Colonial Suit
#77 - Sarah
"Is killing a sin?" The little girl pondered, biting her finger, a look of confusion on her face. "I don't understand... Besides... Brother Robbie, aren't you a Death Priest? I remember them saying... you've killed many, many people too!"
"Yeah, Brother Robbie," the little boy, Bosi, chimed in. "Is killing fun? Do you like blood too?"
"Lost lambs, may the Lord forgive you," Robbie said, lowering his gaze and making the sign of the cross as he watched the two children speak such cruel and bloody words with such innocent tones.
In truth, he had known from the start that communicating with this pair of siblings would be futile. They were known as the Blood-Soaked Twins. Their hands were stained with the lives of countless people. But the problem was, they didn't simply kill; they enjoyed torturing their victims.
Robbie hadn't come to MS1 planet on any particular mission. He was just here to collect some mineral specimens. But he happened to run into the two siblings going on a killing spree. They had beaten nearly a hundred people one by one, then vivisected them. Amidst the screams, the two siblings laughed innocently. The bloody scene was too much for Robbie to bear. For him, killing might be his profession, but torture was unacceptable. That's why he stepped in to stop them.
But he never imagined that the two siblings would be so powerful, even inflicting a minor injury on him.
Sensing the injury on his left hand, Robbie knew he couldn't continue like this. Unless he fought to the death, he feared he wouldn't be able to stop these two siblings. The Blood-Soaked Twins, indeed lived up to their name.
Sighing inwardly, Robbie was about to give up when suddenly, a figure appeared in his sight.
A figure he never expected to see here.
"Bloodshot!"
"Brother Bloodshot! You're here too!" The twin siblings cheerfully greeted Bloodshot.
"What, you know them?" Robbie asked, slightly surprised. Looking closer, he noticed Bloodshot was wearing the standard combat suit for subordinates, and the striking silver scorpion emblem. "So you've already become a subordinate. I thought you were still on planet X35. I was planning to take on a few more missions and then look for you. Judging by the emblem, your liege is Lord Hensel?"
"Yeah," Bloodshot nodded, giving Robbie a gentle smile. He was also happy to see an old friend on a strange planet.
"Hello, Robbie. And you two..." Bloodshot greeted the two siblings.
"Hello, Brother Bloodshot..." The two siblings smiled sweetly, their hands still dripping with blood.
Seeing Bloodshot arrive, Robbie finally breathed a sigh of relief. He knew he was safe. Bloodshot would never allow the two siblings to attack him.
As expected, after exchanging greetings, Bloodshot casually inquired about the cause of the conflict. After both sides had explained, he frowned and said to the two siblings.
"I'm sorry, Bosi, Mia. Robbie is my friend. I hope you won't continue fighting. If you want to complete your mission, we won't stop you."
"Is that so..." Bosi frowned adorably, thinking for a moment, then said to Mia, "Sister, it seems Brother Bloodshot doesn't want to help us. Does he want to be our enemy? Should we kill him?"
"That's not an easy question to answer, my dear brother," Mia said, looking troubled. She bit her finger, worried. "Brother Bloodshot being here means he must have taken down Brother Hector. My dear brother, we underestimated Brother Bloodshot's strength. If we calculate it that way, it might be difficult for us to win easily."
"Brother, I love you. I don't want you to get hurt. So let's spare these poor fellows. Although their blood tastes good..."
"You're right, Sister. I love you too," the little boy, Bosi, said emotionally. Then he walked over to Mia and gently hugged her. "Let's not get hurt, okay?"
"Okay, Brother," Mia replied, and then the two shared a deep kiss, completely ignoring the gazes of everyone present.
Watching the two siblings being intimate as if no one else was there, the priest Robbie shook his head, then made the sign of the cross. "Incest is a deep sin, may the Lord forgive you. Amen."
"Alright, Robbie. You've never prayed seriously," Bloodshot replied, good-naturedly. He and Robbie were quite close, so he spoke casually.
Speaking of which, Bloodshot also realized that he felt particularly relaxed when he was with Robbie. Perhaps it was because of Robbie's gentle nature, or perhaps it was because of his priestly profession. In any case, when Bloodshot was near Robbie, he felt a sense of peace, as if he had escaped the treacherous life, and felt calm and comfortable.
With the negotiations concluded, Bloodshot and Robbie didn't plan to stay here any longer. But at that moment, a fat man rushed out from the crowd, scrambling to Bloodshot's feet, screaming.
"Wait... Lord Bloodshot... don't go. I am Kerkel, your employer... help me... help me... those two children, they want to kill us."
"..." Silently gazing at this ugly, fat pig of a lord, Bloodshot's mind flashed back to the dying roar of the hunter named Saul. He slowly shook his head. "I'm sorry, Lord. My mission is over. Besides, Bosi and Mia don't want to kill you all, but you."
"No! Save me... don't let them kill me! I'm willing to do anything. That's right, hasn't your mission ended? I can apply for a new mission, a new mission! I can pay any amount! Protect me... protect me!" The fat pig lord was pale with fright. After the confrontation just now, he knew very well that he was doomed if Bloodshot didn't help him. Those two children simply treated killing as a game. It was too terrifying.
Out of fear, Lord Kerkel made a complete spectacle of himself. Tears and snot were streaming down his face.
Unfortunately, no matter how he begged, Bloodshot's heart remained as cold as iron. He didn't even bother to look at the lord again, and turned directly to Robbie. "Want to grab a couple of drinks somewhere?"
"Sure. I happen to know a nice place. Don't let this planet's low level of civilization fool you, it has some good stuff," Robbie said with a nod and a smile. He glanced at Lord Kerkel, still crawling on the ground. He asked with some curiosity, "Your employer?"
"You should know his name, it's Kerkel."
"So it's him," Robbie said, enlightened. "I heard he's the most brutal guy for hundreds of miles around. I've heard many legends about him. Do you want me to take him out for you?"
As he spoke, Robbie flipped his hand, and the Broken-Winged Butterfly reappeared in his grasp.
"No need," Bloodshot's lips twitched slightly, his gaze shifting to the side. "Isn't someone already going to entertain him?"
Robbie followed his gaze and revealed an understanding smile. "You're right, perhaps falling into the hands of these two little ones is his most fitting end."
In the direction they were looking, the little boy was walking over with a scythe in his hand, a naive smile on his face...
Robbie was indeed prepared, he actually had a motorcycle, and the car was full of supplies.
Just like on X35, Bloodshot consciously sat in the sidecar. Then he covered himself with a blanket. "Wake me when we get there," he said, and then drifted off to sleep.
Robbie could only smile wryly and take the driver's seat.
The motorcycle sped through the desert, and it was almost night when they reached their destination. The outdoor temperature began to drop sharply, quickly reaching an unacceptable level.
Fortunately, both of them had extraordinary physiques. This bit of low temperature was nothing.
The destination was a small town. It was also adjacent to the Kerkel River. Robbie skillfully drove the motorcycle into the backyard of a bar, and then walked into the bar with Bloodshot.
The bar was small, and the environment was terrible. It was full of choking smoke and men's body odor. Because it was late, the bar was already packed. There wasn't a single seat to be found. Energetic men were roaring, their eyes greedy as they stared at the bar's only stage.
On the stage, a girl with an exaggerated figure was dancing passionately. She was wearing very little clothing, barely covering even the most crucial parts of her body. With each twist of her body, the thin pieces of cloth would lift, revealing the tempting skin and alluring curves beneath.
"Her name is Sharla, and she's the owner of this bar," Robbie explained to Bloodshot, shrugging his shoulders.
"Don't let her look like a slut, actually very few people try to get her attention. At any time there are a thousand men in this town willing to fight for her. So if you want to have a good drink here, it's best to stay away from her."
"I'm just afraid trouble will find me," Bloodshot replied indifferently. "And from what I know, you're ridiculously attractive to girls. Are you sure we won't run into a scene of jealous rivalry?"
"Hey, buddy. That doesn't sound like you," Robbie said, feeling a little embarrassed.
Because Bloodshot was right, the first time Robbie came to this bar, he was surrounded by a group of men because Sharla took the initiative to ask him for a drink. If he hadn't been strong, he would have been crushed by the crowd. But today there were many people in the bar, and Sharla couldn't spot Robbie right away. Robbie led Bloodshot around the bar for a while, and came to a table by the corner. He flicked a gold Vicks over.
"Leave here immediately, this gold coin is yours."
The owners of the table were two burly men. They were originally very dissatisfied with Robbie's tone of voice. But when they saw the gold coin, their eyes lit up, and they immediately scampered out of the way.
Robbie smiled at Bloodshot. "See, sometimes this thing is more useful than fists."
"You're right," Bloodshot also revealed a smile.
After the two sat down, Robbie reached out and called over a waiter. He was just about to order some drinks... when suddenly... a soft, seductive voice came from behind them.
"Hee... I was wondering why they left. So you're here. Dear Robbie, did you come especially to see me?"
Before the words were finished, a graceful figure spun and "flew" over...
