Chapter 221 Summary at the end of the volume

Character data changes:

Xiang Shan:

The ancestor of martial arts who lost his memory was once a developer who launched a technological revolution, a world-class engineer, the king of paper airplanes, and the founder of chivalrous spirit. A long time ago, he broke into the space fleet to assassinate the tyrant, but failed. A few months ago, his head was unearthed in a garbage dump. At that time, he didn't even remember his name, only that he had an enemy named "Yawgmoth". A small fragment of the memory has now been found.

Changes in prosthetics and weapons:

In terms of prosthetic legs, the artificial muscle fiber prosthetic legs have reached the end of their service life, so some of the artificial muscle fibers are extracted and attached to the hydraulic transmission joints to make new prosthetic legs. Explosive power and speed have been reduced.

Personality cover:

A general term for all "simulated, socialized personalities". It is divided into two types: "true personality covering" and "fake personality covering".

Fake personality overlays refer to “computer-simulated personalities.” It is defined using the logic of the Turing test. If a program can impersonate a specific person and successfully deceive the person's relatives and friends, then it can be regarded as a "fake personality mask."

The true personality cover is when the biological brain of a natural person has long-term exposure to the memory data of a specific individual and consciously performs the role, and then generates the identity recognition of "I am the original owner of the memory." This can even be seen as the reappearance of the spirit of the original owner of the memory in an individual with a true personality.

The most famous personality mask group is the ten "Martial Gods" who were born based on the Martial Ancestor Xiangshan. According to known information, the second and third Martial Gods are false personality masks, while the sixth, seventh, and eighth Martial Gods are all true personality masks.

Quotes and Tributes:

The title of this volume comes from the novella "Real Name" by Verno Vinci.

The opening sentence of this volume is quoted from Li Bai's poem "Xia Ke Xing".

Some of the songs cited in this volume were sung by workers during the turbulent times of the twentieth century.

Finally, let’s talk about your thoughts.

First of all, I would like to thank all readers for your continued support. Thank you everyone for subscribing and joining us, and thank you everyone for being willing to read this story.

The title of the volume "Real Name" contains both the concept of "the pit of Xiangshan's identity" and the concept proposed in Verno Vinci's great novella - "Wizards"/"Hackers" must not be Man knows his true name, otherwise he is doomed.

Xiang Shan has been hiding in the dark. For most of the time, the enemy did not know that such a knight existed. In this state, the assassin is formidable. The story of the Eighth Warrior God tells the opposite. Once Xiang Shan is exposed, he will face the serious protector group. In the face of huge force, he is destined to be weak.

The reason why I quote the first two sentences of "Xia Ke Xing" in the preface is simply because I think they can well reflect the chivalrous attitude of the knight. This volume is Mukayama's first appearance in this era. The picture of the world in the dark ages has just unfolded in front of this man who has been sleeping for two hundred years.

Frankly speaking, the plot of the second volume is actually not very ideal. Chapter 105 "Illuminating Every Dark Place" is the climax of the whole volume, and too much writing and ink is devoted to this volume. Therefore, the subsequent "escape" and "assassination" are not so exciting.

I feel like I'm stuck in a predicament. There are only two ways to write "assassination": "He infiltrated - he was not discovered - he assassinated" and "He infiltrated - he was discovered - he penetrated". Even if the front of "propaganda war" is thrown out, the tricks that can be designed are limited.

The second assassination in this volume, namely "The Eagle Strikes the Chariot" in Chapter 130, is obviously not as emotional as the assassination of Bengel. As for the setting, Xiang Shan cannot assassinate Mr. Zhao now.

This leads to the fact that Chapter 105, the "middle and late part of the plot," is the most emotional part of this volume. And when you get to the end, there is a feeling of "this is it". Maybe I should pin the end of the volume to a hundred and a few chapters, and then put the experience of "Returning Carbine - Killing Through - Heading to the South of Jayhawk City" in the next volume.

In addition, I also have to reflect on the fact that I may have put more thought into the "past chapter". Although the plot is always based on the "present chapter", Xiangshan in the "present chapter" is a bit too "lone wolf", leaving little room for other characters to play - of course, Xiangshan's teammates now are either disabled people or Yuki Such a new role. They can't actually do anything.

The current story is only "Xiang Shan was killed again". In comparison, the story of Xiangshan's acquaintance and mutual understanding with his former partners in the past chapter seems more vivid in my heart.

In this volume, I think there are more vivid characters, only Matsushima Hiro and Old Crab. This is somewhat of a pity.

I hope I can make more progress in this aspect in the next volume.

Please forgive me for updating just one section today. After all, I am just a mediocre author, and this book was still too labor-intensive for me. Sometimes, I also have to recharge myself through reading.

The third volume will be updated on time tomorrow, "Who Grieves the Lost Man".
