Colonial Suit

#41 - A hexagonal box

The black bear's secret chamber was built very sturdily, extending a full ten meters deep beneath the villa. Only one passage could be used to enter. Both sides were firmly sealed with solid concrete slabs, and there were no lighting facilities. The passage was a spiraling downward staircase, also constructed of concrete. Blood Eye had Kobe lead the way, and they quickly arrived in front of a large iron gate.

Kobe raised the gas lantern in his hand, making the light shine more clearly, and then said to Blood Eye, "Master, this is it. This iron gate is incredibly thick, impossible to open with manpower. Moreover, the combination lock on it was specially obtained by Black Bear from the market; it's very advanced. Only Black Bear knows the password."

Blood Eye didn't speak but carefully observed the iron gate for a while before waving his hand at Kobe. "Step back a little."

"Yes." Kobe immediately lowered his head respectfully and quickly retreated a few steps, his eyes flashing with excitement.

He had long wanted to know what was hidden behind this iron gate. However, Black Bear guarded it closely, and he didn't even have the slightest chance. Now that the truth was finally about to come out, his heart was pounding.

Blood Eye stood in front of the door and reached out to 'feel' it. Through the sensation, he knew that Kobe wasn't lying to him. This door was at least twenty centimeters thick and wasn't made of ordinary cast iron but high-purity refined steel. Although this material couldn't compare to alloy, it was indeed very extravagant to use it to build a door. Even Blood Eye was intrigued.

After confirming the sturdiness of the door, Blood Eye took a step back and uttered a low shout. "Armor... Hand."

A soft blue light flashed. The white hand armor grew out from his skin and was instantly assembled. Blood Eye moved it slightly, then gently raised his right arm.

"Blade!"

With a clang, the blue light blade instantly ejected and was then 'inserted' into the door seam by Blood Eye. The seemingly sturdy refined steel door was incredibly fragile in front of the armor's light blade, being penetrated with just one move. Then, Blood Eye easily cut off all the bolts. With a push, the heavy iron gate slowly opened.

"It's done!" Kobe exclaimed excitedly, hurriedly stepping forward and using the gas lantern to illuminate Blood Eye while eagerly peering into the secret chamber. As soon as he saw what was inside, he gasped, a look of surprise appearing in his eyes.

"It's actually... actually this!"

Under the light of the gas lantern, a nearly brand-new six-wheeled armored vehicle was parked in the secret chamber. All the weapons on the armored vehicle were fully equipped, including a small-caliber rapid-firing gun. The slender barrel emitted a faint blue luster under the lantern's light, obviously regularly maintained by its owner. In the armored vehicle's magazine, dense rows of ammunition were neatly arranged, as if ready to depart at any moment.

"This must be Black Bear's escape tool!" Kobe exclaimed excitedly. "Master, we've struck it rich! This car is brand new and worth at least a thousand gold Weikes."

Blood Eye didn't speak but calmly began to observe the secret chamber. He discovered that besides the armored vehicle, there weren't many things in the secret chamber, only two boxes. He walked to one of the boxes and kicked it open, immediately revealing a dazzling golden light.

"Heavens! It's all gold Weikes! A full few thousand!" Kobe immediately let out a piercing scream, almost fainting from excitement. He had never seen so much money in his life. Black Bear had probably concentrated all his wealth here. With so many gold Weikes plus this fully equipped armored vehicle, even if he was driven away by others, he could easily make a comeback elsewhere. But now, this huge fortune was benefiting Blood Eye. Oh, and of course, Kobe thought, himself.

However, Blood Eye wasn't surprised at all to see these. He knew that Black Bear had been a major leader of No. 7 Shelter since he had memories. With so many years of accumulation, his wealth had long exceeded the imagination of ordinary people. The apocalypse was like this; the strong were naturally meant to occupy the best and most resources. Black Bear was just the leader of a gathering point and could accumulate so much wealth; the famous great overlords were even more unimaginable.

In this world, only the strong deserve to survive and can survive better.

Shifting his gaze away from the first box, Blood Eye focused his attention on the second box. After opening it, he was stunned.

There wasn't anything valuable in this box; instead, there was another iron box and a tattered notebook next to it.

What does this mean?

Blood Eye doubtfully took out the notebook first and opened it. He discovered that it was a diary.

The diary was very old, recording most of Black Bear's experiences in No. 7 Shelter. It was hard to believe that this savage and fierce guy actually had the habit of keeping a diary. But most of the entries recorded the gains from robberies on certain dates. Blood Eye quickly lost interest after reading it for a while. Just as he was about to throw the diary away, his gaze suddenly froze, and a solemn look appeared in his eyes.

In the last few pages of the diary, a situation that interested Blood Eye was recorded.

"Apocalypse Year 5, March 12th. Today, I killed Jack. This is really exciting. I've long disliked this guy. I chopped off his limbs and threw him into the wilderness. His screams were so pleasant to hear. I never thought that the boss of No. 7 Shelter would be so weak. It seems I am the strong one, and I deserve to own this gathering point."

"March 13th. I took over Jack's property. Heavens, he's really rich, and there are so many weapons. Now I don't need to worry about arming my subordinates. But I found something interesting in his secret chamber: a hexagonal box. It's really strange. Why can't this box be opened? And why did Jack hide this thing in the secret chamber?"

"March 14th. I think I know why Jack wanted to collect that damn box. Damn it, it's actually a mutated creature. Today, it suddenly pounced on one of my subordinates. Heavens, he melted before my eyes. It's so terrifying."

"March 15th. I've always thought my luck was good, and it seems it really is. I don't need to worry about that damn box. It turns out this thing can be used. I think I've found a way to use it. Maybe it's a good weapon?"

"March 16th. Today, I tested the effect of the box weapon. It seems its power is even greater than I imagined. The wreckage of a piece of armor melted in front of me. Damn, it's so powerful. I don't think I need to be afraid of anyone anymore, even if the opponent is wearing armor. I just need to throw this box at him and can say a prayer for him, right?"

The remaining records didn't have any valuable information. Blood Eye closed the diary, a glint flashing in his eyes.

So, what's in this iron box is that hexagonal 'box'? That's really interesting. Maybe this is my most important gain this time.

Blood Eye wouldn't treat this box as a mutated creature like Black Bear did. In fact, he had seen similar 'boxes,' or rather, devices. And that device was currently parasitizing in his body, becoming a living weapon: Armor!

Could this box also be a set of armor?

"Kobe, get out. Keep an eye on the door and don't let anyone in," Blood Eye suddenly said seriously.

Kobe blinked and immediately agreed, running out in a few steps. Watching his figure disappear behind the door, Blood Eye then took out the iron box and carefully opened it.

The iron box was very heavy, and there was a layer of lead inside. The moment Blood Eye opened it, he saw at the bottom of the box a silver-white hexagonal object quietly placed there, exactly the same as the armor he had obtained in the beginning. At the same time, Blood Eye felt the "It" in his body suddenly awaken, followed by an uncontrollable desire.

It really is related to "It"! Blood Eye felt his body trembling almost imperceptibly. An intense sense of desire surged from "It," stimulating him to the point of excitement. But he still sensitively discovered that this hexagon had a slight difference from "It's" original form. "It" originally had a circular crystal in the middle, but this hexagon had none at all. And in terms of size, this hexagon was more than a circle larger than "It."

But how can it be used?

Blood Eye looked at the seamless hexagon and silently said to "It" in his heart, "If this is what you want, then let's begin. Let me see what it's for."

"It" throbbed violently a few times, seemingly responding to Blood Eye's call. Immediately afterward, Blood Eye heard a clear creaking sound. The large hexagon in his hand suddenly burst, disintegrating into countless flying rhomboid fragments. Then, a large patch of blood-red muscle tissue rose from the middle of the hexagon, mixed with mucus, and pounced on Blood Eye, twisting violently. During this process, Blood Eye felt bursts of stinging on his skin, as if countless leeches were trying to burrow into his body, indescribably disgusting and terrifying.

Reflexively, Blood Eye wanted to get rid of this disgusting entanglement, but "It" in his body timely transmitted a violent palpitation, stopping his resistance.

Blood Eye frowned and coldly said to "It," "Are you sure it's not dangerous? Black Bear's diary recorded its terror. This thing can even eat armor. I don't think even if you help me, my body will be more sturdy than armor."

"It" throbbed a few times, seemingly comforting Blood Eye. But then, another surprising thing happened. With its throbbing, Blood Eye actually felt "It's" position moving, gradually moving upward from his heart.

"Damn it! What exactly are you trying to do! Do you want to enter my brain?" Blood Eye finally felt something was wrong and shouted loudly.

But it was too late at this point.

Because "It" existed within Blood Eye's body, Blood Eye couldn't control "It's" actions at all. He could only helplessly feel "It" moving upward bit by bit, while a strong sense of paralysis came from his nerves, causing him to quickly lose control of his body. His knees weakened, and Blood Eye fell powerlessly to the ground, watching helplessly as he was engulfed by muscle tissue.

The paralysis quickly spread throughout his body, and Blood Eye only felt a darkness before his eyes, already having passed out.
