Colonial Suit

#871 - Heterokaryotic

Brute chuckled, a chilling glint flashing in his eyes. "Same rules as always, it's my prey!"

Before the words even left his mouth, he felt a whoosh beside him, and Blood瞳 had vanished.

"Hey! You can't do that! That's my prey!" Brute exclaimed, quickly shouting.

But it was too late. Blood瞳 appeared above the giant monster in an instant, his palm slamming down. With a thunderous crash, he forced the monster downwards. Before it could react, he vanished again, reappearing beneath it. He spun around, using his own body as an axis, and delivered a brutal spinning kick.

A muffled thud echoed. Everyone saw the giant cloud-like monster shudder as if struck by an invisible force. Its roar abruptly stopped, and its size diminished by a third.

It had been planning to chase down the escaping mercenaries, never expecting to provoke a beast like Blood瞳. These two consecutive blows nearly shattered its form.

But that was just the beginning. Almost as soon as its body convulsed, Blood瞳 appeared at its side, his hands seizing the monster's mist.

Strangely, the ethereal mist felt solid in Blood瞳's grasp, held firmly in his grip. Then, a cold light flashed in Blood瞳's eyes as he uttered a cruel growl.

"Force field, gravity, ten thousand times!"

"Compress!"

Silently, a black vortex appeared within the cloud monster's body, cruelly sucking the monster into it. The mist roiled in the void as the monster emitted a shrill scream. In just a few breaths, it shrunk to a mere few meters in diameter, then Blood瞳 seized it and hurled it like a meteor towards the distant city ruins.

With a deafening boom, the monster collided with the ruins, its massive body shattering into pieces. The violent gravity formed a vortex, creating a scene of utter devastation. Without pause, Blood瞳 drew his hands back to his ribs, then unleashed a torrent of light.

Mercenary Fist Art!

Chaotic Wind!!

In an instant, the entire starry sky seemed filled with endless streams of light, obscuring everything. It was as if the whole world was being stirred and squeezed by this light. People trembled in fear within the light, unable to escape.

But that wasn't the most terrifying part. What was truly frightening was the sense that space itself was about to shatter and be destroyed before the light even arrived.

Every beam of light that struck the distant city ruins created a large, black hole. These holes didn't affect the ruins themselves, but instead pierced directly through space. When the light faded, the void where the ruins had been was riddled with countless holes, like a sieve!

Blood瞳 took a deep breath, contracting his chest and abdomen, then unleashed one final punch!

Chaotic Wind... Termination!!

Planetary Collision!!

Boom!!

The void shook violently. The space where the ruins had been suddenly shattered into countless fragments, then absorbed into a black vortex. In an instant, everything disappeared. It was as if even light could not escape the black vortex.

When everything dissipated, there was no trace of the ruins in the void.

The city, the cloud monster, all gone without a trace, as if they had never existed. Only the shrinking spatial rifts remained, telling everyone what kind of terrifying cataclysm had just occurred. The entire shuttle was silent, stunned by Blood瞳's ferocity.

In the void, Blood瞳's expression was cold as he stared at the spot where the ruins had vanished. After a long silence, he turned and returned to the shuttle.

"Your Highness, well done!"

As soon as he stepped onto the shuttle, two rows of mercenaries stood on either side of the corridor, respectfully saluting Blood瞳. This was respect for the strong, and even more so, awe for someone who had easily eliminated a stellar-level powerhouse.

Only Brute still wore a disgruntled expression.

"We agreed it was all my prey. Why did you suddenly run off?"

Blood瞳 didn't speak, only glanced at him silently, then headed towards his room.

Watching his back, Brute suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

"Strange..." He rubbed his temples, puzzled. "Why do I find him a little scary now?"

He pondered for a while but couldn't figure it out. He could only say to the mercenaries, "Alright, get to work. We have other targets."

"Next time, be quicker. Don't always make me and Number One clean up your messes!"

"Yes, sir!" The mercenaries responded in unison and quickly dispersed.

The shuttle paused in the void, then vanished with a whoosh.

At this time, Blood瞳 had already returned to his room and lay on the bed.

He didn't turn on the lights, but in the thick darkness, his eyes gleamed. His right hand was clenched into a fist. After a long time, he slowly brought it before his eyes and opened it.

In the palm of his hand was a crystalline shard.

It was the remains of the cloud monster.

The Second World was still dominated by energy-based civilizations, so it wasn't strange for the remains of an enemy to exist in the form of a crystalline shard, especially since it was only a clone. What was so odd about that?

Blood瞳 silently stared at the shard, then suddenly pinched it with two fingers.

Pop.

The shard shattered, revealing a black dot the size of a speck of dust.

The black dot wriggled in Blood瞳's hand, stretching and extending like a dying cluster of cells, sprouting countless tentacles. Its appearance was disgusting, and it constantly gnawed at Blood瞳 with tooth-like structures, displaying extreme aggression.

This black dot was actually a small cluster of enhanced cells?

If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, Blood瞳 wouldn't have believed it. Moreover, this cell cluster was different from the ones Gustas studied in the Third World. It was basically in its nascent form, possessing all the characteristics of enhanced cells. Besides its invasiveness, it also divided and proliferated in Blood瞳's palm in just a few breaths, expanding to the size of a ball.

It frantically sought energy and food. Unable to obtain it from Blood瞳's body, it devoured the air and tore at Blood瞳's combat suit.

It ate everything, it could eat anything. As long as there was a trace of energy, it would expand and expand and expand.

At the same time, faint streams of thought began to emerge within this bizarre cluster of enhanced cells.

"What... is this?"

Blood瞳 allowed the strange cell cluster to spread in his palm, his eyes gleaming with a cold light.

The cloud monster clearly had an energy-based body, but why did its core contain enhanced cell components? Even more bizarre, these enhanced cells were so complete, so why didn't they bear Crodir's mark?

It, at, its, root, was, not...
