Colonial Suit
#479 - War Weapon Pandora!
In the dilapidated wooden house, Hitomi silently watched the medicine being injected into his veins, then closed his eyes.
The Sanixter Elixir had a unique form, neither liquid nor gaseous. It was like a misty, illusory fluid. Its absorption rate was astonishingly high, bursting with unimaginable energy almost as soon as it was injected.
Silently, Hitomi felt as if he had been thrown into an erupting volcano, every inch of his muscles being scorched by intense heat. A large amount of pure energy rejoiced and roared in his veins, spreading throughout every nerve. Yet, this feeling was not painful. Instead, it brought an extremely strange sense of comfort, as if he were in warm water, every cell stretching and relaxing.
Uncontrollably, Hitomi groaned softly. Countless violet lightning bolts seemed to spring out of nowhere around him, disappearing in a flash. Even though it was only for a ten-thousandth of a second, it almost annihilated the entire wooden house.
Then, he opened his eyes. His pupils were now clearly visible and eerily enchanting.
The door opened, and Heck walked in. He was startled when he saw Hitomi's pupils. "Hey, what's wrong with you?"
"I'm fine," Hitomi said, taking a deep breath. Then, he closed his eyes and opened them again. The eerie pupils had disappeared without a trace. He looked like a normal person again.
"You..." Heck shook his head with a wry smile. "Still, be careful. You know how many people are looking for the ruins of Crodill. If your identity is revealed, you'll be in big trouble."
"I know, thank you, sir," Hitomi said quietly. He felt his body's condition again, and after a moment, he sighed. "It seems... the effect isn't great."
"How is that possible?" Heck was stunned, then quickly checked Hitomi's condition. His face turned gloomy.
Hitomi was right. The elixir's effect was indeed not significant. At most, it only slightly slowed down his burning. It was far from Heck's previous estimate of two years. Especially after receiving this pure energy, Hitomi's burning signs became even more vigorous, as if he was about to be burned to ashes.
"Damn it!" Heck's expression was as ugly as it could be. Such a precious Sanixter Elixir had yielded this result. He was extremely disappointed. But more than that, he felt a faint sense of panic. If even the Sanixter Elixir couldn't alleviate Hitomi's condition, what other means in the Fourth World could stop Hitomi from dying?
Could it be... that he still couldn't protect 'her' legacy?
For a moment, Heck's expression was uncertain. But after a moment, he gritted his teeth. "I'll go find Baal for another bottle. I don't believe it won't work."
"Sir!"
Hitomi suddenly stopped Heck. Then, he said to Heck, "There's no need. Even if you give me another bottle, it won't solve my problem."
At this moment, Leia's figure suddenly appeared in Hitomi's mind. He finally understood something.
"Because this is a test for me!"
"What are you talking about?" Heck looked at Hitomi strangely, not understanding the meaning of his words. "What test? No, you still listen to me!"
"Really, there's no need!" Hitomi stopped Heck again. He pointed to his eyes and said seriously to Heck, "This time, I have to rely on myself. Because this isn't just a simple breakthrough to Meteor, but to gain... its recognition."
Looking into Hitomi's eyes, Heck suddenly understood. He was stunned.
"You mean... it?"
Hitomi nodded heavily, his eyes revealing a firm gaze. "Our rule is, advance or die!"
"..." This time, Heck finally stopped talking, but a huge wave surged in his heart. He felt a chill in his heart at Hitomi, and the cruelty of the civilization behind him.
Advance or die!
What a simple, what a ruthless rule! Could it be that the ancient overlord used this method to train their descendants? Without a trace of warmth, a trace of tolerance. A cold-blooded rule that was appalling, was their secret to success?
At this moment, Heck finally understood why Crodill was so frightening in the distant past. It was because it was not only ruthless to its enemies, but even more ruthless to its own people. From the way it trained its descendants, it could be seen that this civilization was simply a cold beast. From the inside out, it was full of cruelty and cold-bloodedness. It advocated the primitive law of the jungle!!
But it was precisely because of this that their warriors were the strongest and most invincible! Because before they encountered the challenges of their enemies, they had already experienced the most cruel challenges in the world. Challenges to themselves!
"It's really... incredible..." Unconsciously, Heck's expression became serious, revealing a hint of fear.
Although he was also a planetary-level expert, at this moment, he suddenly felt that Hitomi was a bit terrifying. Not the terror of strength, but the terror of this consciousness and spirit. Obviously, Hitomi had become accustomed to Crodill's training methods and was going further and further down this path.
Heck didn't know where Hitomi would eventually go. But he was clear about one thing. That was, if he continued on this path, although Hitomi's energy level would not be much different from ordinary warriors, his combat will and hunting instinct would not be on the same level. These conditions seemed inconspicuous, but when used in battle, they would directly lead to victory!
In other words, in a battle of the same rank, Hitomi was almost invincible! And even in a challenge of a higher rank, Hitomi had a chance to fight!
What a powerful combat talent! Even Heck could only sigh after careful consideration, recalling a distant title.
Battle race!
"If that's the case... then I can't help it." Heck pondered for a moment, looking at Hitomi with a complex gaze. "You... good luck."
Hitomi replied softly. Then, he bowed to Heck. "Thank you for your care, sir."
"Don't say useless things. You know what I'm here for." Heck waved his hand and turned to walk out of the house. When he was about to reach the door, he stopped again. He said to Hitomi.
"I also had Baal check that girl."
"Oh?" Hitomi's eyes lit up. "What was the result?"
The girl Heck was talking about was Pandora. She was also one of the purposes of this journey. Because the energy core was about to dry up, Heck had long seen that Pandora was about to stop running. That's why she needed to come to the Fourth World with Hitomi. He hoped to find a way to replenish her energy here.
"The result is very bad." Heck didn't turn his head, but his voice was a bit desolate. "Baal said that there was no way to replenish her energy. In another two months, she will stop functioning."
"No way to replenish?" Hitomi was shocked and couldn't help but ask, "Could it be that even the Sanixter Elixir won't work? I remember you said that the Sanixter Elixir is pure energy. In theory, it can replenish all kinds of energy."
"That's just theory." Heck replied bluntly. "Indeed, Sanixter is a high-level resource in the Third World, and even the Second World. But it's not omnipotent. For example, it has no effect on that little guy."
Speaking of this, Heck suddenly turned around and met Hitomi's eyes.
"Do you even know what Pandora is?"
"Pandora... is... what?"
Hitomi was stunned by Heck's words. In his impression, he had never thought about this question, and had never even regarded Pandora as 'what'. In his eyes, Pandora was just a girl, a somewhat strange, but fairly nice girl. Of course, Pandora also had her secrets, but no matter what, she was Hitomi's partner.
Partner, should she be called 'what'?
"Stupid!!"
Seeing Hitomi's expression, Heck knew what he was thinking and couldn't help but scold him. When he spoke again, his expression had become extremely solemn.
"Hitomi, I don't know how to remind you. But you have to remember that your troubles are already big enough, but if the news about Pandora spreads out, your troubles will be even bigger! So big that you can't accept it!"
"That serious!?" Hitomi suddenly gasped. Unacceptable? Could it be that Pandora's influence was even more dangerous than his identity?
"That's the truth." Heck took a deep breath. He said seriously to Hitomi, "Because Pandora is not a simple artificial human. She is actually... a human weapon secretly researched by the Third World!"
"What!?"
Hitomi was stunned, then shocked.
Human... weapon?
Pandora?
If Heck hadn't said it himself, Hitomi simply couldn't connect these two nouns together. Pandora, such a well-behaved and quiet girl, how could she be combined with a weapon? More importantly, it was still a secret research of the Third World? What kind of amazing secret was hidden behind her?
"Actually... I only found out later..."
Heck sighed, lowering his head and rubbing his eyebrows. "Adam gave me some clues at the beginning of this matter. Later, I conducted an investigation on her. But the result shocked me. Pandora's existence is a secret even in the Third World. Only a few families have any understanding. I even used some relationships to finally get a result."
"That is, she is not a technical development in the general sense, but a war-oriented experimental body. She is the crystallization of the Clay family's highest technology!"
"From the beginning, she existed for war! Her appearance was for conquest and killing!"
"That's impossible!"
Hitomi immediately retorted. Pandora's image appeared in his mind. How could such a girl be combined with war? What she should do most is to bring a plate of drinks and deliver them to you obediently. Then politely ask if you need anything else.
"Impossible?" Heck glanced at Hitomi, his eyes full of teasing.
"Then let me show you this..."
As he said this, Heck took out his smart device, opened it, and pulled out a series of light screens. These light screens flashed in front of Hitomi. Hitomi was stunned after only one glance... He was struck by lightning.
"Pandora..." To be continued...
