#979 - Heaven is where the heart is

The song echoed in the sky, reaching the depths of everyone's soul.

It was initially faint, almost imperceptible. But once you heard it, it felt so clear, so warm. It resonated not only in the sky but also in everyone's heart. It was a song of the soul. A sacred song.

In the song, Mostina's expression calmed down, and a dazed look appeared in her eyes.

She seemed to see her younger self again, the happy life she and her people lived in the distant era of the Great Chaos. She saw the man she loved and his arrogant figure standing on the mountain peak, looking down upon all living beings.

Then, she saw her people again, under the sunlight and white clouds, as beautiful and happy as the girls of the Mark tribe. Sweet smiles, polite greetings, tranquility under the green grass, and the fragrance of flowers. Everything formed a dreamlike picture.

Long ago, Mostina believed that was reality.

But now…

She suddenly awoke, looking at her rotting, foul-smelling body.

This was the reality.

"Then… what exactly is this song?"

Mostina began to search for the source of the song, and then she saw a priest.

A priest who was tied to a stone pillar in front of the hall, seemingly unconscious. His body was still bound by chains, his limbs still tightly restrained. But in front of him, a thick book had appeared at some point, opened wide.

From the book, a sacred song faintly emerged, peaceful and serene.

Mostina wanted to stop him, but she found that she couldn't. Because he wasn't awake; he was still unconscious. It was his soul that was truly chanting the scriptures and spreading peace. This man, even at the moment of his own death, was still concerned about all living beings? What was he thinking? What was he trying to do?

Mostina couldn't understand. But that didn't hinder her understanding.

She clearly knew the power contained in this song. It was a vast and boundless, yet warm and approachable power, like a mother's murmur, a father's caress, allowing everyone who came into contact with it to return to peace. If this had been Mostina's dream in the past, it was now an obstacle.

Because she didn't need peace. Only hatred, anger, curses, sadness, and all negative emotions could complete the next fusion. This song was disrupting her plans, disturbing this world!

When did the Fallen Angels ever have peace?

When did they ever have paradise?

When the Fallen Angels were suffering and wailing, where was the peace?

When the Fallen Angels were being tortured, where was the peace?

Enough, it was enough! Fate must be grasped by herself. Only when her plan succeeded, only when all the Fallen Angels were fused into a new life, would the suffering of the Fallen Angels end! Only then would the Fallen Angels have true peace.

"You're wrong…"

"Actually, peace is in your heart."

"Who!?" Mostina suddenly looked up. She heard it, she heard a strange voice. But she couldn't find anyone. This was too strange. She knew that her power had surpassed the twin sisters. She couldn't understand how anyone could hide from her senses and quietly approach her.

But under her search, everything around her was normal. The owner of the voice seemed to have disappeared.

And the voice, however, rang in her ears again.

"Why don't you believe in your own heart? What are you doubting?"

"Who are you!?" Mostina's voice suddenly rose, her face twisting. She was too nervous. She wasn't afraid of any enemy, but an invisible enemy chilled her to the bone. Not only because of the other party's strangeness, but more importantly, she felt her heart actually calming down.

Under the comfort of this voice, it gradually calmed down!

"See, that's much better. A quiet heart is the warmest harbor."

"It's you!" Mostina finally understood, she turned her head, her eyes staring fixedly at Robbie on the stone pillar, undisguised killing intent flowing out. "You're not dead yet!?"

"Death is just a process, not an end. Even if you drain my life force, it will only eliminate my physical body, but the heart will not die."

Robbie's voice sounded again, but his body did not wake up. Only then did Mostina realize that this voice was not so much ringing in her ears as it was ringing in her heart. He was actually talking to her with his heart!?

Mostina was immediately startled. She couldn't imagine what kind of power this was. Could hearts be opened to each other? If the other party could talk to her in her heart, wouldn't that mean that she couldn't escape the other party's eyes no matter what she thought?

This… what kind of man is this?

"The Lord is omnipotent, the Lord is omniscient. You don't need to be afraid or troubled at all. The Lord does not care about your thoughts or actions, because you have not yet believed in Him, you are just a lost lamb." Robbie's voice said again, this time full of joy. "Listen, the song of the angels. She is singing to you, singing to your suffering yet still pure hearts. This song is devout to me, peaceful to you. You don't need to panic."

"But… you're stopping my plan!"

Mostina hesitated, but still said through gritted teeth. She was no longer confident now. Although the power of chaos had not receded, in front of such a mysterious yet sacred man, she felt that she had suddenly become fragile.

She really wanted to abandon everything, just fall into the man's arms, cry out her tears, cry out her suffering, and pour out all her unwillingness and grievances.

But all of this was just wishful thinking.

From the day she made the plan, she knew that she was no longer pure. Conspiracy and evil had merged into her bloodline. She was a black angel, the dirtiest, ugliest, and most filthy Fallen Angel. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't change it, so the only thing she could do was to use her own evil and filth to plan a future for the Fallen Angels.

"Do you think you're dirty?"

Robbie's voice said quietly, seeping into Mostina's heart. "Then, do you know what is pure, what is heaven?"

Mostina shook her head, she began to become confused, her eyes also became unfocused.

"Purity, comes from the heart…"

Robbie said, his voice becoming lower and lower, more and more sacred.

"In front of the Lord, no one is dirty, because that is just color. Every life, from the moment of birth, is covered with all kinds of colors, but that is not their origin. The purity of life lies only in the heart. Only those with pure hearts, even if they are stained with endless colors, what does it matter?"

"The Lord's world, will always be full of light to him."

"Listen, this song of the angels, where do you think it comes from? Who is singing it?"

"Not me, not you… it's all pure hearts."

"That is heaven."

The song quietly increased, Mostina raised her head, looking at the sky in confusion. She felt it, this song, it did not originate from the Bible, but from many, many Fallen Angels.

They were all suffering like herself, just as lonely, but at this moment, they were singing a sacred song.

Unconsciously, she remembered Robbie's words.

Where the heart is, is heaven. (To be continued…)
