Colonial Suit

#223 - Help me take care of everyone

That's right, those two Meteor-class pilots were killed by Blood瞳. And he is now strolling with Robbie on a sunny little planet. It's covered in greenery, with the songs of birds and the fragrance of flowers. The distant green mountains stretch endlessly, and a peaceful little village stands at their foot. In front of the little village is a very delicate church.

Blood瞳 and Robbie stood not far from the church, watching the children playing in front of it.

These children were simply dressed, but very happy. They frolicked in front of the church, their joyful laughter ringing out from time to time. Their innocent faces were filled with pure smiles, blending with the surrounding environment to form a beautiful picture.

Robbie's expression was one of contentment, like a wanderer who had finally returned home, his face full of a faint smile. In the breeze, his black priest's robe danced gently, exuding a warm aura.

Beside him, Blood瞳 stood quietly, his gaze fixed on the children, watching them play, watching the Gemini siblings laughing and mingling with them, and the constantly pounced-upon Lie Ya. His face remained expressionless.

After a long while, he said softly.

"Is this what you've been protecting? They... are truly happy."

"This isn't just my protection, but the efforts of the church and the grace of our Lord," Robbie replied with a smile. He glanced at Blood瞳 and said with some surprise.

"Your condition seems a bit abnormal. Could it be that the injuries you sustained from killing that Meteor-class pilot were severe?"

"No. Killing him was just a sneak attack, I'm fine," Blood瞳 gently raised his hand, glancing at the wound on his arm.

It was left behind from his battle with that Meteor-class pilot. The opponent was strong, and even in a state of excessive drinking and relaxed vigilance, he still managed to counterattack successfully, activating the absolute barrier of his armor. But unfortunately, Blood瞳's Unyielding War Aspect was too unique, especially its penetrating characteristic, which was simply the nemesis of all energy shields. He actually killed him within the absolute barrier. Even at the moment of death, he still retained an incredulous expression.

Of course, Blood瞳 wasn't unscathed. This Meteor-class pilot was slightly stronger than Carson, so Blood瞳 had a long wound on his arm.

The wound was being repaired by the enhanced cells, but it was very slow. Even with the naked eye, some black substances could be seen within it. Blood瞳 estimated that this was the ability of that Meteor-class pilot, to inhibit or even erode the enemy through certain toxins. If it were an ordinary person, this wound would probably be fatal. But for the enhanced cells of the colony armor, it was clearly not enough.

Although the core was dormant, the enhanced cells of the colony armor were still scattered throughout Blood瞳's body. This gave Blood瞳 the confidence to challenge opponents beyond his level.

But then again, if he really had to face a Meteor-class pilot head-on, he would still be taking a huge risk. So Blood瞳 chose to sneak attack. This allowed him to successfully hunt down another Meteor-class pilot after Carson. Presumably, T6 Space Station must already be in chaos.

"You know?" Blood瞳 quietly watched the frolicking children in the distance, his eyes hazy.

"I'm a little lost right now..."

"Oh? Do you need our Lord's shepherd to guide you?" Robbie smiled slightly, exuding a peaceful and serene aura. "Believe me, our Lord's glory will make you forget all your troubles."

"Robbie, you're still such a religious fanatic," Blood瞳 chuckled, shaking his head. "But I'm afraid you can't help me. My confusion is here."

He pointed to his heart.

"What do you mean?" Robbie put away his smile, his expression becoming serious. "Are you saying... War Aspect?"

"That's right," Blood瞳 nodded, raising his eyes to look at the distant horizon. "My War Aspect... actually, it's not mine."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Robbie was shocked. "If it's not your War Aspect, how can you use it?"

"You probably won't believe it if I tell you. But it's true," Blood瞳's mind flashed back to the nameless man and the figure of Sect Leader Hensel. A touch of gentleness flashed in his eyes. "Those are all other people's War Aspects, I'm just borrowing them."

"I think you might need to get some rest," Robbie sighed. "In the last battle, did that Meteor-class pilot injure your head?"

"No, I'm really fine," Blood瞳 felt a warmth in his heart, knowing that Robbie was comforting him. But the confusion in his heart did not diminish in the slightest.

"Robbie, do you know what faith is?"

"Faith? This..." Robbie looked at the priest's robe he was wearing. He wondered whether he should say he knew, or didn't know?

Seeing his depressed expression, Blood瞳 couldn't help but chuckle, which broadened his mind a lot.

He pointed to the church in front of him, the frolicking children, and the distant village with its curling smoke. He said in a faint tone.

"Look, no matter what you believe in, this world and these lives are able to thrive under your protection. So your faith is actually them. It's a belief, a belief in protecting the weak. This makes you fearless, and it ensures that you will never be confused. Because you have them in your heart."

"But what about me?" Blood瞳 raised his head and looked at Robbie. "I was born on that apocalyptic planet, and from the moment I opened my eyes, I had to struggle for survival. At the age of five, I learned to kill. To fight for a mouthful of food, I could easily stab a stranger in the throat. I don't know what protection is, I don't understand what the weak are. I only know that if you're not ruthless enough, you'll die, and if you want to live, you have to give up everything. This is the law of natural survival."

As he spoke the last sentence, Blood瞳's tone was filled with a bloody aura. Even Robbie felt a blur before his eyes, as if he saw a small child stabbing a man in the neck with a knife, then snatching his food and devouring it. That hungry look was like a wild beast.

This was a common scene in the apocalypse. Robbie had been to X35 and naturally knew how difficult it was to survive there. Especially for a child, it was even more difficult. If you weren't ruthless enough, cruel enough, you would probably not only starve to death, but even your corpse would become food for some people.

Looking at the stern expression on Robbie's face, Blood瞳 smiled slightly, revealing a set of snow-white teeth.

"So I survived. All along, I thought I would continue to live like this. But... I was wrong..."

He raised his hand, a wisp of black aura coiling around his finger, like a small snake.

"I was wrong in... although I was alive... I never knew what it was like to be alive..."

"This..." Robbie was stunned. This sentence was obviously a paradox, but it seemed so natural when Blood瞳 said it, so natural that it filled him with bitterness.

After thinking for a while, Robbie decided not to comfort Blood瞳. He understood Blood瞳, knowing that Blood瞳 was not only cold on the outside, but also like a piece of solid ice on the inside. That was the mindset forged by surviving in the apocalypse. Not to mention him, even a true god would probably not be able to create a single crack in it. The only way to melt this ice was for him to figure it out himself.

"You should still get some rest," Robbie sighed, a trace of gentleness flashing in his eyes.

Blood瞳 smiled slightly, seeming to see through Robbie's thoughts. He shook his head and sat down lazily on the grass, which was full of life.

"I'm fine. I'm really fine. I'm just thinking about some things, some things I can't figure out."

"If you can't figure it out, don't think about it for now. You have plenty of time anyway. Isn't it the same if you think about it later?" Robbie laughed, trying to change the subject. "And as for your War Aspect, even though you keep saying you don't know what faith is, since you can use it, then it's yours. Isn't that a very simple thing? Why do you have to figure it out?"

"............" Blood瞳 was speechless for a while, then chuckled. "You're right. I really am thinking too much."

As he spoke, his gaze fell on the small church not far away, and he said with some surprise. "I saw a few priests inside just now, are they all like you?"

"No," Robbie shook his head slightly, knowing what Blood瞳 wanted to ask. "They're just ordinary people, they only came here to spread our Lord's grace. Don't underestimate this small church. In fact, its influence covers the entire planet. Besides here, there are tens of thousands of villages waiting for them to preach. Speaking of which, they are the backbone of the Scourge Church. We are just responsible for external affairs."

"What about your companions? I didn't see them."

"They've all gone out on missions. In fact, in order to maintain the church, we all need to work very hard. We rarely see each other, and some of us have never even met," Robbie smiled slightly, his eyes filled with a light called happiness. "Actually, compared to them, my job is relatively simple, and my contribution to the church is also small. And whenever we're tired, we come back here to find peace under our Lord's glory."

"Sounds good. So this attack on T6 also had an impact on you, right?"

"More than just an impact? I can't even get any missions," Robbie gave a bitter smile. "The others are a bit better than me, but they have to operate in even more distant star regions because of this. You should know that's not easy."

"By the way..." Speaking of this, Robbie suddenly asked. "Weren't you planning to go back to X35 too? When are you going?"

"Soon," Blood瞳 replied, a faint glint flashing in his eyes. "I'll go back after I finish one more thing."

"What thing?" Robbie asked curiously. "Going to take down another space pirate? But according to intelligence, the remaining guys are not easy to deal with. They're all concentrated in T6, and we won't get a chance to sneak attack."

"I'm going to do just that," Blood瞳 casually picked up a blade of grass and put it in his mouth, chewing it for a while before suddenly saying. "Robbie, can you do me a favor?"

"What favor?" Robbie was stunned, then became serious.

"Help me take care of everyone."

"Are you crazy!" Robbie's eyes widened, obviously realizing what Blood瞳 was going to do...
