, why don't you understand me?"

…………

This day is April 8, the 41st round of the English Second Division, Burnley faced Brighton at home. Brighton has almost locked in a relegation spot, and there is only a theoretical possibility of relegation.

Today, Turf Moor is full, and there are even many fans cheering for the team outside the stadium. Because if Burnley wins this game, it will become the champion of the English Second Division in advance. After the 37th round of matches, Burnley has already secured a promotion spot.

George sent out Burnley's strongest lineup today: Miller is the goalkeeper, and Grant, Mitchell King, Gary Breen, and Daniel Morrison form the back line. The central defender combination of Mitchell King and Gary Breen has the lowest goal conceded rate in the second division.

Daniel Morrison is a young star who emerged in Burnley this season. Since he became famous with one goal when he defeated Blackburn in the third round of the League Cup, his performance has been getting better and better. In the nearly 20 games that followed, he scored three goals and assisted seven.

The midfielders are Neil Lennon, Ballack, Danny Murphy, and Boborski, and the forwards are still Richard Brodie and Darren Huckabee.

As soon as the game started, the imposing Burnley firmly controlled the rhythm on the field.

Just seven minutes into the game, Boborski received a pass from Ballack, rushed through the right, and finally dribbled past the goalkeeper and shot into the empty goal. This is the 24th goal that Bobowski has scored in the League Two.

"Carel" "Boboski!" When the commentator at Turf Moor shouted "Carel", the fans in the stadium would shout "Boboski". Bobowski ran half a circle, listening to the shouts of Burnley fans, and was deeply intoxicated.

Bobowski took a certain risk when he came to Burnley a year ago, but Bobowski now knows that this is a very successful season. George trusts himself very much, and almost all of Burnley's offense revolves around him. Including Richard Brodie and Darren Huckabee, they will revolve around Bobowski in the offense. Once Bobowski picked up the ball, not only Ballack and Danny Murphy in the midfield would respond on the side, but Huckabee in front would also pull to the side to open up space for Bobowski. Bobowski's 24 goals almost sacrificed the scoring ability of others.

Brighton, whose morale was already low, was completely disarmed and surrendered by Bobowski's goal.

In the 23rd minute, Ballack received a header from Richard Brodie and scored his 13th goal in the League Two with a long shot.

Amid the constant cheers at Turf Moor, Huckabee scored another goal in the first half. The first half ended with a score of 3-0.

In the second half, the team began to slow down. Brighton had no desire and was relegated to the League Three. If they were angered and kicked, it would be a loss. However, Burnley was stronger after all, and Bobowski scored another goal in the second half. The game ended with a score of 4-0.

George has been standing on the sidelines since the second half because he couldn't sit down. "Karl, how do you think I performed this year?"

"George, listen to the cheers on the scene. Their cheers are the evaluation of your work for the year." Carl Pat pointed to the fans on the scene and said proudly. "George, your stage should not be in the second and first divisions. You should go to Europe and conquer the European giants."

"Beep, beep, beep--" The referee was very tactful. After the time was up, he blew the whistle to end the game without adding a minute. As the whistle ended, the entire Turf Moor Stadium erupted in huge cheers again!

"We are going to the First Division, the First Division Burnley is here!!! Cheer, Burnley!!!! Tremble, First Division!!!" The crazy roar of the commentator on the scene was intertwined with the cheers of the fans in Turf Moor.

George couldn't suppress his excitement and hugged Carl next to him and the players on the bench one by one.

"Once again, we saw Burnley players abandon their head coach. George, the young coach, conquered everyone in just one year. He became a hero in the city of Burnley. In his first year as a coach, George achieved great success. Let's cheer for George, cheer for our young magician!!!" The commentator said, and as he spoke, the fans at the scene once again began to sing the song written for George.

George was thrown high by the players, but he thought in his heart. "Success, this is just the first step. I'm just getting started."
